Hidden among the stately mountains of the Caucasus, the urban village has the colorful name Krasnaya Polyana. One of the most popular and cozy resorts in Sochi seduces its guests with both a winter fairy tale and the unique summer mountain heat. The mild climate and unique mountain landscape of the resort are perfect for hiking trips in large groups and for preventive health improvement for the whole family.

Amazing place

Many people visited the Adler district during the winter cold, but no less of the tourists know how beautiful Krasnaya Polyana is in the summer. Local residents or guidebooks can advise you on what to see during the warm season. But the best option remains a pre-thought-out scheme for getting to know the resort. After all, everyone has their own unique concepts of beauty. Therefore, it is difficult to accurately adapt to the opinions of all travelers.

Krasnaya Polyana in summer. What to see?

At its core, Krasnaya Polyana is a cluster of several colorful districts that have modern, well-established road and rail connections. The lower part of the resort is rich in hotel buildings and food establishments for a complete and pleasant stay.

Aviary complex

What can you see in Krasnaya Polyana in summer? You should definitely pay attention to one of the most inspiring places in the Caucasus - the open Aviary complex. It is located on the right wide bank of the fast-moving Achipse River. The complex features a well-groomed enclosure with indigenous animals of the Caucasus, but as close as possible to natural conditions. Good-natured guides will not only warmly welcome their guests, but will also introduce them to the habits of all the animals, talk about their habits and the necessary conditions for living.

A trip to the territory of the Aviary will be useful and interesting not only for young tourists, but also for accompanying adults. A raccoon dog, a graceful lynx, majestic Caucasian bison, gorgeous bears and deer will happily greet all visitors and help them understand the full flavor and spirit of the mountainous area, because the complex is open to visitors all year round. the good-quality territory of the enclosure brings a lot of pleasure: foliage and grass cover give the picture an indescribable warmth and color, allowing you to thoroughly enjoy the company of animals.

Akhshtyrskaya Cave

The best place for an educational family holiday will be Krasnaya Polyana in the summer. What to see? Reviews from tourists will help you navigate very quickly. For example, people recommend another place not far from the complex - the ancient Akhshtyrskaya Cave. Several tourist guides kindly conduct excursions around it. The cave is one of the brightest, and most importantly, the first, multi-layered monuments of archaeological significance. It has long been studied by specialists, so while walking along it you can hear the most interesting facts about Paleolithic times.

Dzykhrinskoye Gorge

Many lovers of mystical and inimitable places are attracted by the summer Krasnaya Polyana (Sochi). In summer, many tourists know what to see in these places. One of the sacred places of the Caucasus in this area is the Dzykhrinsky gorge, which was formed at the site of the once turbulent confluence of two rivers - the Mzymta and Psou. Incredibly beautiful nature, majestic mountain grins, inimitable beauty water, a wooden bridge stretching across the gorge, a serpentine new highway - all this creates an indescribable atmosphere of a mountainous region, rich in mysteries and real secrets.

Mineral water sources

According to reviews from many visitors, the main trump card remains balneological treatment, for which Krasnaya Polyana has long been famous. In the summer, it’s very easy to determine what to see for those who come in search of health and longevity. After all, this area is rich in sources of mineral water, which qualitatively corresponds and approaches the composition of the famous Caucasian mineral waters. Previously, Krasnaya Polyana was famous for its centuries-old culture of pilgrimage to mineral water sources. After construction began for the Olympic Games, routes and opportunities for people were sharply limited. But you can still enjoy a large number of sources.

Lakes Kardyvach and Maly Kardyvach

Water resources and the colorfulness of the area are one of the most important trump cards that Krasnaya Polyana happily shares in the summer. It’s not at all difficult to determine what to see on your own in this area. Lake Kardyvach of fantastic beauty has been attracting tourists to its expanses for many decades. Located at an altitude of 1850 meters from sea level, this reservoir is as much as 500 meters long and 300 meters wide. The maximum depth of the clearest water of the lake is 23 meters.

Granite rocks serve Kardyvach as faithful guard, and majestic birch trees, spreading fir trees and alpine herbs decorate it on all sides. A little higher, at a seemingly prohibitive height of 2472 meters, is Lake Maly Kardyvach. Its waters are not only of pristine purity, but also mixed with ice fragments. In winter, the lakes are covered with a strong layer of ice and give the area magical beauty.

