We invite you to go on an exciting journey around the capital. In 72 hours you will see the most famous sights of the city on the Thames that will take your breath away, and our guide will help you spend your time wisely and avoid common tourist mistakes. So, we suggest you read our guide, which will tell you what you can see in London for 3 days on your own.

There are 5 airports in the capital of Great Britain. Heathrow Airport, the busiest, is located in west London. You can leave the airport by using the Piccadilly line metro, this is the most cheap way. The Heathrow Express train takes 15 minutes from the airport to Paddington Station. Paddington is also half an hour away on the Heathrow Connect train. Another option that is suitable for budget travelers is to purchase a National Express bus ticket. Your stop is Victoria Coach Station. Or use the services of Terravision.

If you want to save on bus tickets, we recommend booking them in both directions in advance on the company’s websites. If you arrived at night, then bus number 9 will help you. The cheapest way to get to the center from Gatwick, Luton, Stansted airports is EasyBus. Bus tickets from Terravision and National Express will cost a little more. You can travel cheaply from London City Airport thanks to the Docklands Light Railway or use Kiwi taxi services.

Once you get there, we recommend that you take care of your travel card in advance, since you will often need to travel by metro. We recommend purchasing 3 daily Travelcards for 2 zones. If you plan to cover most of the route on foot and only occasionally use the London Underground, then an Oyster plastic card is also suitable for you. Also, using this card, a bus ride will cost you much less than if you paid for it in cash.

A nice bonus is the 2FOR1 London discount system for Travelcard holders: if you purchased travel passes at the National Rail ticket office, the cost of visiting some attractions will cost you 50% less if you are traveling as a couple. So you can buy two tickets for the price of one to the Museum of Modern Art, London Eye, Madame Tussauds, Tower of London, etc.

Please note that your ticket must be valid on the day of the attraction. How to use the 2FOR1 London discount system? It's simple! You need to go to daysoutguide.co.uk/2for1-london, register and print out the vouchers you need. You will present them, along with your travel card, at the entrance.

Where to stay

You can find an inexpensive hotel or hostel on Booking.com. When choosing housing, give preference to options that are located near the metro.

So, you were able to get from the airport to the hotel without any problems, you had a little rest, which means it’s time to get used to the city and enjoy the long-awaited vacation.

What to do in the evening

If your soul requires continuation after such a busy day, then a party at the Heaven club is just what the doctor ordered. And you'll be lucky if you go to the club on a Monday, because that day of the week there's a free Popcorn party. All you need to be happy is to print a coupon from the club’s website.

Don't want to dance? For a quiet and cozy evening, we recommend the Paradise by Way of Kensal Green restaurant! A very atmospheric place that you fall in love with at first sight. The excellent cuisine will delight and impress even experienced gourmets. But keep in mind that they also know how to make noise and light up until the morning. If you want quiet, come early. Address: 19 Kilburn Lane, W10 4AE.

If noisy parties are not for you, but you want to while away an interesting evening, then go to the world-famous West End musicals. You can buy a ticket with a good discount at the Half price tickets booth, which is easy to find when you get to Leicester Square. They hold sales a couple of hours before the start of the musical.

Day 2

We explore the city from a bird's eye view.

London Eye

Today you will see London in all its glory. For a unique experience, head to the Ferris wheel, the most popular attraction - the London Eye. It is better to buy tickets online in advance. The cost of one ticket starts from £17, but do not forget about the “Two for the price of one” discount system, which we wrote about above. The Ferris wheel is located near Waterloo and Westminster stations. You need exit 1.

St Paul's Cathedral

You can enjoy the architectural masterpieces of London by climbing just over 500 steps of St. Paul’s Cathedral. Don’t forget to visit the whispering gallery under the dome and conduct an experiment, because this place is unique in that if you whisper a word in one part, you can hear it in another without any problems. If you buy a ticket on the website it will cost you £12.50.

Observation platforms

Thrifty tourists will argue that it is simply wasteful to pay that kind of money for beautiful view and they will be right. Indeed, in order to see a magnificent panorama of the city it is not at all necessary to pay money, it is enough to know the places. You can take stunning photos completely free of charge when you reach observation deck entertainment center Ally Pally.

