The retractable roof allows diners to dine and entertain under the stars. Depending on the time of day, Higher combines two places in one: from 18:00 to 22:00 it is an excellent restaurant where you can taste modern international cuisine prepared by Phuket's well-known chef, Ronnie Makue.

Phuket is a gastronomic paradise for food lovers. The abundance of various vegetables and fruits, fresh seafood, as well as traditional meat dishes will not let any gourmet relax. Local food prices are somewhat higher when compared with Pattaya or Bangkok, but even here there are establishments where all tourists can cheaply and tasty enjoy fresh delicacies.

On different beaches, prices for the same dishes can vary significantly. Many vacationers think that the most affordable food prices are in Patong, but this is far from the case. The cost of meals in cafes on the beaches of Krabi, Kata and Karon is comparatively lower than in the well-known Patong. But on secluded beaches such as Banana Beach and Paradise, the average check at catering establishments can increase significantly. This is not due to the high quality of the dishes offered, but due to the lack of competition. You can eat very cheaply on Chalong, but you can’t swim there - it’s a technical beach.

Where to eat inexpensively in Patong

There are several places in Patong where you can have a hearty meal without breaking the bank:

  1. The main favorite place for tourists where you can eat delicious and varied food is rightfully considered the night market, which opens its doors after sunset. It is located behind Jungceylon Shopping Centre. Here, ordinary tourists are amazed by the variety of products. Exotic fruits and vegetables, meat, seafood, everything is very fresh. There are special places in the markets where the products you buy will be immediately prepared. There are also mobile stalls that offer skewers of meat and seafood, fresh pastries and inexpensive drinks. Prices for products are below average, but even they can be brought down if you skillfully bargain with sellers. Pastries from 20 baht, soup from 30 baht, grilled meat - 40 baht, seafood - 60 baht.
  2. You can have a budget snack on food familiar to Europeans by buying it in one of the supermarkets. One of the most famous is “7/11”. There are donuts, sandwiches, sausages, salads, rice, noodles and baked goods. If desired, the sellers will warm up the products you purchased. This option is also perfect for tourists with children, since supermarkets mainly sell food that is very familiar to European people.
  3. You can have a quick and tasty meal in street cafes or at the food court. You can buy a meat dish with a side dish for 80 baht, seafood for 90 baht. Drinks are expensive, for example, coffee from 75 baht. Such establishments exist on almost all popular beaches of the island, as well as in large shopping centers and entertainment venues.

  1. Makashnitsa is a separate place that is worth mentioning, where tourists can eat cheaply. They can be found in any corner of the beach and its surroundings, their food is tasty and fresh. The cost of a serving of soup is about 40 baht, noodles with meat ingredients are about 50 baht, and grilled food starts from 10 baht. All food will be packed for you in a special container, which is convenient to go to the beach with.
  2. You can often find food vendors on the beach itself. They offer rice, noodles and seafood at low prices. The main advantage is that you don’t need to go anywhere, they will find you on the beach themselves. From such sellers you need to carefully monitor the quality of the products; sometimes you come across spoiled ones.

Food will cost a little more in separate cafes. The cost of a second course here will be around 200 baht. But you can save money by taking one side dish without meat. In this case, a portion of food will cost about 80 baht.

In restaurants, the average check per person fluctuates around 500 baht. They are best to go to when you want to have a romantic dinner and admire the sunset. In Phuket there are specialized restaurants that serve only seafood or national cuisine, and there are those where you can taste crab, sushi and Italian pizza at the same time. Usually, the average bill in such establishments is much lower, but the quality is often far from ideal.

The best restaurants and establishments in Phuket

Restaurants in Phuket are very diverse both in menu and in average price tag. You can find small and cozy places where the average bill will not exceed 400 baht, while others are very pretentious and advertised, where the price of a dish starts from 1000 baht. Due to the abundance of tourists from the countries of the former Soviet Union, restaurants with names of dishes familiar to Russian people are increasingly opening in Phuket. So, for example, wonderful dumplings are prepared in “Tropikoza”, and delicious belyashi in the “Baron” restaurant.

On one of Karon's favorite beaches, you can visit two more restaurants serving Russian cuisine. These are “At Ksenia’s” and “Veranda”, which have a number of positive reviews from our compatriots.