Headwaters near the Achipse River

In June, many rush to visit the area of the sources of the Achipse River, for which Krasnaya Polyana is famous in the summer. What do tourists want to see? The answer is quite simple: due to the melting of snow covers, the Achipse River collects a colossal amount of clean water. It falls from a height of 2000 meters onto the mountain steps, thereby forming two majestic waterfalls, which are called Brothers Waterfalls. You can get to the valley of the river's water branches on foot from the equally popular Khmelevsky Lakes.

By the way, they are the calling card of the resort. The lakes are located at a colossal height among the mountain ranges, they are accessible only to hikers and rugged off-road vehicles.

Skypark A.J.

There, in Sochi Park, there is one of the most enchanting modern recreational places - the skypark. What can you do here? A modern, well-thought-out rope park, adventure bungee jumping, a world museum of this sport, as well as the highest and most breathtaking swing. This is all waiting for tourists.

Professional guides with many years of experience and unsurpassed sensitivity will help each client overcome fear or anxiety and fully enjoy the opportunities in the park. The park is open daily from 10 am to 6 pm, which makes it possible to spend daylight hours on its territory.

Krasnaya Polyana has many historical, cultural and natural attractions that every self-respecting tourist should definitely visit. Writers and public figures of the Soviet Union once loved to spend all their free time here, celebrities were treated, and residents of the vast country from different parts of the country simply came to admire the picturesque nature. Today we’ll talk about what you can see in Krasnaya Polyana and tell you a little about some of its attractions.

Perhaps the oldest attraction, the creation of which ancient settlers had a hand in, are dolmens. These are unusual structures made of stone in the form of wells or dugouts, which consist of multi-ton slabs and rocky sculptures. By the way, scientists have not yet come to a clear conclusion regarding the purpose of unusual structures. The Krasnopolyansk dolmens are located in the Krestenyukova tract, which is not so easy to get to. Experienced guides suggest combining visits to stone buildings with hiking in the mountains. If you are only planning to visit this monument of ancient civilization, go to the stop on Zapovednaya Street. From there you will need to walk about 3.5 km along a dirt path, and then turn off and walk about another kilometer to the forest.

House-Museum of A.H. Tammsaare

All admirers of the Estonian writer’s work should visit this place. The museum is located in the village of Esto-Sadok and tells not only about the work of the writer, but also about many domestic literary and cultural figures of the last century. Of genuine interest is the very design of the house-museum, which with its atmosphere seems to immerse everyone who enters that era and makes them think about many things. Rare photographs about ancient events are posted everywhere here, including those that told about some events in the life of the settlers. You can find the museum on Estonskaya Street, where it occupies house number 35. Visitors are welcome here from Friday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Imperial Hunting Palace

A hunting house was designed especially for Nicholas II at more than a kilometer altitude above the sea. Although outwardly the house does not resemble a spectacular imperial residence and does not in any way hint that Nicholas II spent a lot of time here, it still arouses a certain interest from tourists. The three-story building in the style of a British villa was created in just a couple of years. Near the house there were other buildings intended for hunting and preparation for it - a huntsman's house, guard buildings, a wall for protection. The groves located in the vicinity were declared forbidden, were protected and only members of the royal family had the right to hunt in them.

Unfortunately, order on the territory of the hunting lodge was maintained only in Soviet times. As soon as the property was transferred into private hands, the palace and other buildings were destroyed and abandoned. Only in 2013 did restoration work begin and tourists got the opportunity to visit another interesting historical site of Krasnaya Polyana. If you are planning a hike without a guide, your route will run through the recreation center of the same name. From the sanatorium you will need to climb the hill and follow the signs. There is no transport going to the house, there is no road, so you should rely only on your own strength.

Museum of Local Lore

The initiator of the creation of the museum of his native land “Krasnaya Polyana” was the historian and local historian B. Tskhomaria. It is worth noting that he was not just a public figure with an active life position, but also a concerned citizen, a patriot of his region and an honored teacher. That is why the collection initially had a school format, but later began to expand thanks to additions of exhibits from private collections and the results of archaeological excavations. At the moment, the collection includes at least 18 thousand items of various historical and cultural significance. Many teaching staff and schoolchildren were involved in the creation of the collection.

