Anyone who has ever gone camping overnight probably understands how to pitch a tent. For experienced travelers, the process of installing a house does not take much time. For a beginner, creating an overnight stay can cause serious difficulties.

Choosing the right place

Some novice travelers believe that a tent can be set up absolutely anywhere. Moreover, this misconception is often confirmed by sellers in travel stores. However, to make your vacation comfortable, you need to know where to put up your tent. When setting up an overnight stay, you need to consider the following:

  1. The tent should not be pitched in a place where there are stones, sharp branches, tree roots or an anthill. Particularly vicious insects can greatly spoil the sleep of a careless tourist.
  2. When camping in hilly areas or mountains, it is important that your head is positioned higher up the slope when sleeping, even if the slope on which the tent is pitched is slight. Otherwise, the next morning you will suffer from a migraine.
  3. The possibility of sudden rain cannot be ruled out for sure. Therefore, it is important not to pitch the tent inside a hole or crater. Otherwise, at night the water will flow directly into the shelter.
  4. When setting up a tent, you need to think in advance about the place where the fire will be lit. The tent catches fire very quickly and must be protected from fire. In addition, it is important that smoke does not penetrate into the tent.
  5. It is not recommended to install a tent directly next to a body of water. This place is usually damper and colder.

Every novice traveler must understand where to pitch a tent, otherwise he will not be able to avoid a ruined trip.

Types of tents

Before you understand how to set up a tent for the night, it is important to find out what type it is. Most often in stores you can find hemispherical (frame), tunnel (half-barrel) and gable (house) tents. Last view already outdated. The gable tent was very popular in the early days of backpacking. But lately people take it with them on hikes extremely rarely. The thing is that such a house takes a long time to assemble, has poor wind resistance and is quite bulky.

Half-barrel tents are also difficult to set up. But this type has a big plus - it has quite a lot of space. Undoubtedly, the best-selling tent is the hemispherical (frame) tent. It is quite easy to assemble and has high strength.

Setting up the tent on site

Many novice travelers are interested in how to pitch a tent outdoors. The installation process for the most popular hemispherical (frame) tent is as follows:

  1. First you need to lay out the inner tent on the ground.
  2. Then you will need to install the arcs. First you need to collect them. Namely, insert frame elements into each other. This type of tent must have at least two arcs. Then everything depends on the design of the tent. The poles can be inserted into holes in the corners of the inner tent, and then secured using hooks, or threaded through fabric grooves and attached to the bottom of the tent. Then the arcs should be fixed with a rope to the tent itself. Due to this, the entire structure will become more rigid.
  3. After the steps have already been taken, it is necessary to pull the awning. It is important to compare the inlet on the awning with the outlet on the inner tent. The awning can be attached in two ways (to the arches or to the ground with pegs).

What should not be done by those who like to spend the night in the forest?

Some people who already know how to pitch a tent make the following mistakes:

  1. Use polyethylene so as not to stain the bottom of the tent. However, with slanting rain, such a nuisance will happen even faster. If you decide to use polyethylene, then its corners need to be folded and attached to the bottom of the tent.
  2. There is no need to pitch a tent on low beaches mountain rivers. Due to rain, the water level in the river can suddenly rise and flood the shelter overnight.
  3. You need to be especially careful if the tent is placed in the mountains. It should be located away from avalanche areas. For example, on slopes where there is a thick layer of snow. It is strictly forbidden to stop overnight on snowy cornices.

Every lover of long trips should understand how to set up a tent correctly. As a rule, only a couple of people in a group of travelers know about this. Some people forget that hiking is not only relaxation, but also a great responsibility.

If you are going camping overnight, then in the evening you will need to choose a place for a tent and a comfortable overnight stay. There are some rules in this matter that will ensure you good vacation at night and will help you avoid trouble.

What kind of place do you need to put up a tent?

It is better to choose a place for a tent before dark. Otherwise, later you will have to do everything in the dark and you may not notice any important features places.

In principle, a tent can be placed almost anywhere, but with different levels of comfort. It is best to look for a flat and dry place in a small young forest without old, dry and very large trees. Such trees can be knocked down by a suddenly rising wind.

Inspect the ground in the chosen place to make sure it is not damp, so that there are no roots, stumps or stones sticking out of the ground. Clear the area, remove all sticks and stones, cut off clumps of grass. You can, for softness, line the area under the tent with spruce branches, but make sure that there are no protruding knots that will dig into your side and could pierce the bottom of the tent.

This place should not be located in a low spot or hollow, otherwise in the event of overnight rain, water will flow there.

If the area is slightly sloping, think about how to position the tent so that you can sleep comfortably and not roll up against one wall.

