The Koktebel resort lies on the shore of the bay of the same name, bounded on the west by the rocky peaks of Cape Malchin, and on the east by the narrow ridge of Cape Chameleon. The village occupies the Koktebel depression, protected by the Kuchuk-Yanyshar and Biyuk-Yanyshar ridges, Mount Klementyev, and the spurs of the Tatar-Khaburg hill. Small rivers that dry up in the summer carry water through the territory of Koktebel. In the northern part of the village lies the bed of the Armutluk River, on which a small reservoir is formed. From the east, small bays Mertvaya and Tikhaya adjoin the Koktebel Bay.