Spectacular views of the city can be enjoyed from Waterloo Bridge. Even at night you will get excellent photos. Be sure to climb to the top of Parliament Hill to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, worries, problems and enjoy the atmosphere of this place. Accessible from Hampstead tube station.

Boat trip along the Thames

Now is the time to go for a boat ride on the Thames. To make the trip not only pleasant, but also useful, immediately after this we will go to Greenwich to see the sights and check in on the prime meridian. To avoid wasting time, boat tickets can be purchased on the website. You need Westminster Pier, which can be reached from the metro station of the same name; it is from there that the boats you need depart.

Greenwich

After your walk, take the tube to Canning Town to avoid the crowds and enjoy the futuristic structures of the Great Barrier in peace or stroll through the nearby Thames Barrier Park. Now back to the subway to get to the station we need - Greenwich. Are you tired and your body needs a boost? Then, without wasting a minute, let's go to a British pub that has been opening its doors to its guests since 1837 - Trafalgar Tavern. Sitting at a table, perhaps the very same one where Charles Dickens once liked to sit, you can enjoy not only a delicious lunch, but also a view of the Thames.

After a delicious lunch, by law... you're supposed to explore Greenwich. In general, to do exactly what we came here for. Here you can do what absolutely all tourists do, go to Greenwich Park to take a photo on the territory of the Royal Observatory, standing on the prime meridian. The main thing is to get there before closing (17.00).

Well, while you're here, take a stroll down to the embankment to photograph the clipper ship Cutty Sark, which once upon a time brought tea from China and wool from Australia. Don't miss out on some truly original items at Greenwich Indoor Market. Just don’t get too carried away, as we will devote our third day in London to shopping.

Well, and finally, take the elevator or stairs down into the famous Thames Tunnel.

The Greenwich plan has been completed, which means you can go have fun at the best entertainment venues with a sense of accomplishment. As budget travelers, we continue to look for free entertainment. In the evening, blues lovers should definitely visit the “Aint Nothing But” bar and listen for free live music. Also, for a nominal fee, or even completely free, you can enjoy the musicians playing in the “Birthdays” bar.

Day 3

We go shopping for souvenirs, antiques and vintage items at the most visited Portobello market in London in the Notting Hill area. Here you will find everything you need. If you have watched the film “Notting Hill” starring the beautiful Julia Roberts, then you will easily recognize this place and do not miss the opportunity to look into the shoe store at number 142, where, according to the plot of the film, there was a guidebook store. Bank cards People here are not very welcoming, so prepare cash in advance to pay for purchases. Keep in mind that the street market is only open on weekends, but if you're planning on buying antiques, you can come any day of the week.

Borough Market

Today we'll have lunch at Borough Market, so we'll get on the tube and get to London Bridge station. Here you can taste and purchase fresh bread, fragrant meat sandwiches, golden-brown pie with filling, juicy fruits, a variety of vegetables, and all this at an affordable price for a budget tourist. Please note that the market is only open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday until 17:00. Address: SE1 1TL, Southwark street, 8.

No shopaholic would ever deny himself the pleasure of strolling along Oxford Street, where over 300 shops are concentrated. All you need to do is get on the tube and get to Oxford Circus. You can buy inexpensive items at Primark - 499 Oxford Street. Unique and colorful T-shirts can be purchased at Lazy Oaf at 19 Fouberts Place. In general, all shops on Oxford Street are at your disposal.

Chinatown

After shopping, head to the 1888 Wall in nearby China Town for a giant bowl of rice. Notably, this bowl is made from 1,888 photographs of China Town stitched together. Hint: to find this place you need to turn onto Macclesfield Street from Gerard Street. Now don't miss the Horse & Dolphin Yard, this is the yard you need to visit. For dinner, go to the cozy Leong’s Legend restaurant. You will find it if you go back to Macclesfield street. >You can end your trip around London at the legendary MoS (Ministry of Sound) club, which offers its guests only the best sound and the best tracks from the most popular DJs in the world. Entrance fees range from £10 to £22.