In a dense spruce forest you can usually find a good place under the spreading paws of fir trees. Usually nothing grows in such shade, and the ground is strewn with a thick layer of dry pine needles, on which it will be very comfortable to sleep.

You definitely need to inspect everything around so that there is no anthill nearby. Otherwise, the ants will make a pilgrimage to you for food and, naturally, will climb onto you and into the tent. It's better to set up camp a little further away.

It is usually a little warmer in the forest than in open place and there is no such wind. And in spacious clearings, heavy dew usually falls in the morning and everything around will be wet. If you have a single-layer tent, there will be condensation inside.

In dense bushes and tall grass there can simply be countless hordes of mosquitoes and midges, and this is not the best neighborhood.

If you look closely, you can usually see animal paths. You shouldn't place a tent on them either. If a hedgehog or other small animals can simply disturb you with noise, then parking on a boar path is already associated with a risk to life. The same goes for old abandoned roads. The fact that no one has driven along it for a long time does not mean that no one will go.

Near mountain rivers there are often very comfortable, flat beaches of small pebbles. But, despite the tempting view, you shouldn’t pitch a tent here. It can rain in the mountains without you even seeing or hearing it, and because of it, the water in the river can rise very quickly and flood your camp.

In general, the water feels cold at night, and the shore, saturated with moisture, is quite cold. Therefore, you should also not put up a tent right next to the river. It is better to position yourself 100 meters away from it.

When planning a camp site, consider the direction of the wind. It will be very unpleasant if all the smoke from the fire and sparks fly towards the tent.

A tent is an essential attribute of any tourist who prefers. It is much more interesting, cheaper and more exciting than classic tourism. Many even prefer to travel to other cities with their own. But here’s the problem: not everyone knows where to pitch a tent, and where it is fraught with minor and major troubles. And even banal common sense does not always help with this.

City limits

Any tent placed within the city limits automatically awakens in the law enforcement officers the reflex “surely there are some protesters again,” and in ordinary people - banal curiosity. And this is not to mention the fact that you still need to find a plot of land for this, since, of course, no one will allow you to drive pegs into the asphalt. It would seem that a city park would be a good solution (and some police officers may direct you pitch a tent exactly there) - it seems that there is land, and there are not so many people... But there very often you come across drunk, curious and aggressive individuals. And the area around is deaf... There is no need to tell you what this is fraught with. Therefore, if night finds you in the city, try to at least leave the center. On the outskirts there are more places, fewer people, and the police won’t be so picky. Better yet, pitch a tent and get acquainted with the wonderful tradition called “vpiska”. We will talk about this in more detail someday, but now let’s return to our topic.

Shores of reservoirs

Lake, river, sea coast- doesn't matter. All these places seem to be perfect for pitch a tent. But no, it’s better to refrain from this tempting idea. Why? But because who the hell knows how the weather can behave. If you do not know the various signs, and also do not turn to weather forecasters for information, then you may be in for an extremely unpleasant surprise. Even moderate rain can cause water to overflow its banks and begin to slowly flood you. This, of course, is not fatal, but extremely unpleasant. Hastily pack your tent and things, look for shelter, then dry off... Well, it’s better to immediately prevent such a problem and not pitch a tent near the shore.

Forest with wild animals

You should always find out all the necessary information about the area where you plan to travel. And if you were warned that there might be wild animals there, you need to remember this. Under no circumstances should you pitch a tent in the wilderness - the further into the forest, the higher the chances of running into a curious animal. The edge of a forest, an area not far from an urban or rural area - any place where it would be scary for an animal to enter. However, there are situations when spending the night in the forest cannot be avoided. In this situation, you need pitch a tent as far as possible from well-trodden paths and camouflage it as much as possible. You understand, sometimes there are people there who are not always kind...

Large open spaces

Pitch a tent right in a common field is a terrible idea. The only thing worse is to put it in the same place, but on a higher ground. And the point is not only that you can be seen from several kilometers away (and people, as we remember, are different). In this situation, your overnight stay will be open to absolutely all possible winds, so the tent will sway from side to side, the wind will howl wildly and you certainly won’t be able to get a good night’s sleep. And when it rains, a lonely, towering target can be hit by lightning... I don't think you want that.

Private territory without permission

Some people approach the protection of their private property somewhat radically... And if you don’t discuss this problem with them first, they can start doing the devil, from a banal call to the police to targeted shooting from a hunting weapon. To avoid such problems, try to find the owner of the territory where you plan to spend the night. In rural areas this is not difficult to do. And if it doesn’t work out, then there are also public areas that no one needs, which no one is watching very closely. But it is better to obtain permission from the owners of the land.

