Denmark is a very calm, peace-loving country. The government there is doing everything to ensure that the people have a good life. Free medicine and education, various social programs, a high standard of living and a temperate maritime climate make it attractive to citizens from the CIS countries. Immigration to Denmark is a worthy goal for our energetic compatriots.

Immigration methods

Emigration from Russia to Denmark is possible in several ways:

  • marriage and family reunification (with spouses or children under 18 years of age);
  • refugee;
  • opening a business;

After you receive a temporary residence permit on one of these grounds and have lived in the country for more than three years, you can obtain permanent residence.

Obtaining permanent residence

In addition to living in the country for three years, applicants for permanent residence must have a permanent source of income, living space, and not have problems with the law or tax debts. Already at this stage you need to pass an exam in the Danish language. After seven years as a permanent resident, you have the opportunity to become a Danish citizen. But at the same time you will have to renounce your previous citizenship.

Marriage to a Dane

People in Denmark enter into family relationships at a fairly mature age, so there is a condition for potential immigrants - newlyweds should not be younger than 24 years old. Marriage must be concluded for the purpose of creating a family, this is monitored by migration services.

In addition to the sincerity of the relationship, there are other – purely practical – requirements.

The spouse on the Danish side must have citizenship or a residence permit for at least three years. He must prove his financial solvency and have a sufficiently large living space.

The foreign spouse, in turn, must pass a language test and have an education.

Reunification with a child under 18 years of age is also regulated by a number of requirements:

Refugee

The Kingdom hosts five hundred refugees every year. This figure is constant and has not changed for many years. Even if an applicant for refugee status does not have sufficient grounds, he may be left in the country for humanitarian reasons: this applies to families with small children and the elderly.

Permanent residence permits are issued to people with refugee status after five years of residence.

For the enterprising

The basis for obtaining a residence permit in Denmark may be ownership or co-ownership of an enterprise, while at least fifty thousand euros must be invested in the economy. Businesses must work, generate income, and jobs must be created for Danes.

Once the company is registered, you must undergo an interview in English or Danish. The Danish temporary residence permit will need to be renewed within three years.

For specialists

Few people know that Denmark has a special immigration program for specialists (Green Card).

There is a whole list of professions for which the immigration process is simplified. There is a point system, there is a special test with which you can independently assess your chances of successful immigration.

Qualifications, language skills and ability to adapt are assessed.

Judging by the list, Denmark lacks engineers, specialists in exact and natural sciences, and doctors. To obtain a residence permit, you need not only to confirm your qualifications, but also your financial viability, as well as the absence of problems with the law. Program participants receive a residence permit for themselves and their family, with the right to search for work.

In the first year of residence, program participants must earn at least DKK 50 thousand in order to be eligible to renew the residence permit. According to unofficial data, only a small percentage of immigrants are employed in their specialty, while the majority have to look for any job or return to their homeland.

Particular attention is paid to whether the applicant speaks Danish. Knowledge of other Scandinavian languages is welcome.

Education

Studying at a Danish university can be considered as good preparation for further employment. And not only in Denmark: diplomas issued in this country are recognized throughout the world.

Becoming a student is relatively easy - applicants who have reached the age of 18, with knowledge of English at least TOEFL 560 and with a high school diploma are enrolled. For foreigners, training is provided only on a paid basis.
