Panama is one of the most favorite holiday destinations among Russians. A visa to Panama for Russians, Ukrainians and Belarusians in 2019 is not required; a stamp in the passport will be placed at the airport upon arrival in the country. Citizens and tourists from these countries can stay in the country for 90 days.

Panama is a complex of islands and residences with incredibly beautiful landscapes and good climatic conditions. That is why Panama has won the title of tourist country among Russians and other foreign representatives. For the convenience of crossing its border, this tourist country has signed an agreement with many countries providing for a visa-free entry regime for citizens of these countries.

Speaking about the post-Soviet space, we can highlight three countries with which a similar contract was concluded. In 2019, for Russians, Belarusians and Ukrainians, visa documents do not need to be issued in the country of actual residence.

For Russians, such an opportunity arose only in 2015, and for Ukrainians in 2012.

Thus, a visa is obtained by people immediately after crossing the border of Panama.

If you look at it, in fact it is needed, only its registration takes place directly on the territory of Panama. And so, in 2019, Russians, Ukrainians and Belarusians do not need to apply for an entry permit.

But these conditions for obtaining documents apply only to such types of visas as:

  1. Guest.
  2. Tourist.
  3. Business.

Documentation

Before you decide to visit this country, you need to make sure that you have all the necessary documents that will need to be provided to the Panamanian customs services at the border. This country rarely refuses entry to anyone, but if the necessary documentation is not available, a person may end up on this insignificant list.

It is necessary to prepare in advance a package of documents consisting of:

You also need to book hotel rooms in advance and prepare a booking certificate. The reservation must be paid for exactly the period for which the trip itself is intended.

Students must take a certificate confirming the fact of their studies. If a person is officially employed, he must take a certificate from work, the main essence of which is the safety of the workplace and position for the person during the specified period of his absence.

Before traveling to Panama, Russians and Ukrainians should purchase round-trip tickets. They are provided to Panamanian customs officers as proof that the person will return to his home country upon expiration of the period of rest.

If a vacation to Panama was ordered from one of the travel organizations, then it is these agencies that provide the person with the required documents.

The most important document is the visa application form. It is filled out personally by the person before arriving in the country.

Registration procedure

After a person has crossed the border by any type of transport, he submits all documents to the customs authorities. If all the required documents are available, the person is issued a permit to stay in the country for a period of 90 days.

The country of Panama has developed a special visa system. A stamp is not placed on a person’s foreign passport. He is issued only a special document called a tourist card.

To obtain such a permit, a person is required to pay 50 dollars to the state budget of the country. You can make payment without leaving the airport building. There are places specially designed for this purpose. For more information about Panama and its attractions, watch this video.

Stay more than 90 days

Often 90 days is enough for a vacation or business trip. But if a person needs to stay in the country for much longer, he must obtain visa documents in the country of actual stay. In 2019, the Embassy of Panama is handling such documentation for Russians and Ukrainians.

You must make an appointment in advance for an appointment with an embassy employee. At the reception, an interview is held regarding the purpose of the trip. During the same period, the main package of documents is submitted.

From one to seven days are allocated for consideration of a visa application, after which the employee makes a decision.

Regardless of the decision, you must pay the consular fee. In 2019, for Russians and Ukrainians it is $70.

Work Visa

Despite the fact that Panama is a tourist destination, there are a considerable number of people who want to find a job there. Obtaining a work visa involves submitting a basic package of documents with an invitation from an employer who undertakes to provide a job to a person for a certain period of time. Exceptions

Not all cases require visa documents. According to the 2019 legislation, exceptions are provided for Russians and Ukrainians. If a person already has an open and valid visa to certain countries, to enter Panama he may not apply for a Panama visa and not pay the full cost for it.

For 2019, you must have an open visa for the following countries:

  1. Australia.
  2. USA.
  3. Canada.
  4. All European countries.

Upon arrival in Panama, you just need to present this document and pay a fee of $30. But it is worth remembering that in cases where a Panama visa is replaced by visas of other countries, the permissible period of stay also changes. In this case, a person can stay in the state for no more than 30 days.

In 2019, for Russians and representatives of other countries, upon expiration of this period and departure from the country, a person is required to pay 10 dollars. This applies to all persons leaving the state, regardless of whether they needed a visa or not upon entry.

  1. Children under two years of age.
  2. People for whom Panama is only a transfer country. But in this case, the period of their stay at the airport should not exceed nine hours.
