Our Turkish holidays.
I vacationed in this hotel together with my 5-year-old son from June 14-28. The plane arrived from Moscow at about 8 pm. There was a huge queue at Turkish customs, we spent about an hour there, the luggage also waited a long time, and our suitcase was the very last one). From the airport We arrived quickly, our hotel was the first. We arrived at the hotel around 11 pm. The hotel fight unloaded the suitcases of everyone who arrived at the hotel from the bus and took them to the lobby. We filled out the guest form at the reception, checked in quickly, were shown to our room, and our luggage was delivered. They offered us a late dinner. Dinner turned out to be not so hot; it felt like they offered us something we didn’t finish at dinner. After dinner we wanted to go to the sea, but in the darkness we couldn’t really see anything.
Number.
Small. But everything you need is there: a free safe, a wardrobe with a small number of hangers, disposable slippers (there were no bathrobes and the promised beach bags too), a minibar (1 small beer 0.25, small cans of Sprite and cola, 2 small bottles of mineral water and drinking water). We had a standard room with one large bed, 2 bedside tables + a tiny coffee table the size of a stool, as if made of plywood, and a Lilliputian greasy armchair next to it. The tiny balcony on which they squeezed a small table and 2 deserves a special description wicker chairs, on which it was not possible to sit due to the terrible cramped conditions (there was simply nowhere to move them away from the table and there was simply nowhere to sit). The balcony overlooked the main entrance to the hotel. Tourist buses, minibuses, cars, etc. drove up to the entrance around the clock In addition, the ventilation in the room did not work well, it simply turned off every 2 hours. And I jumped up all night to turn it on again, because it became impossible to breathe. I really wanted to rest from the road, but I had to get out of bed at night and turn on the air conditioning. The doors and walls are thin, you can hear what they are saying in the corridor and neighboring rooms. The floor in the room is tiled. It looks like the floor has not been washed even once in 2 weeks. Upon arrival, we found a watermelon seed on the floor, so this seed lay in place for all 2 weeks. After our check-in, the room was cleaned only 3 days later, and only after I hung up a sign asking the room to be cleaned. During this time, an impressive pile of garbage had already accumulated in the room; it no longer fit in the basket, but was lying next to it on the floor. The bed was first. they changed it once 10 days after arrival. But before this wonderful event there was still a whole prehistory. At first I put the card on the bed, they simply didn’t react to it. I had to ask at the reception. They brought only clean pillowcases, put them on the table, left the same towels .I changed the pillowcases myself. I went to the reception 3 times within an hour asking to change the towels, they promised to send us a maid, but no one came. I had to look for the maid myself and change the towels, because they had been wet for several days. We were never given swans or decorations. The mini bar was not updated regularly. We drank 1 bottle of beer and a can of Sprite on the evening of check-in, the bar was replenished only 3 days later. The bathroom has a very small shower stall. It was difficult for two of us to fit in it with a child, because .he still doesn’t wash himself. The bottles and boxes in the bathroom weren’t renewed either, but we didn’t need to, we took everything with us.
Elevator.
Panoramic, completely glass, beautiful to look at! But it was constantly breaking down. Constantly crowded. Stuffy. It was filled with people like sardines in a barrel. And, in general, the hotel was very crowded. Queues everywhere! It’s stuffy on the floors. The corridors are covered with old carpet , which is already trampled and stained everywhere. The upholstered furniture on the floors is also quite old and shabby. Ventilation works poorly everywhere.
Reception.
