This article is a personal photo review of a vacation at the Leonardo Inn Dead Sea hotel on the Dead Sea in Israel. Our reader was interested in her opinion about traveling to this hotel with a baby, so in my description I will try to focus on the details related to staying at the Leonardo Inn with children.

HotelLeonardo Innand its location on the Dead Sea

The Leonardo Inn Dead Sea is a three-star hotel in the Dead Sea resort of Ein Bokek in Israel. The hotel is located on the second coastline, on the map it looks like this:

Hotel Leonardo Inn on the map of hotels in Ein Bokek

The distance to the Petra Shopping Center is 250 m, to the beach – 500 m, to the village center where you can visit the public beach, Sky Blue Shopping Center, Paula Clinic and several cafes – 500 m (if you exit through the Taj hookah cafe Mahal).

The hotel has a landscaped green area, two outdoor swimming pools (for adults and children), and a natural solarium, separate for men and women. The hotel restaurant provides meals on a half board basis. Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout the hotel, and telephone calls can be made free of charge to 60 countries, including Russia.

Photo walk around the Leonardo Inn Hotel

The main building of the hotel has 4 floors. The first one contains common areas, the other three have rooms. The two-storey extension houses a restaurant and a solarium.

View of the hotel from the courtyard

We go into the hall. The photos turned out to be a little out of focus, but for the general idea I decided to publish them anyway.

From the hall there is access to the green area of the hotel.

Exit to the garden

Well, quite a nice little garden.

The green lawn is equipped with sun loungers and armchairs.

Everything would be fine, you can turn a blind eye to the shabbyness of the sunbeds, but they are completely crap with birds.

Geese live in the garden. They say that they are able to distinguish newly arrived guests from those who enter the garden not for the first time. Geese greet new arrivals with cackling sounds. I don’t know how it happens for others, but the geese just glanced lazily at us.

Immediately behind the lawn there are two swimming pools: an adult and a children's.

Showers by the pools

During the cold season (approximately November-March), the outdoor swimming pools at hotels in Ein Bokek are closed. Although it is not that cold during this period, sometimes you could go swimming.

It is prohibited to use the swimming pools in winter

The Taj Mahal hookah cafe in an oriental style is located by the pool. I indicated the prices of this establishment when.

We return to the hotel building to go up to the solarium. We go into the elevator. It's not very big, but I think it can fit with a stroller.

The elevator is quite shabby

The solarium (sunbathing area) is located on the roof of the building attached to the main building. The exit is on the third floor near the elevator. To get to the solarium you need to climb a narrow staircase. This is not easy to do with a stroller.

Kostya goes to the stairs on the roof to explore the solarium

Skin diseases such as seborrhea, dermatitis, psoriasis and others are treated in humans. Many of them are embarrassed by the manifestations of these ailments. To ensure that vacationers do not feel constrained while taking therapeutic sunbathing, the solarium at the Leonardo Inn Dead Sea hotel has separate areas for men and women.

Each solarium has sunbeds, fans, a shower, a washbasin, a refrigerator and a water cooler. All equipment and items are well worn and look sloppy. And the cleanliness leaves much to be desired.

To go to the toilet, you need to leave the private solarium area and go down to the roof.

Now let's go to the numbers.

There is a water cooler between the stairs and the corridor on each floor. However, the water smells of bleach or something like that, so it’s better to boil it before drinking, fortunately there are kettles in the rooms.

Numbers hotelLeonardo Inn Dead Sea

The hotel has 96 rooms located on the 2nd-4th floors of the hotel building. Almost all of them are the same. Let's take a look at one of them.

Let's go to our room

The room is not big. A baby's cradle, and even a stroller, will hardly fit. But the double bed is simply huge.

We were immediately confused by the strange door in the room. If you open it, you can see another similar door, only from the back side. And if you’re “lucky” and it’s open, then so will the neighbors. It turns out that the rooms of the Leonardo Inn hotel are paired with each other. The unreliable lock in the form of an ordinary door handle confuses me. I also read in the reviews that one woman lived in the hotel with a two-month-old baby, and the neighbors constantly smoked in the room, which made her feel smoky through the cracks in the doors. True, her number was eventually changed, but she had to fray her nerves.

Let's go into the bathroom. Everything seems to be quite decent here.

A soap and shaving cosmetic set awaits you in the bathroom. From the smell it seemed that the gels and shampoos were not the freshest. This is what cosmetics that have been stored for a long time smell like. Didn't use it.

Opposite the exit from the bathroom there is a wardrobe with a mirror.

Inside there is a safe, shelves, hangers.

Each room has: safe, mini-fridge, TV, kettle and replenished tea supplies.

There is also air conditioning. He is, however, quite old-fashioned.

And it is controlled not by a remote control, but by a special wall device.

A few careless details.

And rip out the remaining socket

Let's go to the balcony. He's very tiny.

Odd numbers overlook the Dead Sea, even numbers overlook the garden. The first odd-numbered rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors (rooms 101, 103, 105 and 201, 203, 205) have a beautiful view not of the sea, but of the trees. It looks something like this:

Although a tree can also be a plus in extreme heat, creating shade on the balcony.

Meals at the hotel

The Leonardo Inn hotel provides meals on a breakfast or half board basis. The hotel restaurant is located in an attached building, accessed from the second floor. We booked a room without meals, so I can’t give my assessment. In the reviews, guests respond very well to the restaurant, the quality and variety of food.

Beach and SPA complex

The Leonardo Inn does not have its own beach. However, at the reception they issue free cards for daily access to the beach and spa complex of the neighboring Hod Hamidbar hotel. The walk to it is 400 m (5-7 minutes). I described my impression in, you can read it.

Towels for spa treatments can be borrowed from reception at the Leonardo Inn. However, during peak hours they are quickly sold out, and you have to wait a long time for the next batch.