There is another decent restaurant in Patong called Waithai. Prices for dishes here start from 80 baht. The restaurant serves fresh and varied seafood as well as traditional Thai dishes. The advantage of the restaurant is that it is located very close to the sea.

For those who love Japanese cuisine, Phuket offers to visit Fuji, Sukushi and Zen restaurants. They have a wide range of sushi, rolls, traditional soups and even seafood dumplings.

Without a doubt, the main restaurants in Phuket are those that offer Thai cuisine with a large variety of seafood, which is prepared directly in front of the diners. Here you can try sea fish, shrimp and king crabs. Local chefs prepare real works of art from Thai delicacies. And the main advantage is that everything here is fresh. A favorite restaurant that offers seafood is Patong Seafood, which is located on the beach of the same name. Among the visitors here you can see not only tourists, but also local residents, since even among them the restaurant is very popular. It is better to book a table at Patong Seafood in advance. Also, among the famous seafood restaurants are Baan Rim Pa and the Blue Elephant.

Italian restaurants are considered one of the popular places in Phuket. Here you will be offered pasta, traditional pizza and many other dishes. The most famous are “M&M” and “Margarita”. The last restaurant is prepared by a chef from Italy.

Friends, if you are looking for unlimited seafood in Patong, I advise you to visit unlimited buffet in Patong on the 3rd line. The name of this establishment is “The Dome”, the sign as in the photo is “Buffet BBQ, all you can eat”. This is a great and inexpensive unlimited cafe in Patong. Opening hours: from 16:00 to 4:00. Exact GPS coordinates: 7.894947, 98.302470. They have a Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/saymalai/.

Unlimited cafe in Patong “The Dome”

You can find an unlimited cafe by reading “Thai hotpot BBQ”. We noticed him by chance on the last day, since we lived 1 minute from him in a hotel. But since this cafe is not on any map, we went further to another one.

Here food costs 249 baht (***update: they raised the prices, now 280 baht), this price only includes a saucepan on which you can cook everything. A piece of lard is placed on top of the saucepan, and you can fry meat or seafood there. Grill is an additional charge and costs 100 baht. The food selection here is very decent and everything is laid out beautifully. Compared to where the cost is 250 baht, the difference is huge. This buffet is much more decent, there are a lot of tourists, although, I repeat, this establishment cannot be found on the map. How did they know about him? Apparently they came on a recommendation.

By the way, in all unlimited cafes there is a fine for leaving food on the plate - 100 baht. It’s better to come up 10 times and take a little food each time than to pick up a bunch at one time and not be able to handle it.

Unlimited seafood in Patong

The food to choose from looks very decent, but not live, of course. Seafood includes crabs, sea clams, mussels, shrimp, lobsters, fish, squid and shells. They lie in ice for a reason!

A large selection of other products, three types of meat in different versions, chicken skewers, there are even mushrooms wrapped in bacon, crab sticks, greens, a lot of things, we were pleasantly surprised. Several sauces to choose from - hot and even hotter. 🙂

A large selection of ready-made dishes - salads, battered meat, battered shrimp.

Desserts include cute fruit skewers and ice cream.

BBQ in Patong

All food is cooked in an unlimited café in a saucepan and on a grill, which costs 100 baht separately. We always take the grill, although often everything sticks to it, seafood “shoots” when fried, well, nothing.

This unlimited cafe in Patong left only a pleasant impression. A very decent establishment, especially when you have something to compare it with.

Unlimited buffets in Phuket on the map (as well as shops and markets)

The map shows unlimited cafes and shops in Phuket. Open through the Google Maps application, you can immediately get directions from your location.

By the way, the GPS coordinates of all buffets in Phuket are indicated. I advise you to read

