The iron is no longer hot, but I will continue to forge it diligently. Fortunately, there really is something to show. This day turned out to be one of the most picturesque of all time.
I just announced the beginning of the 3rd day, which began very early for us. I set the alarm for the beginning of the 5th, that's what Charlie and I agreed on. When I woke up, I made sure I was up first and went to wake Charlie up on deck. By the way, Charlie always slept in the open air, wrapped in a sleeping bag. I woke up and started getting ready. And then I decided to anneal it. Taking the howler whistle, he went to wake up Sam, his friend, the captain of the neighboring yacht, with which we were paired and were moored at the sides. He climbed onto their yacht, looked into the hatch from above and saw Sam sleeping, pressed the horn, pointing it inside :))
I watched this from the side, Charlie almost fell off the yacht laughing when he got back to us))) Choking with laughter, he said that Sam flew up a meter on the bed, without changing his position)))
I then expected revenge from Sam for some time, but apparently this is in the order of things)
The rest of the crew members slowly woke up, calmly weighed anchor, lifted the mooring lines, and set off out to the open sea to greet the dawn.

Also on this day we visited the Blue Lagoon cave, very a nice place. There are two paths to the cave, along the water by boat, and in the cave itself there is still an underwater passage under one of the sides of the rock, and from there comes light, thanks to which the space of the cave is reflected in blue. And after the lagoon we went to the island of Vis, and there we had a great evening in the cozy little town of the same name :)

But first things first...

We leave the bay, past a lonely lighthouse and further into the sea...

And finally, the coastal mountains are painted in bright colors, our sun is on the way.
The entire crew, clutching their photographic equipment, awaits the appearance of the first ray of sun. And finally he looked out from behind the coastal mountains. We exclaim joyfully and start taking pictures with all our might))

This is how our yacht life and the romance of the sea are mixed in one picture

and so Zhenya and Oksana met the dawn

We spin around with Stepanski, first they took pictures of us against the backdrop of the sun, then we switch places

Let's pass Stepanski

But finally Zhenechka woke up and went out in her sleep to watch the sunrise))

We took a photo and slowly went to the cove to get a couple of hours of sleep)

Stepanski very successfully rises in the sun for a small photo shoot

I heard FriendsTravel organizes separate yacht tours. At first I was surprised, but then I realized that at sea on a yacht you can find so many places and time to comprehend Zen (or whatever it is called). That’s when I sat on the deck and enjoyed the surrounding beauty, silence and idleness

And a few more photos

A fur seal rookery was spotted on Stepansk)

It's good in Croatia, I would live here :)

We went into the bay to rest, someone lay down to take a nap, and someone went to swim and sunbathe (of course Zhenya :)). Depth 7m, the bottom was clearly visible

Along the picturesque shores

While we're walking, I decided to take a photo of the interior of our yacht. On the left is our cabin, a double bed, and a hanging shelf-bed for a child, a small closet, a fan, that's all.
And on the right is our bathroom, another similar one is at the bow of the boat. Marine toilets have a clever device ala pumps. First, you need to hold the handle and pump water into the tank, if you do this 10-15 times. Then switch the lever and do your thing. Then all your hidden reserves need to be pumped into the sea, we take hold of the handle and fuck again 15-20 times. That's it. Awesome fitness I tell you :))

Our living room is also a kitchen, sorry, galley. Ahead in the center are two one and a half cabins, and behind them is another bathroom, to which doors lead from both cabins.
Absolutely all walls and bunks serve as places to store things and food. And on the right is a view of our aft cabins and stairs, our cabin is on the right.

A refrigerator and an inertial plate that holds the horizon when the yacht tilts, unless, of course, it is fixed at the same time. Before moving and especially selling, it is recommended to remove everything from the shelves. And be sure to close the refrigerator securely. Otherwise, on our first trip, a dozen eggs flew out of it and the oil turned over. Such a fabulous piece of shit came out, Oksana and I got tired of the whole thing, wiping it all off with paper towels

A one-and-a-half-wheeler and a navigation compartment, with a chartplotter, walkie-talkies, a control center and other technical intricacies

By the way, haven’t I tired you yet with my reports? :)

If not, then soon we will move on to photos from the most beautiful cave, now we are approaching the island where it is located.