There are Russian-speaking staff. Wi-Fi works through the roof even in the lobby, it doesn’t work anywhere else. Moreover, setting it up was a real problem, it was set up only on the 3rd day with the help of Russian-speaking girls at the reception. In the existing 2 restaurants (free ) a la carte is not possible. Registration is only on Mondays from 8 am and for the whole week. I left my sleeping child alone in the room and went to register at 7-30 in the morning. There was already a queue at the registration counter. Seats in the restaurant run out quickly, because there are a lot of people willing. The a la carte restaurant itself consists of a small number of tables on the street. The waiters serve the menu, but very slowly! We visited a fish restaurant. From seafood there was only a small portion of shrimp and squid rings in batter. For the main course, we chose grilled salmon steak (there were also dorado and pike perch to choose from). The drinks are the same as in the main restaurant. The food is nothing special, not original dishes of course and not even restaurant level. So maybe even don't try to get there)
Information about the return flight is reported at the reception after 18-30 on the eve of departure. There is a special folder with lists of departures, selected by tour operators. Thanks to Emil, a representative of our travel company, for promptly warning about the delay in the departure of our flight, although even at the reception there was no information it was. We were already sitting in the lobby and waiting for the bus to the airport, when he promptly sent us information on our phone via SMS, so we didn’t even have time to get nervous that for some reason they hadn’t come for us). They helped us take our luggage out of our room, the suitcase was packed in film for $7, things were put in a storage room, because our flight was late, and we checked out the room at 12 o'clock. Until the evening we could use all the services of the hotel. We rented a pavilion near the sea for the day, so as not to be completely left without a roof over your head, especially during the heat of the day.
Lobby
The furniture is shabby, torn in places, the carpet is worn. The waiters serve, if you just ask, the order is brought to the table. And so they pass by. The lobby is cool, the air conditioning is working. Every other day in the evenings there is live music, a pianist plays popular compositions of retro melodies. The atmosphere is it's pleasant and relaxing.
Bar-terrace
In the evening there is a very beautiful view of the garden and pool, the whole area is illuminated, a fresh breeze blows from the sea and there is a pleasant coolness there, music from entertainment shows can be heard. During the day, the heat is simply unbearable. There is also a pastry shop. In the evening at 10-30 the night music program begins .The music is quite loud until 1 am. Even local drinks are poured rather reluctantly and in small quantities, adding more ice. They will bring you a small portion once and are no longer suitable. It seems that everything is included, but you can’t get it according to your needs, you have to beg for what you need it is due and paid for. Such savings are very unpleasant.
Confectionery.
The baked goods are the same as in the main restaurant + ice cream at certain times during the day from 2-4 pm. There is a huge queue for ice cream. And the same situation - they give out certain portions.
Main restaurant.
Small. Overcrowded. Huge queues for distribution. At first glance it seems that there is a lot of everything. But the assortment is the same every day and it is simply spread out everywhere. Mainly chicken + turkey. From fish - grilled mackerel, grilled herring, very small dorado, sometimes river trout. Lots of greens, fresh vegetables, several types of salads that are not at all appetizing, a couple of side dishes + frozen semi-finished products, deep-fried (nuggets, croquettes, French fries, etc.). They also grill cutlets on the street, which even the skinny local cat wouldn’t eat! 2-3 types of desserts and seasonal fruits. There’s practically no service. You can’t wait for the waiters. If he brought the ordered drink once, he won’t be suitable again. It may not be suitable at all. It would have been easier to go and pour juice from the machine for your child. You literally beg for a glass of wine, but they don’t pour a full glass, they save money. On the first day they said that there was no wine. It’s a problem to find a free table for both breakfast and dinner. For lunch it’s more free because it’s open a snack bar in addition to the main restaurant. At breakfast there are not enough glasses for juice, utensils. There are terrible queues for pancakes and for making an omelet. For dinner once there was lamb, so the whole hotel was queuing for it. There is no dress code , although the administration regularly tries to remind about it by installing posters at the entrance to the restaurant. So there is one desire to quickly eat what is freely available and without queues and leave to freedom. It’s cramped, everyone collides with each other, carrying overflowing plates, as if they are eating for the last time and for the rest of their lives. On vacation, you want to eat in a relaxed atmosphere, without hunting for food and at a table to eat it, to sit quietly with a glass of wine and with good service. The tables look like they are knocked together from plywood, They resemble boxes for storing fruit, covered with a narrow cloth napkin on top. True, for each new client they change the napkin and put in clean cutlery.
Issue and exchange of towels.
Located near the main pool. Several times we tried to exchange towels before lunch during the specified working hours, but already at 12:15 (and the lunch break is listed from 12-30), the office was closed. Therefore, we had to adapt to the employee and drag ourselves to change towels in the heat after lunch instead of immediately going to the room to rest. I would like to note that even clean towels are somehow unwashed and have an unpleasant smell.
