Royal Petropolis
Petropolis is a city located in the mountains 60 km from Rio de Janeiro. King Pedro II bought land here in 1830 and built a summer palace here to accommodate his sick daughter, especially in hot weather. The Royal Palace preserves much of the royal family's antique furniture and household items, which are now on display in the museum. We will take one more cable car ride to the Mountain “Pao de Acucar” (Sugar Loaf). From here you have a wonderful view of the city, located between the mountains and the sea, and the view of the sun descending over Copacabana beach is magical.
