The Boeing 777 200 aircraft is a new generation airliner that allows you to make long flights in comfort. After reading the article, you will learn what the interior looks like from the inside and how to choose the best seats when buying a ticket.

The 777 200 airliner is part of the fleet of the Northern Wind company, founded in 2008. Nordwind organizes charter flights and is licensed for private and cargo flights.

The company's fleet consists of 21 aircraft, of which 3 are Boeing 777-200ER (ER - literally Extended Range, which means increased flight range). The model entered active service in 1995, and the first flight was made in 1994.

In the Nordwind fleet, Boeings have tail numbers: VP-BJF, VP-BJB, VQ-BUD.

  1. VP-BJF. The youngest of the partners. Until he was 13, he flew for a Chinese airline, after which he took over NordWind;
  2. VP-BJB. He began his flight experience in '98 also in the Chinese airlines fleet, where he remained until 2013, then he was acquired by the current company;
  3. VQ-BUD. Created in 1998, it was owned by several air carriers, including Aeroflot. North Wind bought Boeing in 2014.

Advantages of the 777-200 aircraft

North Wind strives to optimize the composition of the park, making it possible to improve quality and create comfortable conditions.

The Boeing 777 200 is a wide-body passenger aircraft. The aircraft layout includes 393 passenger seats, which are divided into 2 classes: economy and business. It is capable of serving flights up to 18 hours non-stop.

Interesting fact: in 2003, Boeing set an emergency record for flying on one engine for almost 3 hours with passengers on board.

Features and capabilities of the court:

The fly-by-wire control system allows you to automatically avoid potentially dangerous maneuvers during flight and ensures that the pilots’ actions do not exceed acceptable limits. If necessary, the pilot can disable the system.

The Boeing 777 200er has the largest tires and landing gear of any commercial jet.

The interior is made in curved lines. There are shelves for oversized luggage. Before the creation of the 787 airliner, Boeing was considered the aircraft with the largest window sizes. There are designated crew rest areas located in the forward compartment of the aircraft. These include:

  1. 2-3 sleeping places;
  2. Two armchairs;
  3. Washbasin;
  4. TV.

Passenger cabin configuration of 777-200 Nordwind

There are 3 kitchen spaces and utility rooms, which are located at the beginning, middle and end. Restrooms are also allocated at the beginning and end of the plane. The seats in the stalls are made with a hydraulic hinge, which allows you to gently lower the toilet lid. There are two bathrooms, which are often located in front and behind next to the toilet rooms.

The layout allows employees to change the configuration of galleys, lavatories and seating depending on the needs of a particular flight.

Salons are distinguished by type of layout:

  1. Economy class for 440 seats;
  2. Economy and business class 396 seats;
  3. Economy, first, business 306 seats.

Let's consider a basic modification of the board with two classes.

Business Class

Occupies the front part of the aircraft. No more than 10 places are allocated for this category. Offers passengers a configuration of 4 seats in a row. They are arranged according to the number of seats 2-2-2, sometimes 2-3-2. For business class, Nord Wind claims a distance of 127 cm from the seat to the partition.

Peculiarities:

  • the seats are one and a half times wider than the economy category and can be transformed into a sleeping place;
  • reclining backrests extend more than in economy;
  • comfortable armrests;
  • restaurant menu;
  • there are retractable footrests.

Economy class

Starts from the 5th row. The distance between the seat backs is 74 cm. There are no footrests, but the chairs are quite comfortable, with armrests. They are made of ergonomic materials. The backrests recline slightly due to lack of space. There is a folding table, seat belts, earplugs and a storage pocket.

Economy class occupies 90% of the passenger compartment. The seating arrangement is as follows: 3 on the left, 4 in the center, 3 on the right. Most clients find this arrangement uncomfortable due to the narrow passages, constantly cruising passengers to the toilet.

During the flight you can watch movies and drink cocktails. The electronic panel allows you to track the location of the aircraft en route.

Choosing the best place

The first rows of economy class (5-6) have the undeniable advantage that there are no passengers who could recline the seat back on you. These seats in Boeing are considered good for flights and the most comfortable.