He was afraid that in two days he would be completely exhausted, but nothing of the kind happened: he visited Culpepper, returned home and unfolded the parchments he had been given. I left the general part for later, ran through the list of required spells, skipped the medical ones - I still can’t figure it out on my own, I thought that I could get hold of cleansers and disinfectants from my mother or Ginny, but I didn’t go anywhere. The scroll lay on the kitchen table, pleasing the eye, Ron drank tea and dreamed. It was necessary to draw up a list of questions, but Merlin knows that if a person is going to be given a gift, wouldn’t he ask in advance what this gift looks like and how much it costs?

Loneliness always had a strange effect on him, and after the war he could not cope with it at all - he immediately wanted to be left alone, and not left alone, but now he was not alone, but together with his family, only the future that belonged to him, and sat and waited for it to come.

The meeting was scheduled at the Nizzle and Cook pub, one of the oldest on Diagon Alley - as Miss Miraflores explained, she wanted to feel the spirit of real England. Towards evening, Ron suddenly began to shake: he took a shower, changed his clothes three times, fiddled with his comb for a long time, and only in despair, throwing it against the wall, he suddenly remembered: you’re not going on a date, Ronald Weasley! For this job, it doesn't matter what you look like! He hastily jotted down a few questions on a piece of parchment, decided that he would figure out the rest as he went along, and dived into the fireplace.

The damned pub, which Ron had never been to before, turned out to be not only old, but also extremely poorly located: right in the window where he had initially settled down, a sign for “Weasley's Horror Pictures” was winking cheerfully. I had to change seats - the new place turned out to be not very comfortable, opposite the door, but at least without a view of the store.

Sylvia appeared exactly at seven, shook his hand firmly, like a man, sat down opposite him and announced that there would be beer and a pie with meat and kidneys.

You never sent the owl, Mr. Weasley...

Ron,” he said, “my name is Ron.”

“In that case, I’m Sylvia,” she nodded, not at all surprised, “so, I conclude that your intentions have not changed?”

“He’s crazy,” George gasped admiringly. He was here again, if not entirely, but he was there.

Ron, your blatant irresponsibility... - This is, of course, Percy.

Why irresponsibility? - Sylvia interrupted. - True, I am an interested person, but, in my opinion...

Percy tensed, like a dog who had smelled a scent.

Interested? What?

“Exactly,” thought Ron, “now he’ll grab hold of it and start shaking until he shakes out the whole truth to the last drop.”

I found a job! New! - he said hastily. - Sylvia conducted an interview! On Monday they will tell you for sure whether they will hire me or not!

What is the work? - Percy asked quickly. - Where and by whom?

Well, I suppose Ron will answer himself when he sees fit.

Ron was again torn between gratitude and irritation: it was difficult to remain calm when you were being dissected like a frog in a potions lesson.

That's why I didn't say anything! - He tried very hard not to scream, but still broke into a scream. - I didn’t know for sure!

“You didn’t want to come here yet, Percy,” said George. - Will you listen to me now? Do you, Sylvia,” he lowered his voice almost to a whisper and leaned towards her, “don’t you think that my brother was simply going to hide this insignificant fact from us? Leaving the family to suffer in the dark? Perhaps you and I should exchange addresses - to, so to speak, keep our finger on the pulse, hmmm? You never know what else might come into his head...

And then - Ron simply couldn’t believe his eyes - he actually extended his hand and, Merlin is a witness, put it on her wrist, where the pulse is usually taken, and she... she continued to sit as if nothing had happened. Ron sighed loudly - nothing had changed. Percy looked at them through the glass of his mug, his expression unreadable. Ron realized he was blushing, but he continued to stare, he just couldn't stop. He knew from Percy, whom he somehow got the hang of, about the girls that George rented for the night, about Angelina, with whom he either had or didn’t have it last spring, but like this, in front of everyone! He inhaled and exhaled again - and finally saw that Sylvia had taken her hand away.

Of course - St. Mungo's Hospital, Doctor Miraflores,” she said calmly. - Ron, if the decision is made earlier, should I send you an owl?

