Liszt Ferenc International Airport (Liszt Ferenc Nemzetközi Repülőtér) is the main air hub of Hungary; most tourists enter the country through this airport. Liszt Ferenc Airport consists of 4 terminals, Terminals 1, 2A and 2B are the main ones, while the small Terminal 4 is used for general aviation.

How to get there by public transport

If a traveler ends up in Budapest, getting to the local international airport will not be a problem. This can be done at any convenient time. Routes 100E (goes to the city center) and 200E (goes to the nearest blue line metro station) regularly run from the main terminal. The cost of the service is 900 and 320 forints, respectively*. You can use a taxi service; drivers will take you to the city for about 30 euros. Every night, night shuttle number 900 goes from Budapest to the airport - the fare is 900 forints (2.7 euros)*. The journey will take about 40 minutes.

It is very easy to get to the Hungarian city of Debrecen, since the nearest airport is located almost 5 kilometers from the center. Special shuttle buses R1 and R2 will bring tourists to the center for 450 forints (the driver does not accept cards or euros). The schedule depends on flights; buses arrive when planes arrive.

It is also convenient to use a taxi service for 10 euros*. The passenger will be there in 10-15 minutes. Heviz Airport (hvz) is located in a small village. Budapest Airport consists of 3 main terminals (1, 2A and 2B). It’s possible to go between sections 2A and 2B in a couple of seconds. A special bus runs to the old terminal. Currently this building is completely closed. Terminal 2A serves aircraft flying to other Schengen countries. Citizens depart from 2B and travel to the rest of the world. Debrecen joined the list of international airports in Hungary in 2004, when the reconstruction of the airport terminal was completed. Budapest's public transport network includes approximately 200 bus routes, 14 trolleybus routes and almost 30 tram routes. The city also has underground transport (the metro consists of 4 lines) and river trams. Transport is managed by BKV.

Tickets

A one-time ticket for a direct trip on any local transport costs 350 forints - such a document is valid for 80 minutes from the moment of composting.

For short trips (up to 3 metro stations) can be purchased for 300 forints (valid for 30 minutes). A ticket for 1 trip costs 530 forints, which allows transfers within 90 minutes.

A 24-hour pass costs 1,650 forints – with such a document you can travel unlimitedly on any public transport in Budapest for 24 hours. The same pass, but for 72 hours, costs 4,150 forints.

Funicular

From Clark Ádám tér Square to Buda Castle you can take the funicular (Budavári Sikló). The round trip fare is 1800 forints, the funicular transports passengers from 7:30 to 22:00.

Water buses

There are 4 river tram routes along the Danube - D11, D12, D13 (on weekends and holidays) and D14 (links the island of Csepel with the city). You can also pay for the journey with a travel card; the pier is located next to Mount Gellert.

Taxi

Capital direction

Budapest Airport F. Lista is located 16 km southeast of the center of the Hungarian capital. Transfer to Budapest is carried out:
