Reviews from tourists

We recently took a tour of abandoned estates. And I can say that we definitely did not regret it! We would never have seen it ourselves and never known what beauties we have or have had very close to home. We, as modern people, so often strive to travel to other countries and to other continents, but how often we do not know and do not appreciate our history, our native places. We are very grateful to George for our enlightenment. I really liked that he not only carried out the program, but also went beyond its boundaries, showed and talked about the sights that were along the way and not so much. It is clear that Georgy is rooting for the disappearing heroes of his excursion and does his work with all his heart. I really hope that over time there will be as many such informal excursions as possible, which will allow us and our children to get to know our wonderful city much more deeply and it will also not be boring)

We went on this excursion, relying on the description and reviews, really counting on an exciting trip, but, as they say, apparently it was not fate. At our request, the tour was shortened to a visit to two sites. 4 hours of excursion of 20 minutes to the site and three hours and twenty minutes on the road. Georgy, it’s clear that a knowledgeable and interested person cannot talk and drive at the same time; several times we almost got into an accident. Therefore, as we moved along, we no longer asked him anything. Absolutely short description on the spot. My foreign guests called it the worst time in St. Petersburg, and I really wanted to show them something unusual. The idea is interesting, but the organization is “Russian”. If you hire a driver so you can talk along the way, and a more comfortable car, your impressions will probably be more positive.

Super tour from start to finish. The places were wonderful, and were brought to life by Georgi, who was very prepared, and knew detail upon detail. He also speaks English, which was a bonus we hadn't expected.

A wonderful excursion from start to finish. The places that Georgy took us through simply came to life. Georgy told a lot interesting facts, accompanied the story with unique old photographs, answered any questions. At the same time, he spoke English, which was a bonus that we did not expect. Thank you very much!

I was really looking forward to this excursion! Six months before the trip I already knew that we would definitely visit it! I was alone with my husband. We spent 8 hours very comfortably. Georgy is a well-read person, not a single question stumped him, he quoted poets, told, in addition to facts, legends, speculation. Interesting, educational, calm and very beautiful!!! very! We walked everywhere, walked around not only the estates themselves, but also the adjacent parks. Georgy was with us everywhere, led us along secret paths, commented... And at the same time he was unnoticeable and unobtrusive, we had personal time for contemplation and photography. A wonderful excursion, I recommend it to everyone!

Hello! Is it possible to write a response to the user Artem to this review?
Dear Artem! I'm very sorry that you didn't enjoy the tour. However, several points need to be undone: you did not warn me that you only have 4 hours for the excursion instead of the planned 8. You asked me to pick you up from your hotel on Nevsky and I went to meet you, which increased the road to leaving the city for an hour. This excursion always ends at the Moskovskaya metro station. However, your friends needed to go much further and we spent another hour in traffic jams just to take them from Moskovskaya to the desired address. Thus, 2 hours or even more of the 4 that you yourself allocated from the very beginning for the excursion were spent transporting your guests and it was not at all my fault.
I don’t know what you mean by an accident, but we didn’t get into one and in 10 years of driving I haven’t had an accident yet, thank God. Finally, you paid me significantly less than the amount indicated for the excursion and I, as you put it, in purely Russian terms, agreed with this, although the duration of the excursion was shortened through no fault of mine, and in the end I spent no less than usual. I also don’t agree that I didn’t talk much about the objects, I talked all the time, it’s just that your guests and you went in different directions and didn’t listen to me at the same time.
I think that when traveling out of town you need to plan your time better. I wish you pleasant impressions and travels!

I really enjoyed the excursion. The travel plan is well drawn up, the historical material is excellently presented, this is the story itself about the estates and their inhabitants, and additional photographs, and an excellent foundation for the future. I would like to visit these places more than once, for example in the summer, walk through the parks, feel the grandeur of the former pearls of architecture, and feel the spirit of the era. Of course, when you see current state buildings, the soul is filled with quiet sadness. It’s a pity, needless to say, when something truly worthwhile and beautiful is destroyed. Thank you very much to George, both for the organization, and for presenting the story, and in general for the discovery of such a direction.

I highly recommend this excursion! Thank you very much to the guide Georgy for the interesting stories and attentive attitude towards everyone. The day just flew by))) it’s a pity that no one is restoring the estates, that they are really abandoned and in a few years they will be gone completely (((I would also like to note and say thank you for lunch in the Church with Father Pavel, everything was very cordially and sincerely. Be sure to take this excursion - you won’t regret it.

Thank you very much for the tour! Ordered as a gift for a lover of abandoned places. The gift was a success, the lover is delighted! :) Atmospheric places that you want to return to. Interesting program. Now we are waiting for “Journey into the world of abandoned estates-2”! :)

No restroom stops. What you warn doesn't matter when "you need to go to the toilet." There is very little description of organizational aspects. The guide knows the history quite well. But when they run a finger across your tablet with the stitches still un-removed, the guide has his pants hanging off, and he looks like he’s been drinking until the morning, it slightly erases the overall impression of the excursion. A lot of smacking, almost at the end of every sentence.
In general: the impressions from the objects visited are good, it’s a pity that everything is being destroyed so quickly, and no one is engaged in restoration. Save the route. The guide can be replaced. Thank you.

Dear Anastasia, thank you for the four stars! I will definitely take your criticism into account and will focus on visiting the restroom before leaving. Our route is structured in such a way that in the middle of the journey the whole group has lunch and visits the restroom in Kirch. There are two restrooms “M” and “F”. If additional requests come in, I usually make a stop at a gas station. I will, as I said, emphasize this point on the bus so that everyone knows that we have a toilet!)

As for the rest, I will give you this example. Unfortunately, I don’t remember you personally, but I remember that during the last excursion one girl was very unhappy that she paid 200 rubles for a three-course lunch, but she didn’t like the naval pasta and wanted another dish. There was no canteen in the Kirch and there were no other dishes. But especially for her, the priest’s wife cooked buckwheat porridge with meat and the whole group waited until the client finished eating.

I gave this example just to say that we really try to make sure you enjoy everything. I personally developed this without exaggeration unique route, collected information about the collapsing buildings and will try to make the excursion as best as possible, taking into account your criticism.

Excellent excursion! Time flew by. Thanks Georgiy!

« Abandoned Moscow"is an adventure for those who lack extreme sports and impressions in the bustle of the city. A foray into abandoned Moscow sites, the so-called “dark side of the city,” will allow you to gain new impressions and adrenaline.

The old Otrada estate, the KhZB hospital, an abandoned school, the AMO ZIL plant... An ideal theme for a Hollywood thriller or an opportunity to have a fun weekend? Make up your mind, and soon you will be able to tell your friends about your trip to the abandoned Khovrinsk hospital, which is also called “ Bermuda triangle Moscow" Or look at military equipment on airplane cemetery on Khodynka. Behind the gloss of the capital's streets are dozens of “black holes”. Houses from which life has gone forever, and some of them, for various reasons, were never completed. This excursion is not without its share of extreme sports. Going into an abandoned building is like stepping back in time. At some point, time stood still here.

The list of abandoned places in Moscow will continue with a forgotten school in the north of the city, where Zoya and Alexander Kosmodemyansky once studied. It has been empty for more than 10 years, but textbooks, notebooks, school equipment and a museum archive are still stored within its walls.

It is almost impossible to get to some of these places on your own; you need to know the secret passages and loopholes. For example, it is quite easy to enter an abandoned factory or a military airfield. And to the famous “Umbrella” (HZB hospital) - only accompanied by an expert who is well versed in its gloomy corridors.

“Abandoned Moscow” is an opportunity to look into places where outsiders are usually strictly prohibited from entering. Open these secret doors with us!