I read in recent reviews that at the end of July 2016 there was a fire in the SPA of the Hod Hotel. Instead of this complex, guests were directed to the spa at the Herods Hotel.

Car parking

Judging by the color of the markings, parking in the asphalt area near the hotel must be paid. In fact, hotel guests can use it for free.

We arrived in the evening, and the packing was busy. However, a new parking lot was being built very close by. There were a lot of empty spaces in the unfinished parking lot, so they left it there.

Our reviews of the Leonardo Inn Dead Sea Hotel

Based on this review article, it may seem that we have a negative impression of the Leonardo Inn Dead Sea 3* hotel. Not at all! Kostya and I are not picky at all. During our travel activities, sometimes we had to spend the night in such holes that this Leonardo Inn in comparison with them is a royal luxury hotel with 5+ stars. In this article, I simply tried to be objective, and then let everyone decide for themselves what is critical for them and what is not. If there is a need to save money, then next time we would not mind booking the Leonardo Inn hotel again, only this time with meals. 🙂

As for the reviews of other tourists, most of them note decent cuisine, outdated interiors, battered furniture and friendly staff. All guest reviews can be read on Booking using this link.

Prices for Leonardo Inn hotel rooms

Leonardo Inn Dead Sea is considered one of the most budget hotels on the Dead Sea in Israel. Prices are constantly changing throughout the year and are never fixed. Very often in winter there are discounts of up to 40%. If you book the day before or on the day of arrival, you can also get a room at a lower price. But during high season there may be no available rooms at all.

We managed to book the Leonardo Inn hotel in early January 15 minutes before arrival at the super price of $87 per night without meals. It is not often that you can get such a price in this hotel. Booked on Booking.

Prices range from $90 without meals to $200 with half board. If you are preparing in advance, then sometimes it makes sense to observe prices over a certain period. A discount may appear on any day, then you need to book.

For relaxation, you can consider and. How to choose - I wrote in the link.

I tried to give an objective review of the hotelLeonardo Inn Dead Sea3*. We stayed here for a short timerock, so some details may have been missed or some circumstances may not have been paid attention to. If you have something to tell about the Leonardo Inn Dead Sea hotel in Israel, share your reviews in the comments to the article.

Before the trip I was very nervous, having read recent reviews. I was preparing to endure and contain disappointment... I didn’t have to)) We vacationed with my mother and two children (1.5 and 6 years old). Everyone was satisfied) In general, the hotel is for two categories of guests - families with children (we got there during the holidays, so that there were a lot of families with three or more children) and elderly people for whom it is important to have a short route from the hotel to the Dead Sea. The hotel is perfect for these categories. There's not much else to do there. The hotel is in an “open field” (the desert to be more precise) - there is not even a promenade (but judging by the construction, there will probably be one soon). But our squad had enough of everything. Briefly about the pros and cons. Cons: 1. (main) Dirt in the children's playroom, in the cafeteria and by the pool. The cleaning service is so slow. And the playroom, in principle, was never washed (Toys and soft equipment), apparently never. This was upsetting. We didn't go. 2. The table is good for adults (especially those who love spicy food), but feeding a small child was sometimes difficult. There was a severe shortage of broths, and a small selection of fruits. 3. The freshness of the gowns issued raised doubts. 4. Old furniture in the rooms (the door in the hallway was broken, almost injuring the children). That's probably the main thing. Not disadvantages, but nuances that should be kept in mind: 1. You can stand at the reception for a loooong time - the administrators are extremely polite and do not always manage the time of communication with guests, especially the elderly)) and brawlers are generally calmed down in threes, while the rest of the guests wait. 2. All animation (average) is in Hebrew. 3. Lots of mosquitoes. Take the funds. 4. There is nowhere to go for a walk. 5. The rooms in the new wing are much better than in the old one. That is, it’s not worth fighting for the cheapest economy. We had a family deluxe (two rooms) - everything was fine. But I won’t say anything about the air conditioner - it is in both rooms, but we didn’t turn it on. Now the pros: 1. The sea is a few steps from the hotel. I don’t know any other hotels like this in Ein Bokek. The beach is well equipped and comfortable entry into the water (important for the elderly). 2. Large swimming pool + children's pool (very small and under a canopy) + water playground with trickles + 3 slides ala water park. This is where my son opened up... 3. In the pool area there are sun loungers, as well as beach beds with a roof and pillows - once you have time to take a seat, the buzz is guaranteed)) 4. Well, actually, all Inclusive. It was important for us to have access to drinks - juices (more like drinks), water, coffee. There was also beer and wine and soda. There is also ice cream at the bar. At the pool there was additionally pizza at 12.00, children's snacks at 11.00, sweets for everyone at 16.00, "night watch" at 23.00))) but we did not use these radars - it was too much. But there is a possibility. All food is of high quality and varied. They make coffee for breakfast. There is cocoa for children, but it is cold. 5. There is a spa center with a swimming pool with heated “dead” water, a Jacuzzi, and a sauna. There are also procedures for an additional fee, but we did not use this. 6. Sea view from the balcony. Beautiful. 7. The bathroom is well equipped, everything works perfectly. There is a tea set in the room. 8. Cleaning every day. 9. At the reception several administrators speak Russian. And in the dining room there was simply a wonderful administrator who helped in every possible way. 10. There are shops inside - cosmetics/toys/souvenirs, clothes (the price tag is quite high, but suddenly you need something urgently), jewelry. 11. There is a shuttle service to the center of Ein Bokek (shopping center, promenade and civilization in general). To summarize: if you don’t have any extra demands or expectations, then the Dead Sea is an excellent option for a holiday. In general, this is the only place with children (if only they could wash the playroom). We didn't want to leave and want to come back)