The most popular among visitors is the Hall of Military Glory, in which military exhibits, samples of weapons, as well as personal belongings of commanders, privates, military officers and even heroes defending the city are on display. The museum's merits include winning the competition for the title of the best patriotic museum in Russia, which the exhibition was awarded in 1998. Finding the museum is very easy. It is located in a recognizable building on Turchinsky Street at number 42. You can get there either by public transport or on foot (if you are staying near the attraction).

Cultural and ethnographic center "My Russia"

It is under this name that the cultural and ethnographic center in Krasnaya Polyana is known. After the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, the center was closed for a while and was even forgotten a little. But in 2015, interest in it was revived, tourists were again able to visit the well-groomed territory, the restaurant, and study the buildings, the construction of which used different architectural techniques and trends.

It is here that you can see and appreciate copies of such iconic buildings as the Moscow and Kazan Kremlin; a courtyard with a wicker fence and a thatched roof of the house, which seems to transport all visitors to the Kuban outback; Ural brick factory; Buryat datsan and many other buildings and structures characteristic of different regions of the country. To get to the center, tourists should get off at the Rosa Khutor public transport stop. There is also car parking for those traveling by private car. Next you need to walk for about 10 minutes along the left embankment. But they won’t take money for visiting the attraction.

Mineral spring Chvizhepse

This natural source of deep fresh water is located in the floodplain of the river of the same name in a place called Bear's Corner. A uniquely beautiful place that amazes with the variety of meadow grasses and other vegetation. But tourists come to these places not for the picturesque landscapes, but to enjoy the unusual taste of the water. In addition, the spring is famous for its healing properties. This may be due to the fact that water rises to the surface from a depth of several hundred meters. Another interesting fact is.

Those who tried water for the first time say that to drink it you need to force yourself to take the first sip. But it’s worth it, because as a reward a person receives substances and minerals that help renew the blood and renew the protective walls of the stomach. According to the locals, arsenic was found in the water in greater quantities than is safe for the human body. When it became necessary to sell bottled water from the source, measures were taken to reduce the content of this dangerous chemical element.

A visit to Chvizhepse is not free, but this does not in any way affect the number of people who want to get to this picturesque and healing place. You can first get to the natural attraction by bus No. 135 from Adler to the Chvizhepse stop. If you start from Sochi, then look for bus number 105 or 186.

Social and cultural center "Galaktika"

This site was created specifically to entertain tourists who are tired of a leisurely beach holiday. Take one day to fill your heart with bright emotions! The entertainment center has everything you need: bowling, billiards, cafe, water park, cinema, ice skating rink and shopping area. And young tourists will certainly be delighted by the huge children's club, where children can expect bright adventures, educational games and activities with experienced teachers.

It is worth noting the impressive range of film shows at the cinema. There are several cinema halls here that offer viewing of films in 2D/3D/5D format. If you liked it, you can stay overnight or for several days in one of the nearby hotels, so that in the morning you can continue your entertainment activities with renewed vigor. The opening hours of the attraction are daily from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. A visit is paid and costs 100 rubles for adults and 600 rubles for children (prices are based on the whole day).

Achipse Fortress

Fans of archeology and vibrant historical events should definitely visit the ruins of the Achipse fortress. This place and its surroundings still bring grandiose discoveries to archaeologists, which is why geologists’ camps are always running here. Axes, knives, tools, clay products - all this and much more regularly ends up in “archaeological networks”. Tourists will be interested to look at the remains of an ancient structure, dilapidated walls and towers due to military operations and under the force of nature. You can get to this interesting place by minibus to the village of Esto-Sadok (for tourists traveling from Sochi, minibus number 105 is suitable). After getting off at the stop, move upstream of the Laura River. The walking route is about 3 km.

Olimpic village

The Olympic Village became famous thanks to the games in 2014, which became even more popular after this event. In the past - for athletes, but now for tourists, a whole complex of hotels has been built here with a Scandinavian interior and views of the snow-capped mountains from every room. There are cable cars leading to the village at an altitude of 1,170 meters, which you can use for free if you check into one of the hotels.

This place is more popular among skiers, but for nature lovers there is also something to enjoy - rivers, lakes, waterfalls, valleys and mountain ranges. From June to October there is a calm in the village, but still the Rosa Khutor recreation center is open to visitors. But in winter it will be difficult to book a room due to the large flow of people wishing to climb the peaks of the “Stone Pillar” (2509m) and “Rose Peak” (2320m) peaks, as well as affordable prices for accommodation from 500 rubles per day.