Information for mothers: in these places you can place a cradle with your baby in front of you.

The disadvantages of the row are the wall in front of the face, behind which the business class is located.

This is a quiet space, as toilets, bathrooms and kitchens are located further down the cabin. Another disadvantage is that you cannot fully extend your legs in front of you due to the partition.

Row 20 is similar to rows 5 and 6, but instead of business class there is a toilet partition in front, which means regular disturbance for passengers. This also includes seats from row 21 and seats G, F, D, E.

The advantage of row 45 is the ability to stretch your legs and straighten your knees due to the location of the emergency hatches.

For traveling couples, seats in the last row of the plane may become comfortable due to the narrowing of the fuselage. Instead of 3 seats, there are 2. The disadvantage is the possibility of hitting a passenger with a trolley carried by a flight attendant, as well as a line of people standing in the restroom.

Bad places: how not to make a mistake

Rows 38 and 39 are among the most uncomfortable. The chairs do not recline; in some cases there are restrictions on the level of inclination. Another minus is the proximity of the restroom.

53C and 54H are considered uncomfortable places due to the fact that passing passengers can easily hit you with their elbows. In addition, flight attendants with trolleys cause inconvenience during the flight.

Row 57,58: located at the rear of the cabin. The proximity of onboard kitchens, utility rooms and other technical spaces is inconvenient. They have restrictions in reclining the backrests or are completely blocked.

Experienced travelers do not recommend choosing rows 13,14,12. Due to restrictions on backrest deflection and the presence of a kitchen in the immediate vicinity.

From approximately rows 20 to 39, portholes may be missing in some places. This is a big minus for some travelers. For accurate information about the availability of a window, it is better to consult a company representative before purchasing a ticket.

Before making a purchase, pay attention to the following nuances:

  1. Study the interior layout and then make a purchasing decision;
  2. Do not take seats in the back of the plane, except for rows 40-41, which are suitable for those traveling in pairs;
  3. Avoid places near toilets due to unnecessary noise and queues;
  4. Buy tickets in advance to be able to choose the best seat. An additional bonus will be a lower price.

Uses 6 Boeing 777-200ER aircraft for long haul flights or on high-volume flights. The configuration of these aircraft provides two classes of service: business and economic. The passenger capacity of the airliner is 393 people.

Let's take a closer look at the cabin configuration and find out which seats on the plane are the best and which are not.

1 row is the only one in business class. The amenities in this row correspond to the class as much as possible: the distance from the seat to the partition declared by the airline is 127 cm. The seats are distributed in pairs.

Economy class starts from row 5. According to information from the airline, the distance between the rows is 74 cm. It should be noted that on these planes the seats are arranged in a 3-4-3 pattern, which is not very convenient for passengers. The disadvantage is due to the cramped interior.

At places in 5th and 6th row has both its advantages and disadvantages. The disadvantages include the fact that in front of passengers there is a solid partition that serves as the boundary between “business” and “economy” classes. There is plenty of knee room, but it will be difficult to straighten your legs. In addition, you will have to look at the wall during the entire flight.

The advantages of such seats include the fact that no one will recline the seat back on you, which is very important when making long flights and a short distance between the rows.

All chairs in 12, 13 and 14 rows(except 12K, 12J and 12H) may have limited backrest deflection. The proximity to the on-board kitchen is an inconvenience.

U 20 rows There are the same advantages and disadvantages as the 5th row. But in front of passengers there will be not a partition of salons, but a wall of restrooms. The close placement of toilets causes inconvenience due to the constant walking of passengers, slamming doors and sounds of the tank being flushed, etc.

IN 21st row (D, E, F, G) also inconvenient due to their proximity to toilets, but there is enough free space for legs.

Places 21H and 21C could be called comfortable if not for the close location of the restrooms.

In addition to all the above-mentioned disadvantages, queues may accumulate near passengers, they may get touched by an elbow or stepped on a foot.

IN 38 and 39 rows The seat backs may not recline or may have limitations in this regard. Also, the proximity to toilets causes discomfort.

Some modifications of this airliner have 1-2 rows without windows. In this cabin layout, such seats are located in the middle section (rows 20-39 of the cabin). We advise you to check this information with an airline representative in advance.

