By following the links, you will find useful information that will help you plan your own route. You will find many high-quality photographs from different countries of the world. Finally, just read about my travels, emotions, experiences, victories and disappointments.

List of interesting countries that will be discussed in the article:

Asia

China, Philippines, Nepal, India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore.

South America

Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay.

Russia

Caucasus

Nagorno-Karabakh, Armenia, Georgia.

Iran and Türkiye

Asia

My acquaintance with independent travel began in Asia and there were many things for the first time here. There were many fears that we managed to overcome. There are many situations that made me stronger and gave me confidence that anything is possible if you don’t panic and systematically move towards your goal. I have been to Asia several times and will return here more than once. Moreover, I think that it is worth starting to travel independently from Southeast Asia. Wonderful people, relatively low prices, developed tourist connections and ease of obtaining visas, all this makes the region very attractive for both tourists and travelers.

China

Without a doubt, one of the most interesting countries in the world to travel to. China was not my first country, but it so happened that since September 2016 I have been living here, working, meeting interesting people, admiring the beautiful nature of Sichuan province, dreaming of going to Tibet and learning Chinese. At the moment, all articles and thoughts are only about China. This is an incredibly interesting and diverse country, with its own unique culture and a logic of thinking that is little understood by us. I think a great trip to China, with an abundance of wonderful photographs and a sea of useful information, is just around the corner...

Philippines

The Philippines was my first country where I went to travel with a backpack on my back. I remember the fear I felt sitting at the Hong Kong airport, waiting for my flight to the island of Cebu. It’s funny to remember how I thought, isn’t this all a mistake and I shouldn’t go back home? At home everything is so clear and simple. I don’t want to live!... That spontaneous trip to the Philippines was one of the best decisions of my life.

Nepal and India

Traveling through Nepal and India was incredibly exciting. To be honest, I didn’t plan it. It’s just that one day a girl I knew invited me to join her, and I didn’t refuse. Yes, India was interesting and I will most likely return there one day, but Nepal! This country turned out to be one of the most interesting, it simply captivated me and made me fall in love with the mountains. For the first time I rose above 5000 meters, I saw the Himalayas for the first time and, of course, I plan to visit there more than once. The only things better than mountains are mountains, that’s what they say, right?

Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore

I decided to unite all these countries, since I’ve been to nothing in them and there’s nothing to talk about in detail about them (a few days in Cambodia and Thailand, ten days in Malaysia, a couple of days in Singapore and a couple of weeks in Vietnam). Of course, there were interesting places, but other countries gave many more vivid memories.

South America

I love South America with all my heart and really want to go back. Without a doubt, this region is one of the most interesting for travel. Latin culture is very close to me, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese are one of the most sonorous languages, in my opinion, and the people there always smile and make you smile. For the first time I started thinking about changing my region of residence here.

Argentina

My favorite country! Steaks, beer, girls, Buenos Aires, nature, Spanish - I liked absolutely everything there. I could live in Argentina, no question. In the north of Patagonia, surrounded by magnificent nature, in a small house in a small town and with the girl you love? Yes, exactly, this is the life I picture for myself in the not so distant future.

Chile

Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to see much in Chile, but I liked what I saw. Hitchhiking here is one of the easiest, the beer is still as tasty as in Argentina. But the girls, however, are not so beautiful anymore)))

Brazil

First of all, in Brazil I was delighted with its people. These are amazing people. They meet all their adversities with a snow-white and sincere smile. This is their way to solve problems - to smile, knowing that any issue has its own solution and there is no need to worry. Everything will be fine.

Uruguay and Paraguay

Uruguay seemed like a large village to me, with an abundance of cows, meadows and local cowboys. It’s a nice country, but I don’t know what you can do there for a long time. In Paraguay, I was only in the capital, Asunción. It would probably be wrong to evaluate the country only by its capital. But overall, I don’t regret visiting there.

Russia and the Caucasus

Russia

For about a year I had plans to see my homeland. Initially, I planned a much more ambitious trip around Russia; I wanted to see, in addition to the western part, also the Urals and Siberia. Unfortunately, it was not possible to do this in one sitting; we will postpone studying Russia until better times. The time will come and we will see Russia.