Main pool.
It’s too small. It’s impossible to swim. Everyone is jumping from the sides, diving, splashing, music is blaring from the radio room by the pool. There are no free sunbeds, everyone is busy with something, and no one is lying on them, their presence is simply indicated. We have adapted to sit on the edges of the flower beds near the pool .The water looks clean and warm. You can stay in the pool endlessly without getting out. At 12 o'clock there is a competitive type show in it. There is always a queue at the pool bar, and men always try to come from the other side of the queue and take everything for themselves without extra delays. The bartenders are different, some are friendly, some don’t want to notice. They also serve differently. Some will do a good job, while others will just throw in more ice, so much so that the drink no longer has any taste. But in the evenings, tables near the pool bar are served by waiters. But they also only come up once and if you ask. Once I ordered Baileys. They poured a centimeter of drink into a wide glass and put a huge amount of ice, but they did not react to the request for more. Once they refused to make a non-alcoholic mojito at all. , they said no. Sometimes you had to stand at the bar for a long time and wait for the bartenders to finish some of their business and begin to respond to your expectation.
Gözleme.
Queue. Always. You won’t want any gözleme! Just like in a bar, they don’t pay attention to customers. They can serve their friends who don’t stand in line, but just sit down on the sofas, and we stand and see all this... They work slowly , drink tea, talk... take breaks. The dogs bark, but the caravan moves on, they have nowhere to rush
Snack restaurant.
Located near the main pool. The assortment is the same every day - food from fast food restaurants: hot dogs, hamburgers, nuggets, French fries, pizza, coleslaw salad, spaghetti. The same problem with places and with waiter service. You can find a place to pick up food, but not get the coveted glass of cold beer with your snack, and end up sitting and choking on dry food in the heat, this is the type of vacation.
Beach.
The advantage of the hotel is its proximity to the sea. The beach is well-groomed. During the day they walk and collect cocktail glasses and water bottles, empty ashtrays, wipe tables under umbrellas. In the evening they level the sand, collect garbage, wash the paths. The sunbeds and umbrellas are new. The problem is that in the morning you have to get up at 7 am to secure a sunbed. Otherwise, after breakfast there will be nowhere to hide. But I found a plus for myself in this - to swim in the morning in a calm, clean sea without the fuss and crowds of vacationers. There is no toilet on the beach, you have to run to the pool. Bar also not on the beach. At the exit from the beach there is a shower and taps for washing feet. Along the beach there is a promenade, a lawn with planted palm trees, on the grass in the shade of trees there are sun loungers and colorful soft bags-ottomans. There are also paid pavilions for a comfortable stay. Beach quite wide, sandy, at the very edge of the water there are small pebbles. The sea is warm, the water is clear. Children flounder at the very edge of the water, the depth begins quite close to the shore, after 1.5-2 meters. Around 11 o’clock there are a lot of people on the beach and in the sea too. It becomes uncomfortable to swim near the shore, you get the complete impression of crowded Black Sea beaches of Soviet times. Although if you sail to the buoys, then there is complete grace there).
The only bad thing is that on the beach in the morning an invasion of all sorts of sellers begins. They walk along the sun loungers and offer various goods and services, endlessly thrusting advertising brochures. There is no safety and peace. And very intrusive photographers. They lie in wait for you everywhere and everywhere during the day!
Pavilions.