Of course, there are situations when it is not possible to avoid a bad decision and you have to pitch the tent wherever possible. But in this case, you must be mentally prepared for possible problems and conflicts. And here correct behavior is very important. Knowing the local language helps a lot - in this case, it will be much easier to explain and apologize. But English will also work. At the very least, law enforcement officers seem to be obliged to know him. In any case, try to behave as kindly as possible and not create unnecessary problems for yourself and others. Also, try to familiarize yourself with the legislation of the country where you plan to travel in advance. After all, ignorance of the laws does not exempt you from responsibility, but knowledge, as a rule, does the opposite.

Recently, traveling by car has become more popular: according to statistics, this format attracts 15% more tourists every year. For those who like wild camping, I have put together a selection of campsites in Moscow and the Moscow region.

We are going to Crimea in the summer of 2019 with a tent (by car or without)! A selection of places where you can stay for a wild holiday by the sea - secluded beaches and organized campsites. Travel tips.

There are many campsites with tents in Crimea, some prefer complete privacy and real wild holidays, others are organized campsites with a minimum set of amenities. Let's try to list the most popular places for a savage to relax with a tent in Crimea - of course, there are many more of them, and theoretically you can pitch a tent anywhere.

Where to relax in Crimea with a tent in 2019?

Mysovoye

If you are going to Crimea with a tent by car, we advise you to pay attention to the village of Mysovoe - reviews from tourists about it are very good. It is located near the Feodosia-Kerch highway, if you go in the direction of Kerch, at Cape Kazantip. This place on the Azov Sea is ideal for a secluded holiday: White sand, very quiet and sparsely populated, the silence is broken only by the cry of seagulls and the splash of waves. According to tourists, you can catch gobies here almost with your bare hands. The sea is shallow and very warm; to swim, an adult needs to move 30-50 meters away from the shore. IN Tatar Bay You can go kite and windsurfing. You can also stay in neighboring Shchelkino.

Quiet Bay

A very beautiful bay with a sandy beach and springs with healing clay, which you can smear with absolutely free. It takes 40 minutes to walk to Koktebel. If you travel by car from Feodosia, you need to turn off at the stele and drive another 10-15 minutes along the dirt road. This was once a favorite place for Soviet filmmakers; now it houses a spontaneous tent city(free) and several cafes.

Fox Bay

Fox Bay is one of the most popular places for relaxing with a tent in Crimea. Famous place recreation for informals and nudists - a sort of Crimean Goa. Drinking water– in the springs on Echki-Dag, it takes about 20 minutes to climb from the shore. There is a small market, several toilets and many cafes - the local Piccadilly. The supply of provisions can be replenished in the villages nearby; some locals bring food themselves.

Camping in Alushta

An option for a “semi-wild” holiday, because the tent camp “Vympel” is located within the city limits. Due to its favorable location, it is well suited for tourists without a car. The camp is located in a forest area, not far from the Sudak ring - the exit from Alushta towards Sudak and the bus stop. There is water, electricity, shower, toilet, dining room, kitchen and security. A tent, sleeping bag and other equipment can be rented for 150-200 rubles per day. Disadvantage: the sea is far away. It takes 20-30 minutes to walk through the Primorsky Park to the city beach.

Laspi Bay

Laspi Bay is securely covered by mountains, and juniper thickets grow on the shore. From the east - Cape Sarych, from the west - Aya. This place in the Balaklava region of Crimea has long been popular among wild campers with tents, because the water here is warm and clean. In 2015, there was no longer a paid campsite with toilets and showers in the bay; people stayed with tents on their own. There is paid camping near Cape Sarych. Near Laspi Bay there is a village of the same name, where you can replenish food and water supplies. The disadvantage of relaxing in Laspi Bay is the somewhat tedious descent to the sea.

Orlovka

You can get here by car from Sevastopol or from Simferopol, following in the direction of Kacha and further to Orlovka. Beautiful sand beach, the village has shops and cafes. With a tent you can pitch anywhere, some prefer right on the seashore. It is better to take firewood with you. A company of the same campers is guaranteed - savages love to come here to relax.

Belyaus

Wild white sand beaches stretch almost 10 km along coastline. People rest here only in tents; there are no boarding houses or private sector. There is a quite decent camping site “Viking”, but tourists complain that the prices there are a bit high, although the service is good.

Olenevka

If you drive to the westernmost point of Crimea, you will find amazing landscapes and great opportunities for camping. Olenevka is considered a center of wild recreation on Cape Tarkhankut. It's a quiet place with perfect clear water And . True, it is very open and without greenery, but you can catch fish and crabs. Tourists relax in the wilderness with tents or in a campsite near the village. The campsite has all the conditions: electricity, shower, toilet, wi-fi. In the village you can rent bicycles and explore the surrounding area, as well as go diving and book excursions.