The Achipse waterfall, at a height of 60 meters, is represented by the source and tributary of the Achipse River, which in their location and flow resemble the English letter “V”. 2 small streams begin their journey slowly and flow in small paths into one stormy mountain stream, which is why they got their name. This natural attraction is located not far from Mirror Lake, but the path to it is laid through several forks, among which an inexperienced traveler can get lost.

From May to October, guides take groups of 10 people there on three-day excursions, stopping overnight in the mountains along the way. You can get a pass to these places yourself for a price of 200 rubles. The 12-kilometer route in both directions and 400-meter elevation changes require comfortable shoes, a hat and sunscreen, as well as plenty of food and water - the place is untouched by civilization and there is nowhere to get food.

The waterfall has this name due to the legend about the love of an ordinary girl for a mountain spirit, who were not destined to be together due to the envy of an evil witch. Refusing the old woman’s offer to break off relations with her beloved, the young beauty threw herself from a 13-meter cliff in the place where water now pours incessantly, breaking on the stones. Eyewitnesses of the waterfall note the “mirror” purity of the water and compare it to a tear.

6 km from Krasnaya Polyana, at the entrance to the old Krasnopolyanskoe highway, there is a right turn, following which you will stumble upon an amazing creation of nature, but it is better to organize a trip in autumn or spring. In the summer, the waterfall dries up and not only will you have nothing to look at, but you will also not be able to perform the ritual for unmarried girls who are recommended to wash their faces with this water in order to find a husband.

The highest waterfall in Sochi, and according to some sources - in Europe, is located on the northern slope of the Aibga ridge at an altitude of 72 meters. It is popularly known as “pants” or “heroes” due to its shape and strong seething streams during the snowmelt period. There are three ways to get there: making your way through abandoned forests and roads to the K-13 cable car; get to Gorka Gorod, and from there take a cable car to a height of 960 meters, which will take a couple of hours; buy a tour to the waterfalls for 800 rubles and be there in 15 minutes. For those who like to “dissolve” in nature, the first option is recommended, as you will be surrounded by breathtaking landscapes along the way. In the summer, tourists take swimsuits to take a shower under the falling waters of Polikar.

Not far from the village of Krasnaya Polyana there are three picturesque reservoirs, named after the Polish botanist, surrounded by mountains and meadows, the most curious of which is “Bolshoye”, which is only 2 meters deep, but occupies 1 square. km. territories. From a bird's eye view, neither it nor the other lakes (Western and Eastern) can be even noticed, since they are heavily overgrown with grass and leave only small islands of puddles. A walk will take 2 hours along a 13-kilometer route, and a trip in a rented Russian SUV will make it 2 times faster. Or you can buy a jeeping tour that will take you for about 9 hours around all the surroundings of Rosa Khutor, including the Khmelevsky Lakes, for 1,500 rubles.

The largest lake (133,000 sq. m.) in Sochi is not so easy to get to - the 44 km path from Krasnaya Polyana to it lies between two mountain ranges, and the gorge passes through dense forests, but photographs of hikers from the tour to Kardavych convince that it's worth it. For 8 months of the year, the lake is covered with ice and heats up to a maximum of 12 degrees Celsius at the height of summer, and the air temperature around Kardavych on the most sweltering hot days is 20 degrees.

The reservoir looks beautiful and frightening at the same time - in the ideal surface of the lake the bottom is visible from any vantage point, the water in it is crystal clear. Around Kardavych there are bears, deer and other living creatures, while not even fish live inside it. If you are lucky enough to visit here, take care of warm clothes and a pass to visit these and other places, since without it you will not be allowed here.

An independent hike to the Dzitaku Valley, also known as “Semiozerye,” will cost 1,500 rubles (for admission and use of the cable car) or from 5,000 rubles for a guide. The guides offer to do this route, including in the price of the excursion food, tents, trekking poles and everything else that is necessary when traveling through the mountains. First along a dirt road, and then making your way through the thicket of forests along the path, you will overtake the Bzerpinsky cornice, from where you will see the Aibga, Psekhako, Achishkho and Chugush ridges.