Price 30 euros. Supposedly with service. In the pavilion there are 2 sunbeds with mattresses, covered with sheets that are never changed, and on which people probably rest all season, a minibar the same as in the room, a table, 3 beach towels. Waiter at 9 o'clock brings a plate of fruit from the restaurant, 2 empty glasses and 2 clean plates. 2 times before 12 o'clock the waiter came and offered soft drinks from the pool bar. At 14 o'clock. brought ice cream. That was the end of all the service. We didn’t see the waiter again during the day. There are few people relaxing in the pavilions, mostly they are free. But for some reason, Turks vacationing at the hotel are accommodated in the free pavilions with the whole family without paying and no one gives them anything does not say this. They bring their own food and drinks from the snack bar there and relax noisily. This is a very unpleasant fact for those who paid for a private holiday in the pavilions. In general, it is comfortable to relax in the pavilions, it is not hot, they are well blown by the breeze from the sea .Nearby there is a clearing with grass, shady trees. Our holiday was spoiled by the Turks who illegally occupied the neighboring pavilion: they behaved like owners, talked very loudly, argued, laughed, smoked, eagerly discussed something, in short, with their arrival of comfort and peace In general, our holiday fell during Ramadan and there were a lot of Turkish guests in the hotel at the moment. And they were all very noisy and with the habits of the owners of life, which was very annoying, because I still wanted a calm and quiet holiday.
Territory.
Small, but well-groomed. The paths are washed, the lawns are mowed, the garden is watered. There are a lot of lawns, there is room for children to frolic. The entire infrastructure is well thought out and compactly placed. There are many cats. They can be found everywhere. There is even a cat house near the a la carte restaurant. Opposite the basketball court the fields have a labyrinth of green spaces. My son and I loved playing hide and seek there in the evenings. In the evening, small illuminated fountains also start working everywhere. The main pool is beautifully illuminated. Hanging lanterns on the trees turn on, palm trees are illuminated from below and the trunks look like the legs of giant elephants .A fabulous atmosphere sets in, like in the fairy tales of 1001 nights.
Waterslides.
The mini water park consists of 3 medium slides and a separate “cobra” slide. They go down from the cobra in circles, single and double. Many people fall from the circles, knock off their elbows and knees. There is a first aid kit nearby. There are a lot of children on regular slides, no one is monitoring their safety. Children ride as they please. Next to the water park there is a mini-club and an amphitheater.
Mini club.
An incomprehensible territory. Some kind of small enclosure behind a fence with a long table and benches on the sides. Open from 10-12 and from 14-16. There is absolutely no place for games. Mostly children are occupied with creativity: making pizza, baking cookies, drawing on T-shirts .It was Indian Day. We went horseback riding. In the evening there was a mini-disco and a movie. My child didn’t want to go to the mini-club. He went everywhere with me. And from 2-4 p.m. we had a quiet hour, we relaxed in the room, waiting out the heat .In the evening we went to a mini-disco (lasts 30 minutes. Every day the same songs. Girls animators show the movements, the children repeat after them) and once we went to the cinema, watched or watched the film "Beauty and the Beast". I would forbid letting to the cinema and an amphitheater with drinks, because you’re only afraid that someone will pour it all on your head. What actually happened, a full glass of this mud was poured on my child and then he sat there all sticky and wet (The cinema hall is quite decent, with comfortable armchairs. In the evenings we walked along the promenade along the sea, admired the starry sky, sat on beanbags, breathed the sea breeze, and swung on a swing chair. Particular fun was playing on beanbags, which in the evening were collected in a large pile on the gymnastics area near the amphitheater. A bunch of kids gathered there and everyone frolicked on these bags. For my 5-year-old son there wasn’t much entertainment. On the beach, children don’t lie on sunbeds, don’t sunbathe, they don’t need it. He’s not a fan of swimming in the sea - the waves It’s overwhelming. The main pool is not his height yet, it’s 140 cm deep for him. He’s still afraid to go on the slides, because he doesn’t know how to swim, and the pool where the slides go down is 120 cm deep. The children’s pool is too small, and the depth is only 30 cm and there is nothing to do there. Children are not allowed into the relaxation pool, entry is 16+.
Amphitheater.
Not enough for the number of hotel guests. Show time is held daily at 9-30 pm. The announcement of the show is posted on the information board near the main pool. There were great shows, there were also not so good ones, then we just went for an evening walk. Either way, it’s a nice time warm summer evening at a resort near the sea under huge stars in the velvety sky. After show time, the parties continued on the platform near the pool with live music or a disco. A couple of times there were parties in the pool and a laser show in a large clearing. These entertainments are still for a certain contingent of vacationers.
Animation.