45 row located near the emergency hatches, so there is a lot of free legroom. The same restrooms interfere with a comfortable flight, next to which queues constantly accumulate and you have to endure extraneous noises and smells.

Places 46 rows (D, E, F, G) rest against the wall of the toilet. Of course, no one will recline your seat, but in a wide-body, two-aisle layout, staring at a wall on a long flight can be tiring.

Places in Row 53 (C and H)- the last ones in the 3-4-3 arrangement, then the fuselage narrows, the backs of these seats can be touched by passing passengers or flight attendants with trolleys.

IN 54-56 rows The seats have a 2-4-2 layout, which is a little more comfortable, especially if you are flying as a couple.

Last 57 and 58 rows most likely have fixed seat backs. Also, places are located near toilets and other technical rooms. Bad places.

On Rossiya Airlines Boeing 777-200ER aircraft (tail numbers VP-BLA and VQ-BNU), the cabin is divided into two classes: business and economy.

How to choose the best seats so that the flight is as comfortable as possible?

What are the best seats on the plane? In the aisle, in the middle, at the window? In the bow or tail? in our article.

Boeing 777-200ER Rossiya Airlines cabin layout

Business Class

The business class cabin uses a 2x3x2 seat arrangement. Seats in this class are located in rows 1 and 2.
The chairs are designated:

In the 6th row, the seats are arranged as in business class - in a 2x3x2 pattern.

Row 3
The first row of the economy class of suspended comfort has even more increased legroom compared to subsequent rows in this sector. In addition, I would consider the advantages of the absence of seats in front, proximity to business and economy class toilets. The seating arrangement is 3x3x3.

Rows 4 and 5
The seats in these rows have standard legroom for this sector. The advantages of all luxury economy class rows include their location relative to the aircraft cabin.

The luxury sector is located in the bow of the Boeing. The number of seats in this sector is much smaller than in “regular” economy class. During the flight, you will be spared people walking around the cabin and queues for the toilets.
Meal distribution starts from the nose and tail of the plane; you will be one of the first among passengers to receive food.

Row 6
The extreme row of this sector has both advantages and disadvantages.
The advantages include the layout of the seats according to the 2x3x2 scheme. For those flying in pairs, the ideal option is to book seats A, C and J, L. There are two seats located close to the windows and with good visibility, as in business class.

The disadvantages include the non-reclining seat backs. The Boeing 777-200 is used mainly for long-distance routes. A seat back fixed in an upright position can create some discomfort during a long flight.

Rows 10 to 43 are given to standard economy class. You will find out which are the best places in this sector and which should be avoided by reading the article to the end.

Row 10
By choosing seats in this row you will get the benefits of premium economy class for less money. A standard economy class ticket is cheaper, even if the airline asks you to pay extra for row 10 seats.

Passengers are provided with additional legroom and no seat in front. During the flight, your personal space will not be violated, because no one will lower the back of the seat in front.

Two steps away are toilets and a kitchen. According to flight practice, the majority of passengers prefer to use the toilets located in the rear of the Boeing 777-200.

The 10th row seats are arranged in a 3x4x3 pattern and have letter designations:

A B C D E G H J K L

The disadvantages, with a stretch, include placing hand luggage only on the shelf above the seats.
For lovers of landscapes behind the porthole, I do not recommend choosing the block of seats D, E, G, H. It is located in the middle of the cabin far from the portholes.

Rows 11 and 12
These two rows have standard legroom. The seat layout is the same as in the 10th row.
Actually, this scheme is used from 10 to 38 rows.

The view from the window in row 12 is partially obscured by the leading edge of the aircraft wing. Also, some discomfort can be caused by noise from the engines located on the wing.

Rows 13 to 28
The seats in these rows are located above the wing of the aircraft. If you are not bothered by the limited view from the porthole, these places have no other disadvantages.

Row 29
The seats in this row are located on the trailing edge of the wing. The view from the porthole will be limited. The seat pitch is standard.
The disadvantages are additional noise from the engines located on the wing and the seats in this row do not recline. Immediately behind it are the toilet rooms.