Before the subsequent conquest of the peaks, you can stay and relax in a rented tent (500 rubles per night) and watch the sunset and sunrise. Following the signs past thickets of rhododendron and shallow ponds, you will finally reach the Great Lake with an area of 20,000 square meters. m. At the very beginning of the path, you can turn along another path that goes to the Pseashkho ridge and the Tabunnoye plateau, Mount Kogot, and the Kholodny glacier. The recommended time to visit this valley is summer and autumn.

10 kilometers from the Krasnaya Polyana ski resort, Mount Achishkho from a height of 2390 meters above the ground will pamper you with its views of the surrounding expanses of the Black Sea and Abkhazia. On one side, “Horse” Mountain is covered with fir and beech forests, and on the other, the slopes are covered with meadows, small lakes and waterfalls. For beginners, experts in these places recommend the route through the Khmelevskie Lakes or the Bear Gate, and experienced extreme sports enthusiasts can pave the way along the Beshenka River or along the Greek spur, which is famous for its steep climbs.

According to the rangers, the beauty of wild nature is worth it. Achishkho and other attractions of Krasnaya Polyana are located on the territory of the Sochi National Park and are carefully protected, so for collecting plants listed in the Red Book, of which there are many here, for hunting wild animals and for catching fish, you may face criminal liability.

In 1993, on the slopes of the Aibga ridge, the very first ski complex prepared 7 trails of varying degrees of difficulty with a total length of 25 km. Since 2014, thanks to the Olympic Games, the complex began to actively develop, with cable cars for tourists, attractions, sightseeing tours, rental of snowboarding equipment, paragliding, ski jumping, hotels, restaurants and parking lots.

The Alpika administration offers to see the sights from a height of 2256 meters on observation platforms, which can be reached in two ways - using cable cars or climbing the mountains on your own on skis. On the same top there is a bathhouse with panoramic windows, which you can’t resist visiting. When children get tired of the mountain ranges, they will be offered a trampoline park and rental of ATVs, electric cars and other types of children's transport.

If early in the morning you are not lazy and follow the path from the Greek Bridge through beech and fir forests, subalpine meadows and streams, then after 4 hours the four famous peaks of Aibga will appear to you in all their glory, named after the Abkhaz tribes that once lived at the foot of these mountains. You can get to two peaks, the Black Pyramid and the Stone Pillar, by chairlift, or you can do it yourself, saving money. At the top you will receive a small reward in the form of a walk along the suspension bridge, as well as the opportunity to see foggy Russia on one side and sunny Abkhazia on the other. It will take a whole day to conquer all the points, but with the help of suspended trailers you can do it in half a day.

Water park with an area of 5000 sq. m. is able to completely replace seaside resorts, since in addition to heated white sand, beach volleyball and air temperatures up to 30 degrees, there are several pools that simulate waves. 7 slides, the longest of which is 50 meters, and a sea salt Jacuzzi pool are open to all visitors from the age of seven. For children up to a meter tall there are separate children's blocks with small water slides.

The park also houses Finnish saunas, salt caves, massage rooms, exotic spa treatments (fish peeling), a gym and a restaurant with Mediterranean cuisine. Children under 6 years old, birthday boys under 16 years old and children with disabilities are provided with free admission upon presentation of documents. The water park is open every day from 11:00 to 22:00 at a price of 1300-1500 rubles for adults and 800-1000 rubles for children. There are live entertainment events on weekends for which you must purchase a separate ticket.

This unique zoo differs from the rest in that the animals were not purchased for it, but were taken from poachers or sick or orphaned in nearby areas, after which they are treated by veterinarians and transferred for observation to the Caucasian Nature Reserve “Laura”. Accordingly, the diversity of species is limited by the surrounding habitat, but also among roe deer, lynxes, raccoons, wild boars and vultures there are rare individuals listed in the Red Book.

The Eco-Center also offers an interesting opportunity to take care of an animal, which means sponsoring it with food, toys, the right to choose a name for it and visiting the zoo for free. Here, in the cottage complex, you can rent a house, go to the bathhouse and rope park. Children under 7 years old do not need to pay for entry; for others under 14 years old, a ticket will cost 150 rubles, and for adults – 300. The aviary complex is available every day from 9:00 to 17:00.

