Disneyland Paris is fabulous place, which has been attracting children and adults from different countries peace. Moreover, this applies not only to the warm season, but also to winter. It may not be so comfortable to visit this place in winter due to the drop in temperature, but there are not only disadvantages, but also advantages to traveling in winter.

If you have never been to Disneyland before and only have a rough idea of what kind of place this is, then you should understand that this is a fully developed entertainment city with excellent infrastructure, which includes residential and business districts, a village of boutiques, as well as a large number of incredible attractions. Within the park there is the opportunity to play golf, as well as visit one of the restaurants located in the park (there are about 50 restaurants on the territory of Disneyland). There are also themed clubs here that play rock, country and disco.

The park operates year-round and is usually open from 10 to 22.30, but there may be changes in operation, so before your trip it is best to check the official website, where all the detailed information is posted that will help you plan your trip.

Disneyland covers an area of two thousand hectares and in order to explore the entire territory and ride most of the attractions, you need to set aside at least several days (there is no point in going for one day). It is not necessary to stay at a Disneyland hotel, as it is unreasonably expensive. In Paris you can find cheaper accommodation, and you can get to the park by public transport.

I don’t know anything about the fact that some attractions may not work in winter. It is possible that during periods of low temperatures, for the safety of tourists, some attractions may not operate, but I do not think that if several attractions are not operating, this will greatly spoil your experience of traveling in Paris and visiting Disneyland. Moreover, in winter, on the eve of Christmas and New Year's holidays special events are organized in the park entertainment programs and events.

Previously, many tourists came to this park in winter, because they did not want to stand in lines in summer, but now a purchasing system has been developed electronic tickets, which makes it possible to buy a ticket online, print it out and avoid queuing at the box office.

The fact that you visit this park in winter will not spoil your impression and mood at all, and perhaps even get better, since Disneyland is much more spacious in winter. And if some attractions do not work, you may not even notice it.

“The light we look forward to most will shine in your eyes!” This is what the workers of one of the most fabulous and magical places on earth say - Disneyland Park in Paris.

🌲 The Christmas fairy tale is about to begin, it's time to pack your bags. 🌲

How Disneyland Paris works in winter

New Year's holidays at Disneyland begin on November 11, 2017 and will last until January 7, 2018. From the very first day, the park will open its gates at 9 am and close at almost midnight. The largest events will begin on January 2; it is on these days that parades of cartoon and fairy tale characters will take place, and the New Year tree will also be lit. The operating schedule of individual locations can be seen on the official Disneyland website.

What does Disneyland offer - attractions, cafes, entertainment

In Paris, park attractions do not stop operating until winter period. It is worth noting that some sites are inaccessible, but their number is decreasing every year.

In 2017, they promise to open a central park area with a station square, where you can ride small trains and take pictures with retro cars. Here, on Main Street, there is a parade of Disney cartoon characters, so the area is literally a must-see.

Thematic areas dedicated to Peter Pan, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Dumbo and many other cartoon characters are also open. Some of the attractions involve flights of various formats, so it is advisable to dress warmly.

Roller coasters and racing areas are also open - the tracks are cleared, so you don’t have to worry about your safety during extreme skiing. The slides operate in several zones at once - in the Border Country and in the Backstage World. The first one has the most interactive areas - a small petting zoo, areas for Western-style games, a Tarzan show and much more.

In addition to riding and watching the performances, you can take part in the creation of a new animated film. Just look into the Animation Courtyard area, where you can take part in writing the script, filming and preparing a new film product.

There is an underwater diving attraction dedicated to legendary history about Nautilus and Captain Nemo. You can also fly into space on a real rocket or feel like a brave astronaut in a meteor shower.

The final and quieter area is Disney Village. This is where the bulk of souvenir shops, restaurants, themed cafes and museums are located. There are also dance floors, a cinema and a mini golf course available. So, even despite the cool weather, you definitely won’t be bored.