No,” he answered hoarsely. - No, no, I’ll come myself.

She nodded.

It's been a wonderful evening, gentlemen, but I have to go.

And she stood up, getting ready to leave; they jumped up after her, rattling their chairs.

Kenny, put it on my account! - George yelled, doing well without any Sonorus.

Miss Sylvia, may I accompany you?

Thank you, I'm right here.

She smiled at George, nodded at Percy, said, "See you Monday, Ron," and took a step back before apparating.

Ron began to come to his senses a little. In any case, it dawned on him that now was the time to quietly disappear, and he moved to the side, but four hands grabbed him from both sides, and a deceptively gentle voice sang:

Where are you going, Ronnie, baby? Do you want to run away again? It's a bad habit, Ronnie, and you have to get rid of bad habits, the sooner the better! You want to come with us and tell us everything, right?

They dragged him across the street and up the stairs to the apartment above the store. Ten minutes later he was sitting on a hard chair in the middle of the room, with two pairs of eyes and two wands aimed at his face.

Come on, Ronnie, shoot! - said George.

What is the work? Who is this Sylvia?

What does Mungo have to do with it?

“They are in vain,” thought Ron, “they are in vain.”

But how could they know? He passed the technique of behavior during interrogations at the Academy “above expected”, and he had enough practice that he wouldn’t mind by night. Ron tensed up, waited a couple of minutes for appearances, and began injecting himself in an exemplary, textbook manner, trying not to lie unnecessarily and interspersing the streams of information with precisely calculated doses of requests and curses.

From his inarticulate confessions it turned out that he was tired of running through the forests after brainless creatures, there were no prospects, there were no opportunities for translation, and it was a shame to ask Harry; that somehow by chance he met Patil, complained, she told about the request, and off we go. Sylvia is recruiting personnel, she legally sits at Mungo - you can make inquiries even tomorrow, but in general this is not a job yet, a course of study: the basics of healing, advanced charms, Muggle studies and Muggle technology - and only then, after the exams, they can offer a place. I didn’t want to show up ahead of time, because my studies were not in England, but in Switzerland, on the continent, and I would have to leave - I knew that they would start dissuading me, so I delayed.

It turned out well, I liked it myself.

Well, let’s say,” Percy finally said. - Let's say. The explanation is acceptable, although I strongly disagree with your course of action, it is simply outrageous.

“You’re doing something dark, brother,” said George, “I can’t catch it, but I see that you’re going dark.” So, yes. You'll tell your parents on Saturday at lunch, and the rest... Wait, what about Harry? Does Harry know?

Ron shook his head.

Let me take an oath from you... Or not. Watch him, Percy!

Is there something wrong with George? With you? Injured?

If you were wounded, you would be the first to know,” Ron waved him off. - Everything is fine.

And what's that? - He shook his head towards the fireplace.

The easiest thing would be to repeat the same half-truth he had just fed to Percy and George. Ron was about to make up his mind, and even opened his mouth when he realized that it was not. Can not. Where he got it from, he himself didn’t know, but he was ready to swear on anything that he couldn’t tell his brothers about Somalia yet, but Harry definitely needed to, right now.

He straightened up as far as the sofa would allow, tried to put his thoughts in order and began the report - as he usually reported to the operatives on the next completed case, consistently presenting the facts and trying not to miss anything: duty and boredom, the Hebrides and Macboon, the Department of International Relations and Patil, St. -Mungo and Sylvia, Geneva and the field hospital...

Harry listened as only he could, absorbing not only the words, but also what stood behind the words, and suddenly said:

Stop. There is one more person who needs to know about this.

Maybe we should not? - Ron whined, feeling with horror how he was turning from an Auror into a fourth-year pup. - He’ll think of something else...

Are you out of your mind, Ron? - asked Harry. - This is Hermione. She will understand everything. You know? Go to the kitchen, and without any Accio - firewhiskey in a closed cabinet, key in the lock, glasses on the shelf.