They are located in the middle of the cabin. There may be discomfort from passengers who frequently visit toilets and stand in line in front of them.

Freestanding chairs
In the Boeing 777-200ER of Rossiya Airlines, between rows 29 and 30 in the center of the fuselage there is a block of 4 seats located opposite the toilet with all the ensuing consequences. Formally, it belongs to the 30th row.

The seat backs in these seats do not recline, which creates additional inconvenience on long-distance flights. If possible, avoid choosing seats in this block.

Row 30
The central 4 seats have increased legroom and no seats in front. The downside is that the toilet is located nearby.

There is no wall in front of the side blocks of 3 seats, due to the emergency exits located in front of them. Due to this, there is much more legroom than in business class. When exiting, you don’t need to squeeze between your neighbors if your seat is by the window.

One of the disadvantages is the proximity of the central toilet, where economy class passengers from the central and rear sections will flock.

Rows 31 to 38
They have neither advantages nor disadvantages. The standard seating arrangement is 3x4x3, standard distance between rows.

Rows 39 to 41
The layout of the seats in this block is 2x4x2. I recommend choosing seats A, C and J, L. The advantages include a wide passage between blocks of two and four seats. The absence of a third chair and, accordingly, another neighbor.

Keep in mind that the structural narrowing of the aircraft fuselage begins from row 39. In blocks of two seats, the body with portholes will be located at an angle to the seats.

Row 43
The worst uncomfortable row on a plane. Located in the center of the fuselage and has only 4 seats. Opposite, on both sides, there are toilets, the doors of which go directly to seats D and H, there is no exit to the portholes. Behind the backrests, which do not recline, is the kitchen.

The Boeing 777-200 aircraft is designed specifically for long flights. The aircraft was created in the early 1990s and has been in active service since 1995. The length of the aircraft is 63.7 meters, the wingspan in various modifications varies from sixty to 64 meters, and the cabin width is almost six meters.

The Boeing version 777-200LR holds the record for the longest non-stop flight.

There are many configurations of this aircraft; depending on the seating arrangement, it can accommodate from three hundred to five hundred and fifty passengers.

Boeing 777-200 of Nordwind Airines

If you are flying Nordwind

Nordwind Airlines has two Boeing 777-200 aircraft in its fleet, in the 777-200ER configuration, which includes 393 seats, divided into business and economy classes. Below is a layout of the Boeing 777-200 cabin and the best seats in the cabin to choose from.

Nordwind Airines Boeing 777-200 cabin layout

This modification of the cabin provides the following breakdown of seats by row: three in the first row, three in the last and four seats in the middle. Toilets are located at the beginning and end of the cabin, there are two bathrooms in different parts of the cabin, utility and kitchen facilities are located at the head and tail of the aircraft, one kitchen is located in the middle of the cabin. There are only six seats in business class, all located at the front of the cabin. Economy class starts from the fifth row.

The fifth and sixth rows of seats are good in their own way, but there is also a fly in the ointment. The downside of these seats is that in front of you there will be a blank wall separating business class from the rest of the cabin. In addition, you won’t be able to stretch your legs, there simply won’t be enough space, and the dining table will have to be taken out of the armrest. But in front of you there will be no annoying neighbors who would recline their chairs. The same advantages and disadvantages are observed in the entire 20th row, as well as in seats D-G of the twenty-first row, only instead of a business class wall in front of you there will be a toilet.

Business class aircraft

Rows twelve to fourteen (except for the last three seats in row 12) have a small radius of seat back adjustment because they are located next to the kitchen. In rows 38 and 39 the same problem is observed, only the reason is the proximity of the bathrooms. Another disadvantage of the close location of the WC is the constant flow of passengers past your seat.

The seats in the 45th row are comfortable, since this is where the emergency exits are located, which means there is additional space. But the row 46 next to it is limited in maneuvers - again the proximity of the toilets is to blame.

The seats in the last rows from 54 to 56 are quite comfortable where there are two people. The fuselage narrows at the tail, so there are fewer seats. But rows 57 and 58 are an extremely bad choice. The seats do not recline, and there is a toilet and utility room behind.