Whatever your taste, you'll find somewhere tasty and cheap to eat in Patong. Of course, Thai cuisine is the most widespread in Patong, but you are sure to find Russian cuisine and other famous world cuisines here as well. However, the cheapest ones are usually the local dishes. So, if you want to eat deliciously and cheaply in Patong, then we advise you to pay attention to the cafes and street vendors who sell local dishes in Patong.
Cafes in Patong can be found anywhere. It is difficult to walk even 20 meters along one of the main streets of Patong without seeing some cafe. However, if you want to eat cheaply in Patong, you should remember one rule - cheaper cafes are usually located away from the beach. In addition, you should remember that cafes in Patong hotels offer very high prices. Therefore, if you want to save on food, we advise you to find one or more cafes near your hotel. Constantly visiting such cafes will ultimately allow you to save several thousand baht during your entire vacation.
Most cafes in Patong offer a menu dedicated to a specific cuisine, but even in such cafes there is often a selection of, so to speak, non-thematic dishes. Most cafes in Patong offer a large selection of Thai dishes in addition to dishes from the main menu.
If you want to try Russian cuisine, then in Patong you will find several cafes that offer such dishes. Although, as a rule, the dishes here are very tasty, you won’t be able to eat cheaply in such cafes, since a two-course lunch or dinner will cost an average of 500 baht per person. What Russian cafes are there in Patong? There are several of them. The most famous are “At Ksenia’s” and “At Uncle Yura’s”. The cheapest Russian cafe, as it seems to us, is the Kolobok cafe. True, this is a rather small cafe, which is located away from the beach.
For those who want to eat tasty and inexpensive food, Patong has a great place - the night market, where you can buy dishes prepared right in front of you. The prices here are very low, and the choice of dishes is very large. Rolls and sushi can be bought for 5 baht apiece, and all sorts of kebabs from chicken, shrimp, frogs, etc. can be bought for 30 baht per skewer. Here you can easily eat for 100-150 baht per person.
Do you prefer to eat in luxury restaurants? Patong has a large selection of similar restaurants where you can order all kinds of delicious dishes, even Peking duck.
If you decide to book a hotel without meals, then, of course, you will have a question about where to have breakfast in Patong. Fortunately, this is not a problem, so you can go to almost any hotel and have breakfast there. The cost of a set breakfast or buffet breakfast is usually low. For example, in an inexpensive 3-star hotel you can have a buffet breakfast for only 150-250 baht.

Food court in Patong

The most famous food court in Patong is called Food Bazaar and is located in the Jangceylon shopping center. It is generally accepted that the food court in Patong is a place where you can eat cheaply. But I do not agree with this statement, since there are many places here where the prices for dishes are lower. For example, in Food Bazaar, noodles with shrimp cost 120 baht, but in some cafes you can order the same dish for 100 baht. However, Food Bazaar is a pretty pleasant place, so in terms of the ratio of dining conditions and prices, this food court is really a good place for those who are used to saving money, but do not want to eat in Thai street cafes. If you want to eat cheap and tasty in Patong in a nice place, then Food Bazaar is a good option for you.

Buffets in Patong

If you want to eat at a buffet, that is, you are interested in an unlimited buffet, then you will find many such places. Who is suitable for buffets in Patong? Of course, for those who are used to eating to their fill. Do you miss buffet dinners in Turkish or Egyptian hotels? Then you can visit some buffet restaurant in Patong.
I’ll say right away that Patong has buffets to suit every taste and budget. There are even buffets for Thais with very low prices, but such buffets are located mostly away from the center of Patong, and you can only get to them by your own transport. You can, of course, take a taxi, but there is no point in doing so, since you will end up spending more on food than if you went to a cafe in the center of Patong.
The most expensive buffets in Patong are offered, as you might guess, in 4- and 5-star hotels. For example, at a Holiday Inn, a buffet dinner can cost between 700 and 1,100 baht per person, depending on the theme of the buffet. The most expensive buffet is the seafood buffet.
In the center of Patong there is a good buffet at the Sleep With Me hotel. It offers a buffet right in the hotel courtyard. The cost of the buffet is 400-600 baht per person (again depending on the theme). Although some grilled dishes are always offered here (for example, shrimp can even be on a regular buffet), in general, the selection of dishes is small. But there is live music here.
How to find cheap buffets in Patong? The easiest way, of course, is to walk the streets and pay attention to hotel advertisements. It's not uncommon to see something like "Buffet 299 Baht". You can also enter data about a tour to Phuket into some tour search engine, select only Patong Beach and set the meals to HB. All of the cheapest hotels in your search will most likely offer a dinner buffet.

Sushi in Patong

If you are a sushi lover, then Patong is the place for you. You can eat sushi anywhere here, and the prices for such food here are low. Of course, in expensive hotels and luxury restaurants the cost of sushi will be high, but you can buy sushi at night markets (5-15 baht per piece) or go overeat in Jangceylon, where there is a restaurant with unlimited sushi.