Christmas and New Year at Disneyland

In the land of Disney there is such a fabulous holiday as New Year They cannot celebrate in a boring and ordinary way. Experienced guests say that a trip to Disneyland for Christmas and New Year is literally unforgettable. And this time the celebration is expected to be grandiose - in 2017, Disneyland Park celebrates its 25th anniversary! This means that the fireworks will be brighter, the parades will be longer, the gifts will be more interesting, and your vacation at Disneyland will be unforgettable!

Every year new heroes take part in the event. It all depends on the popularity of certain characters lately. But there are also classic Christmas characters, without whom the celebration would not be so atmospheric. You will certainly be greeted by elves, gnomes, deer, fairies, snowmen and Père Noel (French Santa) himself. His house and a large chair are installed on the central platform. Elves sing and dance near the residence, and the kind grandfather himself receives guests, writes down orders for gifts and happily takes pictures.

At certain periods, Santa gets on his sleigh and rides around the park, stopping here and there, greeting obedient children and congratulating adults on the upcoming holidays. He also takes part in the parade that takes place on Main Street. Together with him, the most famous Disney characters will travel along the long alley: the chipmunks Chip and Dale, Aladdin and Genie with the monkey Abu, the friendly team of Mickey Mouse with Goofy, Minimouse, Donald and others. Here you can see all the princesses of the Disney universe, fairies, wizards and even episodic characters.

In 2018, a separate theme will be the heroes of two stories - the cartoon Frozen and the epic Star Wars. Robots, stormtroopers and even the taciturn Chewbacca will all take part in a large-scale parade on glowing floats.

This year, the park administration paid special attention to the Slavic New Year. But, thanks to the contiguity of cultural traditions, it will be interesting for Ukrainian tourists to join such a pastime. The residence of Father Frost will be located near the central Disneyland Hotel 5* from January 2 to January 7. You will be able to communicate with him in Russian, take pictures and, of course, make a wish.

The park will host a variety of interactive Christmas-themed events. In particular, a whole show about Goofy's Christmas is expected, during which the main character will travel around the world New Year's trip. At each thematic site there will be performances by heroes, competitions for the little ones and for those older.

The culmination of the holiday will be a light and sound show at the castle from the fairy tale about Beauty and the Beast. Traditionally, light installations will be displayed on the façade, accompanied by fireworks, songs and illuminated fountains. Paris allocates colossal amounts of money for the fireworks at Disneyland, so the picture will be unforgettable.

Every evening from January 2 to January 7, a 24-meter spruce will be solemnly lit in the central square, to the accompaniment of an orchestra and fireworks.

How to organize a trip to Disneyland

The official website of the park offers its guests the most convenient form for booking tickets, hotel rooms, and even choosing the best option trips. It should be remembered that Disneyland in Paris is the most popular park, and especially during the Christmas holidays. That is why there are huge queues of people wanting to get inside at the ticket office and at the attractions. Ordering a ticket via an electronic network will save not only time, but also nerves. And in some cases also money. In addition, if you buy a ticket online, you can use it for a whole year, at any time convenient for you. A ticket purchased at the box office provides access to Disneyland Paris in winter only on the day of purchase.

If you book during the late autumn-early winter period, the park offers a discount of up to 20% on accommodation and entrance fees, and another 1 to 4 days of half board accommodation is free. But you still need to have time to order such a service - the official website states that the offer is valid only for reservations made before November 29, 2017 for races from November 17, 2017 to March 20, 2018.

The park also offers a Fast Pass service. It involves reducing waiting time in queues. Tickets in this category are a little more expensive, but allow you to enter a number of attractions and locations at certain times of the day, bypassing the usual and fairly long queues.

Disneyland admission ticket prices vary depending on the day of your visit. Despite the fact that the Christmas holiday period is already a bonus, the cost will be different on weekdays and weekends. On weekdays, a 1-day ticket will cost from 57 to 73 dollars per adult and 49-65 dollars per child. On weekends, the price rises to $84-91 per adult and $76-82 per child.