“Honey Paradise” is the calling card and pantry of Krasnaya Polyana, from where it is impossible to leave empty-handed. Tourists buy tea, souvenirs, “folk” clothing, Orenburg scarves, Gzhel porcelain, designer wooden products and ceramics, dishes with Khokhloma painting and, of course, honey (from 200 to 5000 rubles) - linden, alpine, maple, chestnut, blackberry and with adding ingredients (pollen, nuts, prunes, ginger, dried apricots). The top ten purchases also include honey soap with various herbs and propolis, fur vests made of raccoon, fox and arctic fox from 25,000 rubles, ceramic mugs from Kuban craftsmen depicting local landscapes from 400 rubles. and herbal teas with mountain medicinal herbs and berries from 200 rub. per package.

Looking at the huge arch between the limestone layers, densely planted with broad-leaved and fir forests, one can believe in one of the versions about the translation of the name of this gorge - “the place where lightning struck.” The cultural and historical monument at a distance of 50 km from the city center brings not only aesthetic pleasure from observing the landscapes, but also historical value. It is known that the Kepshinskaya cave inside the gorge served as a refuge for people of the Paleolithic era.

In addition, monuments to the engineer Konstantinov, who paved the road to Krasnaya Polyana, now closed, and the Red Army are also located here and are a mandatory point of the program. You will follow the excursion points along a steep road along the mountain arches above the river, in which, according to local residents, salmon begin to spawn in mid-October.

The extreme park began its work in 2014 and is on a par with similar complexes in Australia, Germany, China, Singapore and France, that is, there are only 6 of them in the world. For adrenaline junkies, there is entertainment for every taste - skybridge (a walk along the longest suspension bridge in the world at an altitude of more than 200 meters above the river), freestyle bungee (jumping from a height of 69 and 207 meters on bicycles, from a gondola, with immersion in water) , rope jumping, gorge flying, a climbing wall, a rope park and a museum dedicated to extreme sports.

The owners of the entertainment center purchased the latest equipment for insurance and disabled people - now people with disabilities can also experience an unforgettable experience. There is an entrance fee of 1,250 rubles, but you need to pay extra for using each attraction separately (from 1,000 to 15,000 rubles).

The 10-meter wide river valley was formed as a result of an earthquake and is located in a remote place that can only be reached by off-road vehicle. Tourists who love a comfortable holiday or at least a hike along paved paths bypass the canyon - dozens of stone ledges covered with moss slide under their feet for 2 km. In a small azure-colored lake between two rocks, you can swim and have lunch at a nearby cafe, and then either return home or walk further and enjoy a shower under the falling waters of a stormy river. Entrance to these areas costs 100 rubles per person.

According to the Soviet archaeologist Zamyatin, the cave was once inhabited by Neanderthals, whose tools and remains were found within its walls. Then a natural disaster forced the “first” people to leave their “home” and they were replaced by bears, whose bones were also discovered in the cave. The monument of primitive culture above the Mzymta River (185 meters above water level) can be walked around in a few minutes and it will cost 200 rubles for an adult and 100 for a child.

A variety of categories of tourists come to the village of Krasnaya Polyana, located in the mountains 60 km from Sochi: those who love ski down the mountains , and those who just want take a breath of fresh mountain air . Some come by their own car, others prefer organized tours, and there are also those who get there by public transport (regular buses go here from Sochi).

Most tourists to these places are attracted by the legacy of the Winter Olympics in Sochi 2014. And this is understandable: to see with your own eyes those sports facilities from which television broadcasts were broadcast every day, and where our athletes competed for medals and became Olympic champions, is very interesting. But in recent years there have been many who simply fell in love with the local mountains for their amazing beauty, and now come here to relax without fuss and get a boost of energy.

For both those and others, the information that I share in this article will be useful - what can be see in Krasnaya Polyana and surrounding areas .

Krasnaya Polyana: attractions within walking distance from the resort

All attractions can be divided into those created by nature itself, and those that appeared in the local mountains through the efforts of man. Let's start with them.

Springboards Russian roller coaster

For example, Russian Hills jump complex . It is located on the northern side of the Aibga ridge, not far from the village and consists of two jumps K-125 and K-95.

This complex was built in record time - all stages of construction can be seen in colorful photos in the complex itself. And the warm winter with little snow that year almost ruined all plans. Many people don’t even realize what a difficult job it is - collecting snow and placing it on the jump. And how quickly it turns into mush in the bright sun!