There are enough and different events. The team really works from morning to evening. In the morning from 10 o’clock they welcome you to the beach, invite you to morning gymnastics, then to bocha, to darts, to beach volleyball, to shoot cans with an air rifle, to water aerobics, to a game show in the pool, in the evening they meet you near the restaurant for dinner, invite you to showtime, organize parties, etc. I didn’t really like the host of the events with a beard: not tactful, rude, annoying in the literal sense, with two hackneyed jokes for all occasions : when rewarding the winner with a bottle of wine, say that this is the Turkish Don Perignon and that the winner will receive a free breakfast or a free dinner. His approach to people is unacceptable, a complete lack of subordination. And also Kirill, always sleepy and lost, with an absent look, uncollected and disorganized. Walks around , as if in the water. Because of him, we missed the foam party, because he told us the wrong start time for the event. The child really wanted to go to it, but in the end they came when everything was already over. There were remains of the foam lying around and some of the foam was running around the wind through the bushes and grass. All the costumed characters in the action had already left, the show was over. It was a shame. I didn’t like the neon party because of the organization. They put a screen in the clearing, glowing tables, distributed neon bracelets and turned on music and a laser show. They also put it in the middle of the clearing on one table there were piles of champagne glasses. When they started pouring and handing out glasses of champagne, there was a crush. After the champagne was drunk, many left. There was no one in particular to dance. Mostly the animation team lit up and some people relaxed at the glowing tables drinking alcoholic drinks. The music was blasting and that was all...
SPA.
The SPA has an indoor pool, a free sauna and a hammam steam room, women's and men's locker rooms, massage rooms and a Turkish bath. We bought a peeling + foam massage + classic massage program. In the bathhouse, 4 people wash at the same time on the central stone. They do peeling and wash with water and all this dirt flows and pours under everyone currently lying on the stone. Then they do a type of foam massage using a device like a large bag of foam. But no massage is felt at all. They wash it with water from a ladle and that’s it, the procedure is finished. They take you out baths in the hall. They put you on a sun lounger near the pool until the massage therapist takes you for the procedure. The sun lounger is dirty and after the bath you still want to wrap yourself in a towel. In response to my request for a towel, they sent me to go outside to get it, to the main pool. Just a minute, I paid 30 euros for the procedure. The showers in the locker room are dirty, the toilets are dirty, the sinks are dirty and clogged, the mattresses on the sun loungers are stained. The locker rooms are full of people, those who leave the hotel late and the room has already been rented out, but continue to use the hotel services (they need a locker for storing things, a shower, a toilet, a sink, a mirror, etc.). I do not recommend the SPA program: the massage is done formally, for show. The attitude towards the client is not friendly, the usual money grab, the work is not of high quality.
There are a lot of vacationers. In terms of composition, these are mainly citizens of the Russian Federation and Turks, as well as Ukrainians, Belarusians, and many Kazakhs. It is difficult to relax 100%, because there are no appropriate conditions, the vacation is a little stressful: you literally have to fight for a place in the sun and take sunbeds from the very early hours, trying to find a place in an ala carte restaurant, standing in lines for a piece and crowding tables in a restaurant, your personal space is constantly being violated because the hotel is crowded, there are crowds everywhere, there are a lot of vacationers with small children and strollers, etc. d
But in general, there is a sea, the sun is shining, it’s warm, you won’t go hungry, they entertain you and somehow still serve you. So relax and have fun! In the evening you can stand on a wooden pier and listen to the sea, feel the touch of the breeze and the rustle of pebbles, admire the starry sky to the gentle sound of the surf and the palm trees will clap their palms for you.
Of course, in fact, the hotel does not correspond to the declared 5 stars. Moreover, I note that hotel representatives approached us with a request to write a good review about the hotel right from our vacation in the lobby. Yes, at some point we wanted to go home early, because we were just tired from such a quality holiday. But now all the minor problems have been forgotten and what remains are mostly pleasant memories of our Turkish holidays and some nostalgia and I want to return again to hospitable Turkey to the warm and gentle sea!