The bay near the cave is full of yachts, from which boats are constantly scurrying towards the cave. Here beautiful yacht for example, and the glare from the water on the bow

By the way, I noticed that there are a lot of young people on yachts. Vacations on a yacht are very common among them; they rent a yacht and head out across the seas and lands.

Traffic. And from our yacht, the tike, led by Charlie, took the first batch of crew to the cave. Zhenya and I were left to cook)

The entrance to the cave is located under this rock.

Here's some information I googled about her:
The Blue Cave is located on the island of Bishevo near the island of Vis and is a unique natural attraction of the Adriatic. In the morning, thanks to the sun's rays, the cave seems to glow from within, and the water takes on a beautiful blue hue. Entrance to the cave is paid. You can get to the cave by excursion boat, which picks up tourists in one of the coves near the cave. Due to the abundance of tourists, there is quite a lot of boat traffic in the cave; the use of a motor in the cave is prohibited due to the confined space. For the same reason, swimming is not allowed in the cave.

Well, I don’t know about prohibitions, there weren’t a lot of people there, and Charlie was the first to jump into the water, setting an example :))
And then I

And then Zhenya :)

I still haven’t figured out how to take a good and beautiful photo. It's dark without a flash, but not so with a flash...

twisted there and back. You can’t swim and take pictures)) But if you really want to....))

We stayed there a little longer, had lunch ourselves and fed the fish. Yes, and sailed to the island of Vis

On the way we sailed a bit, we set up the mainsail

On the way, I dozed off a little and woke up exactly as we entered the bay

The island of Vis was inhabited by the ancient Greeks from Syracuse back in the 4th century BC, served as a Greek colony and was called Issa. The island has always had strategic importance, as it was located in the very center of the Adriatic. Almost to this day, the island was fortified, giving it the significance of a fortress. The most famous naval battle off Vis took place in 1866 between the Austrian and Italian fleets, in which the Italian fleet was defeated.

Well, we missed the comfortable parking at the piers, everything was already occupied. And our attempt to squeeze between two yachts was harshly stopped...

So we went to moor to the buoys. I forgot what it's called correctly. I thread the mooring lines through the loop on the buoy. the shorts are dirty from some kind of putty that was used on the cockpit benches. In the heat they become smudged. Upon arrival, the shorts were retired, alas.

Croatia along the coast Adriatic Sea, is an ideal destination for beach lovers. All that remains is to select the region. Best beaches, almost 90% of which belongs to the state, are concentrated in four zones: on the Istrian peninsula, in Central and. We suggest studying each region in detail.

Istrian coast: the most famous beaches of Croatia

The climate is Mediterranean, which means it is a little drier and colder here than in Dalmatia - the average summer temperature is +28–30°C, which is especially pleasant for holidaymakers in July-August. The beach season can begin as early as May and end by the end of October. There are plenty of beaches here, many are marked with the international Blue Flag sign for the cleanliness of the sea and water area. Let's walk through the main cities.

The main feature of a beach holiday in this region is the vast park areas that stretch from horizon to horizon along the sea. The air smells of the sea, pine needles, and the trees reach to the very edge of the water. You can lie all day long in the dense shade of the trees or, taking two steps closer to the surf line, bask under the gentle Croatian sun.

1) Umag– diving and tennis center of western Croatia near Slovenia. Most of the beaches here are pebbly:

  • Laguna Stella Maris– the most flat and small-pebble, located just 3 kilometers from the city center.
  • Katoro– combines areas of sand and pebbles, surrounded by pine trees, located in the same area resort village near Umag. Suitable for family vacation– there are playgrounds and sports grounds, a swimming pool and water slides.

  • Sol Polynesia- one of many sandy beaches Croatia in this region, pebble zones are also found. The highlight of the beach is grass courts for football and badminton, a children's playground and a bar, as well as walking distance.