You will learn about all this by visiting the ski jump complex with a tour. Its cost is about 500 rubles. You will be invited to visit the exhibition hall, watch videos and listen to the guide's story about the Russian Roller Coaster, as well as take the chair lift to the starting point and look down through the eyes of an athlete. Excursions do not operate every day, it is better to check by phone.

And for extreme sports enthusiasts it works on the trampolines tubing. Driving down one of the springboards, K-95, on a “cheesecake” at a speed of 60 km/h is not like riding down a hill on an ice rink! It is simply impossible to describe in words the sensations of going down the tube - you have to experience it yourself. The price for one hour of tubing is 550 rubles. The price includes everything: descents on a tube for an hour without restrictions, ascents to the starting point on a chairlift, rental of equipment (inflatable tube and protection), parking. In one hour you can go down the diving board 10-12 times.

Gazprom-Laura

Next, if you are interested in the sports facilities of Krasnaya Polyana, take a look ski and biathlon complex "Laura" , built by Gazprom in a unique natural area - on the Psekhako ridge. Climbing the mountain on a cable car resort Gazprom , you will see: a biathlon stadium, a ski stadium, ski and biathlon tracks. And from the top of the ridge you will see a wonderful panorama of the mountains.

Sankey Center

Best view of bobsleigh and luge track "SUNKY" with a length of 1814 opens from the A3 or K1-K2 cable car already mentioned above. In general, this is the first track in Russia for international competitions. There are only two dozen such tracks in the world. The Sochi track is the best, technologically advanced, safe: 1500 meters of downhill, 17 turns.

Ski lifts in Krasnaya Polyana

It’s worth visiting Krasnaya Polyana just to climb the mountain by cable car . There are many of them here, they work all year round. Each resort has its own lift prices. To figure out where you want to climb more or where it’s cheaper to do it, read these articles:

And if you are not a mountain fanatic and are not too interested in Olympic venues, then in the vicinity of Krasnaya Polyana you will also find routes worthy of attention. Now I will tell you what you can see even in one day.

Excursion to Krasnaya Polyana: weekend route

If you drive your own car, you can see a lot of interesting places in just one day.

I advise you to start from the very end of the valley and get to the year-round resort of Rosa Khutor. What you can see and do here, read in detail .

Then I advise you to turn off the new road onto the old one, which goes through the village itself Krasnaya Polyana.

The village is very well maintained and pleasant. It has all the modern infrastructure: shops, hotels, restaurants, swimming pools and bath complexes, gas stations and so on.

There are also historical objects, I talk about them in more detail in this article:

But further along the old road, about five kilometers from Krasnaya Polyana, is located Waterfall "Maiden's Tears" . This waterfall is not like the others, which impress with a powerful stream of falling water. Such as in this photo, it happens only in early spring - during the period of active snow melting in the mountains:

And at other times of the year, “Maiden’s Tears” flow down the 13-meter rock in the form of numerous thin streams, originating high in the alpine meadows, and continuing their path, after falling, in the fast Mzymta River. The water flowing over the stone blocks is crystal clear and very cold, because it is formed from the melting of snow high in the mountains.

The surroundings of the waterfall are full of colorful rags and ribbons tied on the branches of bushes growing nearby. They are left by those who believe in the fulfillment of their wish made near a magical place. There is a sign that an unmarried girl who washes herself with water from a waterfall will soon get married. It is not surprising that an excursion to this place is especially popular among the fair sex.

Further along the route there will be a sign to a place with the colorful name Medvezhiy Ugol. Turning off the road into a gorge where a river flows Chvizhepse , you get to Chvizhepsinsky Narzan spring .

Narzan spring Chvizhepse in the town of Medvezhiy Ugol: there is nothing special to see, but trying the water is useful.

Here you can taste the water, which originated at a depth of 200 meters. Legend says that the water of Chvizhepse absorbed all the power of the Earth. There are also scientific facts confirming the amazing properties of water from the Chvizhepse spring: scientists noticed that after drinking the water, people became more cheerful and their strength returned. Admission is paid, 100 rubles per person. Here you can buy a plastic bottle and fill up with water.