If you purchase a subscription for several days, then 2 days will cost $173 for 1 adult and 154 dollars for 1 child, 3 days - 214 and 192 dollars, respectively.

Children under 3 years old do not need a ticket.

The nuances of visiting Disneyland

It is important to consider that no matter how tempting Disneyland is in winter, you are still in Paris, and almost no one in the park speaks Russian. Or rather, not so - no one here knows the Russian language, except for the Russian characters presented exclusively in 2018. All employees and all service personnel speak English language. In addition, most speak French, German, Spanish and Italian. Therefore, knowledge of one of the foreign languages is important and practically vital.

There are maps and signs throughout the park. But for those who don’t like to spend a long time jostling around stands, a smartphone application has been developed. There you can see the entire layout of the park, as well as find establishments with ratings and even a short menu. Thanks to geolocation, you can find the most convenient and shortest point to your desired destination. And the loaded map will work even if your Internet signal is lost.

The nuance of connecting to the Internet is that there are many access points in the park, but they are all paid, so to use the coverage, you will have to pay at the hotel or the waiter in a cafe.

Let's spend our holidays at Disneyland

Destination- Disneyland, France.

Must have- visa, passport, air tickets, entrance fees and hotel reservations.

To visit France, a Ukrainian must obtain a tourist visa. It is issued by the Visa Section of the French Embassy. Or you can take advantage of visa-free travel if you have issued a biometric passport. The cost of an air ticket from Kyiv to Paris starts from 6,200 hryvnia one way.

The park has hotels of various categories and prices depending on your requirements, capabilities and preferences. All 7 hotels make up a large complex, an entire town, where accommodation is provided from the “ranch” category to 5-star hotels with a gym and swimming pool. We are talking about the following hotels: Disneyland Hotel 5*, Disney’s Hotel New York 4*, Disney’s Newport Bay Club 4*, Disney’s Sequoia Lodge 3*, Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne 2*, Disney’s Hotel Santa Fe 2* and Disney’s Davy Crockett Ranch. Accommodation for two with included tickets at a discounted price will cost from 2,100 hryvnia per day.

If you plan to stay in one of the park's hotels, you won't have to worry about how to get to the entertainment area. A special driver will drive you to the central gate. free bus. Some hotels are located within a 15-minute walk from the park. If you settled in Paris, then plan your travel route in advance.

The most efficient option is to travel by rented car. From Paris, the A4 highway leads to the park, on which there will be a sign indicating the exit towards Disneyland.

You can use the railway and take the RER train on line A from the Opera station to Disneyland. Or by Eurostar train, which takes three times longer, but also costs a little less. In addition, shuttle bus services are provided.

You want to see the magic with your own eyes, even if you are no longer 5 years old. In life there is always a place for miracles, fairy tales and dreams. Perhaps this is why French Disneyland is so popular. The reason is not as important as the result - Disneyland, like Paris, becomes magical in winter. And it is this corner of the world that creates that very light atmosphere that we are looking for during the New Year holidays.

I went online to look for information on the topic, there was a lot of stuff, but it wasn’t very clear. We quickly collected the usual set of documents and sent them to the travel agency. We planned to go in early December, but it turned out to be in the middle. Our main concern was that the children would not get sick. And it’s unclear how the weather is: after all, it’s winter, judging by the photos, the rides are outside. And the “1 free day of stay” promotion was alarming. But everything went well :)

Flight

There are several Disneylands in the world, we went to the one near Paris. There is a direct flight from Kyiv, but the money was almost 2 times more expensive than with a one-hour transfer in Frankfurt. We flew with Lufthansa, the planes were new, and the children were given puzzles or coloring books at the entrance. The plane to Paris was half empty, but the return trip was more difficult.

In Paris on passport control They let the children in without waiting in line, but in their native Boryspil they tormented them a little at one in the morning:(

A company bus runs regularly between Charles de Gaulle Airport and Disneyland, but you can also get there by taxi or by train.