Nagorno-Karabakh, Armenia, Georgia

The Caucasus is one of the most interesting and unusual travel regions I have visited. The nature is beautiful, but even the nature of the Caucasus pales in comparison with the incredible inhabitants. They invite you to visit after five minutes of acquaintance; while hitchhiking on the highway you don’t stand for more than ten minutes, and the amount of wine and mulberry vodka that they pour into you seems to be enough for several lives. Another place worth returning to and where I would recommend everyone to go.

Over the long period of my travels, I want to summarize and present the best countries for travel in my opinion. I have compiled a kind of TOP countries for independent travel around the world (for those who are not familiar with me, I recommend that you familiarize yourself with the channel on YouTube - there are a large number of videos about traveling in many countries):

1) So, the kingdom of Thailand rightfully deserves first place. With its indescribable energy, culture, traditions, preserved temples and smiles. The country is very well developed for tourism - former King Bhumibol Adulyadej did a lot to popularize this destination: tourists feel comfortable in this country. Developed infrastructure, transport links between resorts and cities, comfortable transport, luxury hotels and beaches. At the same time, traveling around Thailand is very affordable financially.

Traveling around Thailand, you can find interesting architectural sights (Bangkok, Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai), as well as beautiful snow-white bounty beaches (Samui, Phuket, Phi Phi, Krabi), and if necessary, then get-togethers with beach parties (Pattaya, Koh Phangan , Phi Phi). Everyone will find a taste for entertainment. You just need to choose the right vacation spot and not come, for example, to the popular Pattaya if you wanted a quiet beach holiday.

2) Holidays in Indonesia, and in particular in Bali, are also very eventful and interesting. The island has a colossal number of different temples, truly impressive in their beauty and scale. Temples such as Uluwatu, Besahih, Ubud are etched in the memory for a long time and are associated with this wonderful place. The island also has many beautiful beaches, which are interesting to travel on a motorbike.

From Bali you can fly in 1 hour to the large neighboring island of Java, where there are many interesting sights (the famous Borobudur temple complex). There are also small Gili Islands nearby, similar to the Maldives.

3) The Philippines is one of the most interesting countries for independent travel due to the large number of diverse islands (the most popular places: Boracay, Elnido, Cebu, Bohol, etc., there are many to list). But here it is worth making it clear that traveling in the Philippines is not for beginner travelers, but for advanced ones - the logistics here are complex and it can take a very long time to get from one island to another. Moreover, most movements require flights even to neighboring islands - for some reason, sea communications are underdeveloped.

4) Malaysia - my acquaintance began with a trip to the island of Langkawi. My stay on this island left only positive impressions - and I was surprised that this area was little explored by our tourist. Malaysia has many interesting islands for independent travel, from the popular Langkawi to more challenging routes to Perhetian, Redang or Sipadan in Borneo. I plan to return here again, probably, first of all, for the sake of Perkhetian.

5) Vietnam - when I was in this country, I had not yet engaged in video blogging, so there are no records for the country. But I can say that Vietnam is good for independent travel - the most popular places are Nha Trang, Mui Ne, Phan Thiet and Phu Quoc Island. If you drive a couple of kilometers from these resorts, they will look at you with their mouths open - white people are a rarity outside tourist areas. I also really liked the hospitality of the Vietnamese; they treat Russians especially well here - they remember our help during the USSR. By the way, I had the same feeling from Cuba - they love our people very much, they even fed us here and there - for free and with smiles.

6) Mexico - we drove 1500 km by car to Yucatan. I can say that it is interesting to travel here on your own, but not safe (although Yucatan is considered relatively safe, especially in tourist areas). Unfortunately, the impressions from the local Mexicans themselves remained unpleasant - they deceived us, and the police tried to trick us into taking a bribe, and even robbed us at the hotel... It was unpleasant. Watch your money and be careful in general. As a beach holiday in Cancun or Playa del Carmen, everything is great, but I wouldn’t recommend going to some outback at night.