  • Kanova– a rocky area with concrete areas near the campsite, located 8 kilometers from Umag, in a picturesque bay. Famous for its Večeri Karigadora - evenings with live music, fish dishes and dancing.

  • Savudrijarocky beach in the resort town of the same name. A favorite place for surfers, there is a campsite, restaurants and sports grounds. The main attraction is the 19th century lighthouse.

2) Porec- will be the second one you see after Umag, if you move south. A cozy Mediterranean city surrounded by greenery, famous for the Euphrasian Basilica with Byzantine mosaics, the remains of ancient Roman temples and forums and, of course, 17 well-groomed small-pebble beaches with bays and lagoons (length coastline is about 64 km). As the city authorities note, 20% of all Blue Flags in Croatia are concentrated in Porec. Here are the most famous beaches:

  • City Beach– city beach in the very center of Porec. For tourists, there are water sports activities available here, there are several cafes and a popular night club Parentium.

  • Bellevue beach– located in the Blue Lagoon, approximately 2 km from the city center. The beach belongs to a hotel complex - special descents to the sea have been created for vacationers, a first-aid post, parking and a lifeguard base are equipped.

  • Oliva (S. Nikola)– located on a small island opposite the city port. The beach is surrounded by a pine park.

  • Beach at Laguna Materada***– consists of concrete platforms and sunbathing lawns. Marked " Blue flag", you can do aquatic species sports

  • Beach Hotel Village Laguna Galijot****– pebble area with concrete platforms (with descents and stairs) 5 km from Porec. There are outdoor swimming pools, children's water slides, paid sun loungers and umbrellas.

3) Rovinj– one of the 225 most amazing places world in 2015 (according to National Geographic magazine). And one of the most beautiful cities Istria, Croatia and the world (in our opinion)! A relatively large medieval town with cobbled streets, polished to a shine by thousands of pairs of feet. The center with the traditional Old Town and indescribably beautiful pink sunsets - exactly like the pink dessert wine Biser Mora from the Katunar winery! We recommend buying a cool bottle of wine, a couple of glasses of raspberries in the center and ending the evening by going up to the very top high point old town near the Church of St. Euphemia. Find the most secluded place on the rocks, watch how the sea solemnly shimmers and every minute pleasure boats and snow-white yachts leave and return from the port.

The most famous local beach is located on St. Catherine Island - here tourists can find a diving center, rent windsurfing equipment, and play beach golf or volleyball. The north-west of the island attracts jumpers high cliffs in the sea.

If you plan to ride catamarans or boats, the gently sloping small-pebble beach of Lone Bay (15 minutes walk from the city center) is suitable. It is located on the territory of a shady park; you can have a snack in one of two snack bars.

Another picturesque beach marked with the Blue Flag is Vestar (5 km from the city center), stretching for 700 meters. Here (at the campsite) you can rent sports and boating equipment. The entrance to the sea is gentle, ideal for small children.

4) Pula- a port city in which many antiquities of the Roman era remain (all attractions are within walking distance from each other). The beaches here, as on the entire Istra Peninsula, are rocky and pebble, many with concrete areas:

  • Vile Štinjan– the beach is 5 km from Pula, thanks to its convenient entry into the water, it is suitable even for older couples and. There is a sand volleyball court, bike paths, a diving center and a restaurant with beautiful views of the Briony Islands.

  • Gortanova Bay is famous for its small coves that have long been occupied by divers. The entrance to the sea is gentle, there is a beach cafe.

  • Brioni is one of 44 Blue Flag beaches in Istria. Located near the Verudela resort and the 2-star Brioni hotel with outdoor pools.