Fruits in Patong

You should remember that in Thailand different fruits ripen at different times of the year, so you shouldn't expect to see all the fruits of Thailand in one place in Patong. In general, there are no problems with fruits here, but prices have recently become quite high. If you go to Patong from mainland Thailand, you can see merchants along the road who sell fruit at a price 3-4 times lower than what you will see on the most famous beach of Phuket.
Where to buy cheap fruits in Patong? Probably the best place for this is the Malin Plaza market.

A new, just opened restaurant is glad to welcome you both day and evening.

Restaurant "House by the Road"

Road House Restaurant is located on Patong Beach. It serves Russian and Thai cuisine and has an outdoor terrace overlooking the sea. The establishment is famous for its hospitable and responsive owner, who helps visitors not only with the choice of dishes, but also with entertainment and excursions. At the House by the Road, guests can taste authentic Russian borscht and dumplings, drink tea with pancakes from a samovar, sing karaoke, and also use the services of a travel agency located at the restaurant.

The inviting interior, cozy teak furniture, pleasant live music and attentive staff create a unique spiritual atmosphere. The walls of the establishment are decorated with photographs of guests; here you can read Russian newspapers and books, and watch Russian films. The collection of Russian karaoke songs at the Roadhouse is the largest on the entire island.

Restaurant Beach Bar Phuket

Restaurant Beach Bar Phuket is a very quiet and relaxing restaurant, far from the bustle of Thailand. It offers tourists delicious food and fairly fast service. Here you can eat mainly freshly caught seafood dishes, which are distinguished by their special taste and reasonable price. International cuisine is presented here: Asian, French and Italian, so every visitor can find a dish to suit their taste.

This restaurant employs exotic Thai women who greet everyone with a smile and quickly bring food and cocktails. Like most Thai restaurants and eateries, this establishment is located next to the beach, so many here not only have a delicious lunch, but also enjoy the beautiful sunny panorama. Most of the tables are right on the sand, and at night, dining at an open-air table is a truly romantic and impressive experience.

Sam's Restaurant

The Thai Sams Restaurant, located in the hotel, offers its visitors exclusively meat dishes, and clients, in turn, are satisfied with the speed of serving the dishes, the friendliness of the waiters, the cleanliness and beautiful interior of the establishment. Experienced visitors are well aware of spicy Thai food, so they advise you not to drink it with water, but to eat it with rice.

Sam's Restaurant is one of the leading restaurants in Phuket, and the most delicious dishes here are considered to be beef dishes. Here you can order steaks, kebabs and other various hearty meat dishes. The décor is reminiscent of Chicago steakhouses, with dark wood and colorful stones.

It is worth noting that the wines in the restaurant are expensive, but you can have a good lunch here at a very reasonable price.

Restaurant "99 Seafood"

99 Seafood Restaurant is one of the most popular seafood restaurants in Thailand. "99 Seafood" is located on the island of Phuket, in the small resort town of Patong.

The restaurant is located not far from the coast, right in the open air. "99 Seafood" offers its visitors a huge range of seafood dishes - fish soup, lobsters, fried mussels, squid, oysters and much more. The proximity to the ocean guarantees the utmost freshness of all ingredients, so there is no need to worry about the quality of food here.

“99 Seafood” also pleasantly surprises with its prices and excellent service. The restaurant staff is very friendly and all the waiters speak fluent English. The menu is also written in English, which is very convenient from the point of view of tourists. The restaurant opens at noon and serves visitors until late at night, closing at dawn.

"99 Seafood" is a great place that enjoys deserved popularity among all fans of fish delicacies. Here, reasonable prices are combined with excellent cuisine and captivating care for foreign tourists. For gourmets, this restaurant is a real find.

Acqua is a popular Italian restaurant in Phuket. The laconic interior of the restaurant is designed in clear geometric shapes, making it look very fashionable and modern.

The restaurant specializes exclusively in Italian cuisine and offers guests a large selection of appropriate dishes and desserts. A significant part of the menu is occupied by various types of pasta and ravioli, made according to different recipes and with different fillings.

Acqua is ideal for a friendly dinner, a business lunch or a romantic date. However, you must make a reservation before visiting.