7) Cuba is an excellent country for independent travel, indescribable flavor, vintage cars, cigars, rum - all this brings an indescribable impression to your vacation. I’ve been to Havana and Varadero, but I plan to return to Cuba again in order to drive around it on my own, explore non-tourist places and go diving in the South with sharks. After Thailand, perhaps this is my second favorite country, but I have been to Thailand more than 8 times, and to Cuba only 1 time - so I don’t know, I need to visit here again and record a video from my travels.

8) India - definitely occupies an honorable place among lovers of exotic and extreme travel. We are, of course, talking about central India, and not the beach part of Goa. Arriving in cities like Delhi, Varanasi, Jaipur, Mumbai, etc., you will really be shocked! This will definitely be a way out of your comfort zone - you are unlikely to have seen, heard or heard such dirt, cacophony of sounds and smells in your life.

I advise only prepared travelers to go to central India, both mentally and in terms of experience: logistics are not the easiest, and planning trips is not easy. If we talk about GOA, then everyone can travel from North to South here - there is not so much dirt, but in any case there is some. Even in Goa, you need to be mentally prepared for unsanitary conditions, walking cows and their excrement on the streets and the beach, Indians sitting down in the bushes to relieve themselves in the bushes, and so on - all this is present in Goa.

9) Sri Lanka is an excellent analogue of India for travel. Vacations can also be divided into beach holidays in the southern part and cultural ones - exploring the central part of the island, where all the main attractions are concentrated. Sri Lanka is cleaner, tidier and more cultured than its neighbor India. But on the other hand, there is a little less color here and you won’t see much trash. I would probably recommend traveling around Sri Lanka first and then traveling to India another time - that way you will be more mentally prepared. Traveling through this country left pleasant memories - I recommend it to lovers of exotic countries.

10) Montenegro is a rather interesting country in summer for traveling by car along serpentines and highlands. We filmed a convertible in Montenegro and traveled around half the country (the main tourist attractions, to be correct). I really liked the views in the Bay of Kotor, Kotor itself and the nearby cities.

Perhaps these were the most interesting countries for independent travel and sightseeing. But many will also be interested in the ranking of countries where the best beach holiday is - when you lie like a vegetable and turn golden brown. Nobody bothers you to combine a beach holiday with attractions in the countries above, but still I have identified beach holidays as a separate group, where relaxation is tailored specifically to lying on a sun lounger, sipping a coconut from a straw and contemplating nature.

For a beach holiday, the TOP countries for travel are as follows:

1) The favorite for a beach holiday is, of course, the Maldives. This is a place for solitude and contemplation of nature, a stunning underwater world with corals, reef sharks, stingrays and other delights. Not everyone can stay in the Maldives for a long time, because sitting in one place for more than 3 days gets boring, and there is nothing to do on the islands. There is no entertainment, no animation, no discos. A real getaway for either a romantic week or complete relaxation on your own. Contrary to popular belief, you can vacation in the Maldives on a budget - an independent budget tour will not be much more expensive than a trip to, for example, the Dominican Republic or Cuba.

2) Seychelles - beautiful views, excellent sea, but this is one of the few countries that I have not yet visited, but it is on my plans. Hopefully I'll be there soon.

3) The Dominican Republic and Cuba are a wonderful vacation where lying on the beach is the basis. Leaving the hotel grounds can be considered unsafe even in tourist areas, and a military man with a machine gun is on the excursion. Therefore, traveling around the country on your own is unsafe and you won’t be able to see anything very well. What remains is a luxurious holiday on the Caribbean Sea.

4) Philippines - beautiful snow-white beaches, palm trees, clear water - everything is great, but the downside is that it’s difficult to get even to Boracay.

5) Egypt is the most accessible resort for us, with an excellent and rich underwater world. A great place for diving and snorkeling. Cheap and cheerful.

6) Cyprus - a little more expensive than Turkey, but with a higher level of service. I can’t call Cyprus an ideal place, but in general there are good beaches with beautiful azure water. Watch travel videos - all the beaches are visible in them.

7) Turkey is perhaps one of the most popular resort countries during the summer. Variety of resorts, many hotels of different levels. As a budget option, it’s a good choice, and it’s also all-inclusive.