After driving another 11 kilometers along the same road towards Adler, you will see a sign for Galitsyno village . The village is unremarkable, but it is through it that the road to Trinity-St. George Convent.

This road, although paved, is very narrow: it is difficult for two cars to pass each other. The monastery was opened in August 1999 at a small abandoned recreation center of a local reinforced concrete plant, and was built with private donations. Thanks to them, several architecturally interesting temples appeared here in a short period of time.

And in the middle of all these buildings there is a beautiful garden, where it is simply pleasant to stroll and relax in the shade of rose bushes, and admire the pond with water lilies. Detachment from worldly concerns is what makes this place worth visiting, even if you are not a believer.

After resting in the shadow of the monastery walls, move on.

The central place in the park is occupied by the world's longest suspended pedestrian bridge - the SkyBridge - with a length of 439 m. For some, even just a walk along this suspension bridge over the abyss, at an altitude of more than 200 meters, will become extreme. But during the walk you will be able to enjoy magnificent panoramic views: on the one hand - to the Caucasus Mountains, on the other - to the Black Sea coast. Be sure to take a walk if you do not suffer from a fear of heights.

A ticket for a walk along the bridge costs 1,500 rubles for adults and 800 rubles for adults. children's And for lovers of truly thrilling sensations, Skypark offers high-altitude rides.

Tandem jump: not so scary for two?

Also on the territory of Skypark there is a rope adventure park “Mowgli”, an interactive museum of world bungee jumping, and a climbing wall with an area of 1200 sq.m. and 18 m high, an amphitheater where concerts and festivals take place all summer, and a panoramic restaurant at the very edge of the gorge.

On the descent from the mountain where the Sky Park is located, there is another local attraction - Akhshtyrskaya Cave . Of course, it’s funny to compare it with the New Athos Cave in Abkhazia - it’s not the same scale, but it’s still interesting to see. Moreover, the road to it will not take much time - 300-400 meters down from the park. At the same time, you will walk through a beautiful forest.

Akhshtyrskaya Cave is part of the Sochi National Park, so they charge an entrance fee. Cost: adult – 150 rubles, children – 70 rubles. And it became famous because, according to archaeologists, in ancient times there was a site of primitive man here. And there is also a good legend that it was in these places that Odysseus met with the Cyclops. Thanks to all these stories, Akhshtyrskaya Cave is quite a popular place among tourists.

Akhshtyrskaya cave.

Going down the road from the cave, you will find yourself in the village of Cossack Brod. They'll be right in your way And glassblowing workshop.

Adler trout farm is the largest fish breeding facility in Russia. The “Adler” trout was bred here, capable of living both in the river and in the sea. An excursion to a trout farm usually takes no more than half an hour. But in these 25-30 minutes you will learn how trout are bred and raised, what species live in the numerous pools of the trout farm (these pools are clearly visible from the suspension bridge in Skypark), and you will be able to take part in feeding the fish.

The trout farm has a store with all kinds of fresh fish.

The next point on your route could be glassblowing show at the Art Glass Workshop. Here you can get acquainted with the process of making glass products. Watching the deft movements of the masters, you never cease to be amazed at the metamorphoses that occur with glass. Here it is soft and pliable like dough, stretches and curls with tongs into all sorts of shapes, and in a few minutes it will become fragile...

After the show, take a stroll through the sales area, where exclusive works of local glassblowers are presented - I have not seen such a variety of shapes and colors since I visited a similar workshop in Venice, Italy, where the famous Murano glass is produced. Very elegant and original products can be purchased if desired. True, the price tags on some of them bite.

And you can finish your weekend itinerary at "Hamshensky yard" . This is an ethnographic complex and a restaurant at the same time. It’s hard not to notice it - the building itself looks like a medieval castle, and next to it there’s something resembling Noah’s Ark. In general, don’t be lazy, go into the ethnographic exhibition room and look at the exhibits. And then, with a clear conscience, taste the local cuisine.

Hamshensky Dvor complex: see and eat!

That’s how simple it is, in just one day, you can get the whole gamut of emotions: from peace and aesthetic pleasure to chilling fear.

If you don’t have a car, you can contact these guys +79384600693. They will pick you up from your hotel, take you to the most interesting places, show and tell you everything, and bring you back. Their cars are good, and their prices are not high. If you say the code word “Sochifornia”, you will also get a discount on the excursion.