5) Opatija- a city surrounded by laurel forests, where Chekhov, Nabokov and Remarque loved to relax. Luxurious villas in the thickets of magnolias and bamboo, the legendary Camellia cake with figs, (the city is reliably protected from the winds by the Učka Mountains and other islands) – the Opatija Riviera is considered one of the most elegant Croatian resorts, often compared to Cote d'Azur. In summer, the sea warms up to +26°C, the air temperature is +23–25°C. Almost all local beaches are concreted, there are stairs leading into the sea, and separate sandy areas are dedicated to playing volleyball. Almost everyone offers guests swimming pools with sea water. The following are very popular:

  • Slatina- most famous beach city, stretching along the beautiful Lungomare embankment. The recreation area is equipped with showers, you can rent an umbrella and sunbed, and there are souvenir kiosks within walking distance. The descent into the water is concrete, like in a swimming pool. There is a free playground, ice cream parlor, roasted chestnut stalls, etc.

  • Moscenicka Draga– a beach with small pebbles and bright turquoise water, 15 km from the center of Opatija. To be more precise, this is a whole strip (6 km) that unites several beaches. There are almost no waves; during the high season (July-August) there are a lot of vacationers here. There are ramps for the disabled, you can rent catamarans or water scooters.

  • Medveja– a large (about 45 thousand m²) beach with large pebbles. Come here with children - there is a water park and scuba rentals on the beach, bicycle paths, and a restaurant with a large selection of the freshest seafood.

  • Lido– it’s worth visiting here at least once after sunset! In close proximity to the beach there is the picturesque Angioliny Park, as well as a cinema under open air– they not only show films here, but also organize concerts. Plus - all conditions for sea sports, rental of surfboards and even a 6-meter diving board.

Dalmatia: the best resorts in Croatia with a sandy beach

The shores of Dalmatia are washed by the Adriatic Sea. Unlike Istria, the coastal landscapes here are more diverse - pine trees interspersed with palm trees and olive trees, there are many small bays and harbors. Conventionally, the region is divided into Central, Southern and Northern Dalmatia.

6) Rijeka(Northern Dalmatia) – option for active rest. Come here if you are bored with active traffic, city noise, and wide avenues. Firstly, it is easy to get from here by bus to other cities in Croatia, Italy or Slovenia. Just 30 km from here is the island of Krk with international airport(the island is connected to the mainland by a 1.5-kilometer bridge). Secondly, it is the third largest city in Croatia, so there are many cultural attractions here - from the bustling pedestrian street Crozeau to the ancient Trsat castle. Thirdly, there are two huge well-equipped beaches within Rijeka. A few minutes from the center is Kostrena - you can get here along the busy promenade, renting a catamaran or boat on site. A little more distant is the small pebble beach of Ploce (landmark - Kantridi stadium) with an area of 14 km², with equipped embankments, restaurants and a volleyball court.

7) Trogir(Middle Dalmatia) – this region is characterized by small pebble beaches with small sandy areas. There are no beaches directly in the city, but there is a port from where motor boats and speedboats take tourists around the surrounding area. Among the largest beaches:

  • Okrug Gornji on the island of Ciovo (3 km from Trogir, you can get to the island by bridge) - quiet places, shallow sea, lots of small bars. Unofficially, this 2-kilometer beach is called Trogir’s Copacabana due to the abundance of entertainment (including nightlife) and colorful scenery. Nearby there are bakeries and a restaurant, a supermarket and a pharmacy.

  • In the eastern part of Ciovo there is a beach Slatine(12 km from Trogir) – also small-pebble, with clear water. There is almost no entertainment here (only a couple of cafes), but even at the height of the season it is quite uncrowded.

  • Mavarstice Bay Beach consists of concrete slabs with stairs into the sea, in some places you can find sandy areas. Popular hotels with a sandy beach in Croatia are concentrated here - for example, Villa Punta Liveli or the eponymous Villa Mavarštica. The place is very quiet, far from the main highways, all household waste is drained into septic tanks and transported to the mainland.

Zadar(Northern Dalmatia) - a favorite area for windsurfers and kitesurfers, it also contains most of Croatia's sandy beaches for children. The largest recreation areas:

  • Sakarun(Dugi Otok island) – this beach produces a wow effect on everyone who sees it for the first time! It is located on nature conservation area(there are no sun loungers or umbrellas on the beach), the water is clean, bright turquoise, easy entry into the sea.