Evpatoria

Car camping on the beach Cote d'Azur is a large open area with dining and nightlife options nearby. Lovers of silence will find it uncomfortable here; the place is more suitable for young people. Eat hot water(shower), electricity, toilet and wi-fi. Accommodation – 120 rubles per person per day and 50 rubles per car. You can rent a house made of reeds for 1.5-2 thousand rubles per day.

Bakal Spit

You can stay with a tent in Crimea in a protected place with very clean water. Tourists enjoy snorkeling and watching fish. At the beginning of the spit, a tent camp is set up, there is a toilet and garbage collection is organized. There is sea on the spit on both sides, there is no shade or awnings, so all the arrangement of the comfort zone falls on the shoulders of the vacationers. Food supplies can be replenished in the village of Steregushchy, which is 2 km from the campsite. Accommodation is paid - 60 rubles per car and 150 rubles per tent. According to reviews, the disadvantage Bakal Spit mosquitoes are very annoying.

Of course, this selection of places where you can pitch a tent in Crimea is far from complete - you can relax as a savage in Lyubimovka near Sevastopol (if you go to the right towards the cliffs), on capes Fiolent, Meganom and on secluded beaches on the road to the village New World etc. Where did you vacation in Crimea with tents? You can add to this list in the comments and write your review.

Secluded holiday in a tent or car camping - which is better?

Not all campsites by the sea leave a positive impression. They are equipped differently, sometimes the amenities of civilization, proudly called showers, toilets and a dining room, only vaguely resemble those. But there are also pleasant exceptions; in good campsites, for a modest amount of 150 to 350 rubles per day per person, you can get all the above amenities. These are campsites in Belyaus, Evpatoria, Kanaka, Alushta and Rybachye.

According to reviews from tourists who camped in Crimea, the second unfavorable factor is that there is always a risk of ending up with a cheerful group of neighbors, and then unceasing music at night amid alcoholic libations is guaranteed. Of course, such a vacation is also good in its own way, but it is not suitable for everyone.

A secluded holiday with a tent in Crimea is the cheapest; you will only have to spend money on gasoline and food, but not the best option from a security point of view. Although it is difficult to find a completely deserted place on the peninsula. Many set up an impromptu camp in a place they like on the seashore or in the mountains.

When going to Crimea on vacation with a tent in 2019, you should take into account that you will have to take a lot of things with you. Certainly, Crimean coast– this is not the wilderness, civilization is still nearby, but you can’t run over every little thing. So, in their reviews of holidays in Crimea with tents, tourists advise:

  1. Be sure to take personal hygiene items and toiletries, towels, a pair of swimsuits, several sets of clothes and shoes, and a sun hat. It is not always possible to wash and dry things, and you will need a supply of clothes in case of bad weather. Warm clothes and long-sleeve sweaters will come in handy; it is always a little colder in the mountains, especially at night. If you plan to hike in the mountains, you will need a backpack and comfortable closed shoes with non-slip soles.
  1. First aid kit. Required - remedies for mosquitoes, burns, cuts, bites, etc.
  1. Tent, sleeping bags or air beds with blankets, tent mounts. In some places it is very windy, so you need to secure the tent properly. If your seating area is very open, you will need an awning or umbrella to create shade. Gas burner for cooking, camp furniture and utensils, flashlight and extra batteries, threads, needles, glue.
  1. Supply of provisions and water. From products, take only what does not require storage in the refrigerator - cereals, canned food, for children - dry cookies without filling, condensed milk, candies, nuts and dried fruits.
  1. There are no predatory animals in Crimea, but there are insects and snakes. The most dangerous spiders for human life are karakurts and scolopendra centipedes; there are also ticks. Even harmless fish can cause trouble - the sea ruffe and the sea dragon can be painfully pierced by their spines and cause inflammation; jellyfish are not safe if their mucus accidentally gets into your eyes. There is no need to try unknown berries or pick plants, some of them are highly poisonous. It is better to study in advance which plants and animals may be dangerous.
  1. Vigilance will not hurt anywhere; even in sparsely populated places no one is safe from theft. According to reviews, most of these cases are recorded in the suburbs of Sevastopol and the abode of nudists and informals - in Fox Bay.

Wild holidays in Crimea have a lot of advantages. Firstly, such a vacation is educational and very economical. Secondly, without having the chance to complain about the lack of air conditioning and poor service in the hotel, the tourist gets more pleasure from outdoor recreation. But there are also disadvantages, and the most important one is related to the lack of usual amenities and the right choice of place to relax. However, for a car traveler this is not a problem; I didn’t like it - I took off and went to look for another place.