When Ron returned and dumped the bottle and glasses on the low table, Hermione was already sitting on the sofa, wrapping her robe around her, from which her pajamas were sticking out - a man's robe, by the way, with the emblem of Sennen's Falcons, the club for which she played that season Krum. “I wonder where he pulled it from?” - Ron thought maliciously, felt ashamed and sat down.

Just as clearly as he had been taught, he finished speaking and began to wait for what would happen. They must have been looking at each other behind his back - Ron stared into the fireplace flames and endured, without raising his eyes, until he heard the best sound in the world: Harry pouring firewhisky.

Hermione moved closer - Ron could smell how she smelled not even of perfume, but of bitter men's cologne and someone else's bed - and asked:

You'll keep us posted, Ron? Will you write?

Harry shoved the glass into his hand and Ron finally looked at them.

For us! - said Harry.

And they drank the first, then the second - for the fulfillment of desires, then, without clinking glasses, the third - for those who no longer exist, then Ron, out of the blue, told how he messed up with Parseltongue today, and they argued, maybe would he speak snake tongue if Voldemort died, and Ron hissed a little, and Harry kept repeating that he wouldn’t, because he had forgotten how, then it turned out that the bottle had run out, and Harry brought a second one...

After some time - Ron remembered this - Krum crawled out of the fireplace, Ginny came down from the second floor, and only no one came for Ron, and he safely slept until the morning on a beautiful new sofa in the living room of the Potter house in Godric's Hollow.

We decided on our holiday destination for 2017 at the very last moment. Having an open Schengen visa, we already knew that it would be Italy again. We have long been attracted by the mysterious Venice; due to its fortunate neighborhood, the choice fell on Lido di Jesolo. I love Italy very much, a long-time fan of Italian culture, cuisine, fashion, every time I discover it again. So, the resort itself... The undeniable advantage is the length coastline. I really liked the beach, or rather the care local residents about him. Cleanest beach throughout the day, a beautiful path with cozy flower beds, cafes and benches, the organization of animation on the beaches for adults and children makes it the center of the resort. The schedule of events for the evening is regularly announced on the beach. The sea is shallow, for proper swimming you need to go far fromshores. Only fellow countrymen swim nearby (for some reason only Russians like to swim, the rest enjoy the sea up to their knees). In the evening, after 20-00, all vacationers move to the neighboring street with shops and cafes. I would like to say thank you to the municipality of the village, the organization of recreation is carried out at the highest level. Stages, screens, seats for spectators are installed in small squares and all kinds of competitions, concerts and shows are held. During our week of stay, we attended an international competition of national dances, a competition for graduates of local music schools and a soulful concert of Italian songs. Northerners are very hardworking people, everyone is already at work by 7:00, the streets are clean, the village is well-groomed. Hotel. We stayed at the LONDON hotel. The convenient location (on the first coastline in the center of the village) allows vacationers to be in the center of events. The hotel is not new. I really liked the service staff: the maids, who are not visible, but their work is noticeable (cleanliness in the hotel and room, and fresh towels every day); the bartender (he is the soul of the hotel) - cocktails are the highlight of the hotel; waiters - several times I watched the organization of cleaning dishes from tables, the guys are great professionals - and all the work is done with jokes. Special thanks to the chef for delicious breakfasts and dinners. The fish is top notch...The hotel rooms, like everywhere else in Italy, are small. Our room did not have a refrigerator, but it had a comfortable bed and excellent plumbing, which was enough for us. The uniqueness of the hotel is its proximity to the sea; for the first time I fell asleep to the sound of the surf. I would like to draw the attention of potential hotel guests to the paid air conditioning in the room; not all websites have this information. A 10-15 minute walk from the hotel is located shopping mall Surname. Fruits, prosciutto, the best Prosecco of Italy can all be purchased here. For shopping lovers, you can spend your passion and money on clothes and shoes (I especially liked the store with household goods). There is a bus station near the center. Buses go like clockwork. During our vacation, we independently settled in Venice, Verona and the central part of the village of Lido di Jesolo. In general, the holiday, as always, turned out to be eventful, it is a pity that the incredible heat made some adjustments to the plans, and we were not able to visit the wonderful city of Padua. Once again I would like to say thank you for your hospitality!!