9) famous for its mild Mediterranean climate, quarries (Brac limestone, for example, is used to line the White House in Washington) and the iconic resort of Bol. It is there that perhaps the main attraction of the country is located - the small pebble beach at Cape Golden Horn (Zlatni rât), marked with the Blue Flag. Depending on the direction of winds and sea currents, the cape changes its outline - it is a popular place among lovers of water skiing, parasailing, jet skis and others. water activities.

This is not the only beach on the island; there are many secluded green recreation areas on Brac: Splitska, Mirca, Supetar, Postira, etc.

10) Sibenik(Central Dalmatia) – if you are collecting information about where there are sandy beaches in Croatia, you cannot do without mentioning this city. It is here, 6 km from the city center, that beautiful beach Solaris with fine white sand - it is adjacent to the Solaris Holiday Resort hotel complex, which includes five hotels. The location is excellent - there are two nearby National parks with waterfalls, AquaLand water park, SPA centers.

The second lively beach in the region is Slanica on the island of Murter, which has its own amusement park, numerous bars and restaurants. The sea is shallow, suitable for children. There is a nudist beach nearby.

If you want something more secluded, head to Cigrada – rocky beach on the same island or on the pebble Podvrske. There are not many people here, there are small fish restaurants.

11) It is considered the most expensive and romantic resort in Southern Dalmatia - the landscapes here are reminiscent of Italy. Small villages stretch for almost 60 km, surrounded by pine forests - sometimes pine trees create a cozy shade right on the beaches, and the air smells of the sea and pine needles. By choosing this option, you can diversify beach holiday with trekking in the Biokovo mountain range. The beaches here are usually small-pebble:

  • Nikolina in the municipality it is suitable for families with children - kids can play on the playground or jump on trampolines, with lifeguards monitoring safety. Pine trees create natural shade.

  • Punta Rata in the resort there is a long beach along the promenade with numerous restaurants and pizzerias. There is a rental of catamarans and jet skis, and conditions have been created for people with disabilities (including special descents into the water).
per square meter (the famous series is filmed in Dubrovnik and Split and excursions are conducted “to places of military glory”). The lion's share of Croatia's sandy beaches is concentrated here, the climate is subtropical, with very hot summers (the average maximum is +28°C). Top hotels with beaches – Valamar Lacroma Dubrovnik, Hotel Excelsior Dubrovnik, Rixos Hotel Libertas, Hotel Splendid, etc.

Pebble beaches – Vucine(in Zuljana Bay), Veliki Zali(30 km from Dubrovnik, near the village of Brsecine), Sveti Jakov(bay near the Church of St. James in the Old Town).

The longest sandy beach in Dubrovnik – Lapad. The infrastructure here is 100% developed - you can rent a sunbed or umbrella, shop at souvenir shops or play badminton in the shade of the olive trees. A special plus is that the swimming area is protected from water transport. Another sandy beach - Vela Przina in the south (ferries go here from Dubrovnik). It is considered the second most popular beach in all of Croatia - the place is protected from the winds by protruding rocks with vineyards, there are restaurants and rental centers for water sports equipment. If you want to find more beautiful place, check out the rocky beach Buza under the walls of the Old Town - despite the outward “wildness”, there are descents into the water, sun loungers and even its own bar.

As you already understand, in Croatia you can find beach areas for every taste - from typical urban concrete areas to sandy beaches in the shade of pine groves. And most importantly: in almost every region, every town there are several very diverse beaches. People traditionally come to Southern Dalmatia for health benefits - the air, saturated with pine esters and iodine, is very beneficial for the respiratory tract. Typical party regions are Dubrovnik and Split. The clearest water and delicious seafood can be found in Central Dalmatia. Whatever you choose, bright emotions are guaranteed!

A nice place in Sithonia, not accessible to everyone, located near the village of Vourvourou.
The place is called Blue Lagoon and you can only get to it by renting a boat.
How to rent a motorboat without a license in Sithonia is written.