Disneyland structure

Disneyland Paris is divided into 4 areas:
1. Disneyland Park.
2. Walt Disney Studios.
3. Disney Village.
4. Disney Hotels.

There are also parking lots, so car owners have a place to leave their cars.

Disneyland is not Russified at all. The staff does not speak Russian, maps are only in English/French/German/Spanish/Italian. During all this time we heard Russian speech only a few times.

There is no free Internet, only for money, and in limited places, for example, in the hotel lobby.

It turned out that there is a good application for iPhone and Android. You can see a map with descriptions of attractions, the location of Disney characters, cafes with price levels, recommended places, etc. The current location is shown, so you won't get lost on the first day. And, most importantly, you only need to download the map once, then it will work without Internet. However, sometimes the application crashes and you need to reload the information.

Disneyland Park

More details about the main park. We spent 2.5 days there and really liked it. The park is divided into 5 themed areas: Main Street U.S.A., Frontierland, Adventureland, Discoveryland and Fantasyland. Everything is very colorful and beautifully done. In the evening the lights come on and it generally looks cool.

There are many outdoor attractions like our carousels, except that they are usually controlled. For example, using the joystick, the basket you are in rises up/down. To get on them, you have to stand in line for about 20 minutes, spend 5 minutes getting everyone seated, and then ride around for a few minutes. Not much fun, I think it's more suitable for kids. The main attractions are indoors in large rooms, meaning it doesn’t matter what the weather is. I just stopped noticing when it rains or winds.

My favorite was "Pirates" Caribbean Sea" (Pirates of the Caribbean). There you get on a boat and travel past treasures, various scenes with pirates and sunken ships.

We went to "Buzz" (Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast) 3 times - the kids loved shooting at targets with blasters. For each hit, points are awarded. Something like a space shooting gallery.

Near each attraction it is indicated how long you need to wait in line. On a weekday 20-45 minutes, on Saturday it was hell - a lot of people. Some attractions have a separate smaller queue where you can enter with a FastPass. The technology is this: with a regular ticket you get a free FastPass, which you can use only to the selected attraction within 30-60 minutes. After that, you can take another FastPass, etc. Thanks to this, you can save time: get a FastPass, for example, for “Peter Pan,” and then get in line for “Pirates.” When you get out of them, then return to "Peter Pan". There is also some FastPass Premium, but we didn't have them.

At the exit from the main attractions you find yourself in a themed store with souvenirs and gifts. There you can also buy a photo in a beautiful frame, which is made at the end. We collected about 7 of them, now we don’t know where to put them :)

In the Park, in certain places, heroes hang out with whom you can take a photo or get an autograph.

Walt Disney Studios

We only spent 1 day in this park and we still have a lot to explore next time. Everything here is also well done, but the difference in the age of the visitors is somewhat confusing. It’s one thing to fly on Aladdin’s magic carpet, it’s quite another to listen for 15 minutes in French about the special effects of the movie “Armageddon”, and then visit a spaceship and appreciate these effects in the form of smoke, fire, etc. live.

But in this park there is the famous “Tower of Terror” (The Twilight Zone™ Tower of Terror). It’s really tough: falling in an elevator somewhere from the 10th floor, going up and falling again. I don’t know how the children weren’t afraid, I even put my feet on the floor and grabbed my son’s jacket%)

Disney Village

The village is a network of cafes, cinemas, bowling alleys, etc. We went here to "Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show". Not a bad show: cowboys, Indians, Mickey Mouse and company are performing. At the same time, the waiters serve drinks with food, that is, it’s dinner at once. At the entrance they give you straw tickets hats of different colors, thanks to which the hall is divided into 4 parts, which support their team with the clinking of plates, spoons and stamping, which compete among themselves. Ours won :)

Disney Hotels

Disneyland has its own branded hotels. If you live in them, you can enter the park 2 hours earlier and leave 2 hours later than others. During all this time, we only tried to take advantage of this offer once, so that after the show we could go see Disneyland in the evening, but on that day for some reason it was already closed. We lived in the New Port Bay hotel; for some reason on Ukrainian websites they gave it 4*, but in reality it was 3* or even less.