There is only one unclear fact. A week after arriving from this hotel, I received an email in Turkish from Crystal Tat Beach. It contained an invoice for some additional services for 30 euros. At the hotel we bought a pavilion for 30 euros, a spa program for 30 euros, took photos for 15 $, rode in a children's car for 10 $ (By the way, this car was broken, and the seller offered this broken car every day). I immediately paid for everything in cash. Upon checkout I didn’t have any debts from the hotel. It’s completely unclear who billed me and for what? The rest of the services that we used were all inclusive and they were included in the price of our trip.

The last time I vacationed at Tat Beach was in May 2016 and I had very good impressions of it. In May 19th, I also vacationed at the Crystal chain, but at the Paraiso Verde hotel in Bogazkent, I also liked it. Therefore, when the question arose about choosing a hotel for October and the Amoma.com reservation system offered a price for ten days at Crystal Tat Beach at 75,800 rubles. I made a reservation for two with a light heart, paid for it and began to patiently wait for a meeting with a previously favorite hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were stunned by the fact that our reservation was canceled by the reservation agent, our money had not been received into the hotel’s bank account, and we were refused check-in, asking us to pay for our stay again. As it turned out a little later, Amoma.com went bankrupt and abandoned thousands of customers around the world. To my calls for mercy, to the fact that I am a frequent guest of Crystal hotels, that I found myself in an unexpected situation that was not my fault (in the hope of understanding and at least some kind of discount, since I did not expect to pay the full amount again and had not prepared any money for this) , a short meeting was held at the reception, calls were made somewhere there (obviously to the management) and I (obviously assessing my hopelessness) were “kindly” offered a price 25% higher than the price of the already paid reservation. For a room of a lower class. When the hotel is not a quarter full. Great attitude towards guests, to say the least. Low bow and thank you! Since there was nowhere to go - neither I nor my wife expected such a turn of events at the beginning of the holiday and were not ready for it, I paid for accommodation for 3 days instead of 10, during which I slowly found and moved for the same price to a hotel c a magnificent room overlooking the sea, with excellent food and service (I recommend it to everyone) - Melas Lara Hotel, which Crystal Tat Beach is not even close to... The way of thinking and the lack of desire at the reception to retain a client when the hotel is not completely full is shocking. Objectively about the hotel itself. The area is large, green, and there is plenty of space to take a walk and spend your leisure time. The beach is quite comfortable, the pools are clean. The number of rooms is very, very tired and requires urgent updating. If the condition of the rooms themselves is even more or less tolerable, then the corridors are amazing! We have already written about the old, holey carpet here; the appearance of the doors and walls also leaves much to be desired. The cat house that was once the pride of the hotel stands on the side of the road, all lopsided and about to collapse. And so it is everywhere. But what shocked me the most was the restaurant. There are no special complaints about the work of the waiters, the rest is complete minuses. Just look at the price of sliced cheese that is not the first freshness, covered with some kind of mucus and covered with flies. Yes, and any other dishes - translation of products, because... They are not cooked tasty and their appearance does not cause profuse salivation. Watermelons (note that they are in season now) ran out on the first day of our stay and did not appear on the following days. The restaurant employee said so: “Watermelon Finish.” The problem is the same with other fruits - you won’t see pomegranates or persimmons, not to mention any other fruit delicacies, despite their ripening season. I asked the waiter to pour some water into the glasses at dinner... He brought the water in a one and a half liter bottle and poured it into the glasses himself. Like service... When asked to leave the bottle on the table (in case I wanted more water), he reacted as if I had decided to rob the hotel, snatched it from my outstretched hands and quickly walked away. Minibar...its content is something! The room is designed for three, in the minibar there is one bottle of cola, one forfeit (0.33 each), one beer 0.25 (!) and two 0.33 water each. And this is for 10 thousand per day... In short, savings on guests in everything. I won’t write for a long time; everything has been written in previous reviews. Brief summary - this hotel costs a maximum of 6 thousand for two adults at the height of the season. Anything more is a clear overpayment. So make your own decisions - it’s not worth going to this hotel for a higher price. Well, in the future, of course, I myself will hardly have any desire to go to this hotel.