Presented to you is a Boeing 777-200 Nord Wind, the cabin layout of which contains the best and not so good seat options. When buying a plane ticket, be sure to pay attention to what seat you are buying, don’t get into trouble - choose seats in which you will enjoy the flight.

Choosing Aeroflot aircraft

Aeroflot has at least thirteen such aircraft. The airline operates aircraft of the 777-200ER modification, the most modern of all existing ones.

The aircraft cabin is divided into three classes: business, comfort and economy, and can accommodate 402 people.

Toilets and galleys are located at the tail and head of the aircraft, as well as at the beginning, middle and end of the cabin. The seats are arranged according to the pattern: “three chairs-four-three chairs.” The fuselage tapering towards the tail suggests a two-four-two configuration. The most seats are in economy class, thirty are in business class, the rest of the seats belong to the “comfort” category.

When flying on a Boeing 777-200 (cabin diagram), the best seats are, of course, located in the highest-level classes. However, if your choice is economy class, then pay attention to the following rules for choosing a comfortable seat so that the flight brings you only joy.

Economy class starts from the 17th row, where it is quite convenient to fly, since there is an emergency exit in front of the seats, and this guarantees free space around. Two seats in the 18th row, namely C and H, are the most comfortable, as they are located far from the utility rooms, and there are no other seats in front of them.

The seat pitch in the economy row is 74 cm.

- a family of wide-body passenger aircraft for long-haul airlines. The aircraft of the family are among the largest passenger aircraft.

The Boeing 777 is a twin-engine turbojet low-wing aircraft with swept wings and single-fin tails.

It is the first aircraft to be designed entirely without paper drawings, but only using 3D computer graphics.

Ukrainian security forces confirm the crash of a Malaysian BoeingAs a result of the crash of a plane flying from Amsterdam to Malaysia, almost 300 people were killed near the city of Shakhtersk, Donetsk region. This was announced by Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anton Gerashchenko on his Facebook page.

The first base model Boeing 777-200 aircraft entered service with United Airlines in 1995. Later, extended-range versions of the Boeing 777-200ER (extended range) and Boeing 777-200LR (longer-range) were also released.

In 1998, Cathay Pacific Airways launched Boeing 777-300 aircraft, which differed from the previous model in having a longer fuselage and increased passenger capacity. Since 2004, a longer-range version of the Boeing 777-300ER has also been produced.

Based on the Boeing 777-200LR Worldliner, a cargo modification, the Boeing 777 Freighter, has been developed and is being produced.
Currently, the Boeing Corporation is developing a modernized version of the aircraft under the symbol Boeing 777X, which will be equipped with new engines and a wing made of composite materials.

Boeing 777-200 is an aircraft for transporting 300-400 passengers over a distance of up to 6 thousand kilometers (basic version), 11 thousand kilometers (777-200ER) and 14 thousand kilometers (777-200LR).

Boeing 777-300 (Boeing-777-300) - a version with an extended fuselage that can accommodate up to 450 passengers, a flight range of 7 thousand to 10 thousand kilometers (in the 777-300ER version).

The flight deck is equipped with an Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) system. The EFB system data needed by pilots to control the aircraft has been converted into electronic form, making it easier to use.

In addition to the Electronic Flight Bag system, a number of solutions have been implemented on board the Boeing 777 aimed at improving passenger comfort. In particular, the cabin is equipped with a video system with screens mounted in the backs of the seats, and the seats in the business class cabin have reclining ergonomic backs.

The aircraft is equipped with the Matsushita System 3000i, which provides storage for more than 300 hours of video and audio recordings, played back upon passenger request.

An important advantage of the Boeing 777 compared to other modern airliners is the use of a variety of lightweight but durable alloys and composite materials in its design. The floor beams of the passenger cabin, aerodynamic fairings and other parts are made of composite materials. The total share of composite materials in the total weight of the entire aircraft structure is nine percent. Thus, the weight of the aircraft and the cost of its production are significantly reduced.

Boeing 777 aircraft are part of the fleets of the world's largest airlines, including British Airways, Air France, Alitalia, Lauda Air and El Al.