A 2-room apartment is considered to be a small corridor with a room with two beds.

The Halloween season is not over yet and we are already thinking about the next season. Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year at Disneyland Paris in winter! During this period, the magic of the holiday comes to life, a surge of emotions...! Indeed, winter is approaching, and with it the cold at Disneyland Paris. • Keep an eye on the weather to avoid snow, which is extremely rare, or rain, which is more likely!
  • purchase in advance .

On the spot

Winter is inevitable at Disneyland Paris! During the Christmas season, the park has about the same number of visitors as during the summer season.

But of course, Disneyland in the winter on New Year and Christmas seems more magical than at all other times, its attractions fade into the background, among the magnificent Christmas trees, beautifully decorated streets that seem to have just been pulled out of a cartoon, a frozen lake and snow-covered at Sleeping Beauty Castle. New Year's Disneyland is a celebration of the soul!

You can warm up on the indoor attractions, many shops, restaurants... or take a hot shot of Armageddon: special effects or disasters at the Disney studio... it's always hot there!)

Finally, you can spend a few long minutes finding a great place to watch the Disneyland Park Parade Show. Think about this beforehand! After checking the parade schedule, plan your visit to the park well.

Attractions that are not allowed to operate in the event of icy wind, rain/snow or other negative outdoor temperatures and traffic:

New Year and Christmas in a Parisian amusement park is an immersion into a fairy-tale world that lives in celebration and gives it to others. By visiting the park, you will be able to meet your favorite characters, go on rides, and, of course, take part in the famous parade main street Walt Disney Country.

Disneyland Paris from November to March operates on almost the same schedule as in the summer. Most of the attractions are located indoors, so you and your children will not suffer from bad weather. And winter gives a visit to an amusement park a special charm.

I would like to note that a holiday at Disneyland Paris in winter will delight you with fairly mild weather; the temperature during the day stays around +6 - +8 degrees Celsius, and in the evening drops to +3 - +4 degrees. It is rare when frosts reach -10 C. The climate of the Parisian winter is quite comparable to the Russian spring. So a walk in the fresh air will not cause any emotions other than positive ones.

All 5 theme parks will be available to explore. There is no need to worry whether Disneyland is open in winter, since it never closes.

The residence of Santa Claus (Father Frost, Père Noel) is a small magical village that appears in the park at the end of December and lasts for almost three months. There, your children will be able to chat with Santa, see his helpers, and, of course, receive gifts, as they say, “first-hand.” You will see how the elves are preparing for Christmas, and you will even be able to help them. How to find Santa's house? It is located in the very center of Disneyland, you definitely won’t miss it!

New Year's Eve at Disneyland Paris is celebrated with a large fabulous parade. There you will meet both the permanent participants of the Mickey and Minnie procession (dressed in New Year's costumes) and new heroes of the wonderful world of Walt Disney. The parade is led, of course, by Father Frost. A good wizard follows the streets of an amusement park and turns the surrounding reality into a real fairy tale. This is a sight you definitely won't forget. The parade is famous for its pyrotechnic and lighting effects.

The festive light and music show takes place from late December to early January. Laser beams are projected onto the Princess's palace, and Disney cartoon characters dance to charming music. Every viewer remembers this ball for a long time and remains one of the most vivid impressions of visiting winter Disneyland in Paris. But the famous Wishes fireworks show, which is held to mark the park's closing for the night, is not held during the winter. But this should not sadden you - it will be an excellent reason to visit an amusement park in the warm season.

And, of course, Disneyland Paris in winter, according to reviews from experienced tourists, is famous for its lack of queues and significant discounts, more details about which you can find out both on the official website of the amusement park and from our specialists.

The New Year holidays are a great reason to visit Paris and visit one of the most famous amusement and amusement parks in Europe.