The Blue Lagoon is located between two islands opposite Vourvourou.
In this place the sea bottom is sandy.
The depth is about 3 meters.
Along the perimeter at the bottom there is sea grass and the color of the water in this place is dark, so a beautiful contrast is created: light turquoise water with the shadow of the boat at the bottom, and along the edges of the lagoon the water is dark blue.

The place has now become very popular, so the best option– go here early in the morning, while no one is there.
It's very busy here during the day, but you'll still get some photos.
It is best to do them with a drone, from above.

There are also two places where you can moor to the shore - small bays for a couple of boats.
This is in case you are afraid to fly the drone from a boat and need a stationary surface.

Is it worth staying in Vourvourou?

Vourvourou is coastal village, consisting of all kinds of “home-stays” and apartments.
There is a lot of housing here, but it is all of the same type, the Crimean version is when the room is filled to capacity with beds.

The beach in Vourvourou is shallow, the sea is calm and warm, which is probably why people come here with children.
If this is your style of relaxation and society, then Vourvourou is for you.

Otherwise, it is better to look for accommodation outside Vourvourou.
For example, to the north, in the area, .

Sithonia where to stay

It all depends on your preferences and budget.
Personally, I prefer to stay in places where there is no tourist mass.
Until recently it was .
This year we stopped at .

To book accommodation in Sithonia, use the website booking_com .
Also a proven resource for booking accommodation directly from private owners - AirBnB
You can try to book something through private traders, but then you risk losing money, housing and ruining your vacation.
The decision is of course yours, just remember the good proverb: “the miser pays twice.”

Villa "Antonia" on top of the hill on which the tourist resort is located complex Laguna Bellevue, with an antique-luxurious room, which we were generously allocated upon arrival, was nevertheless exchanged at the end of the day for a more familiar modest apartment, also with a sea view, but a little lower. The apartment was spacious and two-room, with two bathrooms and, again, two balconies, which was twice as much as we paid for. Okay, but still a bit high. After two or three days, our legs got used to it, and we began to fully enjoy our holiday in Croatia.

The kitchen is equipped with everything you need, a minimarket is nearby, a larger store is downstairs, by the sea. There are all sorts of delicacies, fruits, beer and wine, and everything else, there were no problems with the food. We’ve been to Croatia twice already, this time we chose apartment accommodation so as not to be tied to the restaurant’s schedule, there are advantages to this, but there are also disadvantages: food needs to be prepared...

However, it was possible to pay half board at a nearby hotel, if for three days, then 18 euros per day per person. Plava Lagoon in our opinion is the Blue Lagoon. Remember the blue intergalactic singer from The Fifth Element?

RECREATION AND ENTERTAINMENT IN ISTRIA. PLAVA LAGUNA AND PORECH

We swam and sunbathed, if there was no excursion, we went to cozy Porec on foot (3 km) and by boat (departure every hour), returned the same way, and sometimes on a children's train. When we got used to it, it turned out that everything was not so far and high. But the Europeans didn’t go down anywhere at all: at the top of the hill there was a swimming pool, next to a bar and tavern “Istrinskaya Hut”, where else to go? Most of all there are Austrians and Germans, with some Italians.

The sea is good, the beaches are different, there are small beaches with pebbles, just for a couple of people, there are places built on rocks, concreted or lined with flat stones with steps or ladders for descending into the water. There are no hedgehogs, there is vegetation at the bottom, fry and small gray fish with a spot on their tail are scurrying around. Few fishermen on the piers did not boast about their catches; the size was the length of an index finger.

As night fell, the hill fell into an inky silence, broken only by the whisper of the sea. Plava Laguna is a place for a quiet, very quiet family holiday (another family could have been moved into our apartment, and we probably wouldn’t have noticed them), but in the neighboring “Mediterranean” there was thunderous live music. Mediteran, an inconspicuous-looking gray building, is located a couple of minutes walk down the hill, as if in the opposite direction from the sea, but they also have a sea, we lived, as it were, on a peninsula, there was water on three sides. The hotel looks good inside, but only three stars.
