Despite the fact that Vnukovo is oldest airport Moscow, its infrastructure is quite conveniently designed and allows you to quickly find your way around. The layout of Vnukovo Airport is quite simple - the complex consists of 3 terminals - A, B and D. In addition, there is a closed VIP terminal serving the government and charter flights.

  • Vnukovo-1 is intended for passenger flights.
  • Vnukovo-2 is a government terminal. Despite the fact that Vnukovo is the most small airport Moscow, its importance cannot be underestimated, since among the people it serves are the president of the country and members of governments foreign countries. The terminal is located one and a half kilometers from the passenger complex.
  • Vnukovo-3 is a business aviation service center located in a westerly direction on the airfield. The complex has direct access to Borovskoye Highway.

Passenger complex Vnukovo-1

Vnukovo-1 air terminal is the most popular complex, consisting of three terminals adjacent to each other. Vnukovo A- this terminal serves most domestic and international flights operating regularly. Vnukovo B accepts charters. Vnukovo D only accepts flights from the North Caucasus. It is partially decommissioned.

Terminal A

The main building that deserves special attention is Terminal A. It consists of several levels, including underground. This is the most spacious terminal, equipped in accordance with modern requirements.

The underground level is combined with railway station, where the Aeroexpress train arrives, it is in many ways similar to the capital’s metro. The lower level is connected to the upper halls of the terminal by an elevator.

The first level of the terminal is designed to serve arriving flights and is equipped with a waiting room for greeting passengers. This is where arriving passengers pass through customs control and get your luggage.

The second level is designed to serve departing passengers. Check-in counters are located here, where customs and passport control, and the boarding gate is also provided. In a sterile area, all the infrastructure that passengers may need is located. Shops, children's rooms, ATMs, cafes and cinemas. The boarding gates are also located here: on the right side of the terminal - at international flights, and on the left - to internal ones.

The third level houses airline representative offices and business lounges. It impresses with its huge space and high undulating ceiling, decorated with glass inserts.

Switching between terminals

Looking at the diagram, you will notice that the Entrance to Terminal A is located on the underground level, so you can get to the terminal from Aeroexpress without going outside, which significantly reduces travel time if the departure is from Terminal A. You can also get to the terminal from the location area multi-storey parking lots. The diagram shows that they are located near the exit from the overpass.

On the opposite side opposite the parking lots there is bus stop from which buses depart to the Yugo-Zapadnaya metro station. Thus, there is also an entrance to Terminal A from public transport stops.

This terminal can also be accessed from the overpass (check-in is free) through the departures area located on the second floor.

You can only go from Terminal A to Terminal B or D along the street. This should be taken into account when planning your time so as not to miss your flight.

It is not possible to get to terminals B and D from the overpass. The entrance to the terminals is located at ground level.

Terminal D can be reached by using the entrance to Terminal B. Both terminals are connected by a walkway. There is no separate exit from Terminal D. As the diagram shows, it is located between terminals A and B and is a walk-through.

Important! Since August 2015, the exit pattern from Terminal A has been changed. The ability to use the exit from the departure area, located on the second level of Terminal A, to the overpass, is limited. This was done in order to increase the safety of passengers and eliminate congestion that began to form on the overpass as a result of drivers’ abuse of parking rules on the overpass.

You need to check your departure terminal in advance, as well as review the route between terminals according to the airport map in order to prevent being late for your flight.

And all of Russia. More than 80 flights depart from here every day to European countries and regions of our country, because it has the most developed domestic flight network.

Where is Vnukovo located?

Before telling you how to get to Vnukovo Airport, it’s worth figuring out where it is located.

Vnukovo Airport is located outside the Moscow Ring Road, 28 km southwest of the center of Moscow and consists of three air terminal complexes.

Vnukovo-1 is responsible for transporting ordinary passengers. There are three terminals here, each of which takes on a specific task:

  • Terminal A serves domestic flights and most international routes, receiving 79% of all traffic.
  • Terminal B is responsible for charter flights and Asian low-cost airlines. It accounts for 19% of passengers.
  • Terminal D at this moment out of service and used only for arrivals and post-arrival screening of some flights.

Vnukovo-2 is located south of the Vnukovo-1 terminals and is responsible for servicing persons of national importance: the president, government and official representatives of other states.

Vnukovo-3 has the status of a VIP complex and is located slightly west of the passenger terminals near Borovskoye Highway.

Vnukovo airport: how to get there?

Moscow is very close to the main Vnukovo terminals, which means there are many ways to get to them:

  • by Aeroexpress;
  • by car;
  • by bus and minibus.

All of these options have their pros and cons. Some are attracted by the price, others by the opportunity to quickly find themselves in the right place.

How to get to Vnukovo Airport by metro

The airport is located outside the Moscow Ring Road, away from the metro, but there are minibuses and buses from some stations (Yugo-Zapadnaya and Oktyabrskaya), and an Aeroexpress from Kievsky Station (Kyiv metro station).

Aeroexpress Vnukovo is a high-speed train that travels non-stop to the final destination Vnukovo-1 in 35 minutes.

The entrance to the Kievsky station building, from where trains depart, is located opposite the Evropeisky shopping center. You can also purchase tickets there if you have not done so in advance online.

The cost of travel on the express train is 340 rubles one way, 680 rubles both ways. There are also a number of special rates for groups and beneficiaries. There are even passes for a whole month for those who very often use Aeroexpress services.

Trains arrive at an underground station near the airport, from where there is a passage to Terminal A. To get to Terminals B and D, you will need to go outside, following the signs on the signs, turn left and go under the overpass.

How to get to Vnukovo airport by bus

There are several routes to the airport building regular buses from the Yugo-Zapadnaya metro station to the Airport stop:

  • No. 611 goes with all stops, the travel time will take 35-40 minutes.
  • No. 611с - express, travel time - 30 minutes.
  • No. 611f - minibus, following the bus route in 20-25 minutes.
  • No. 272 - stops everywhere, including at the “Hotel” stop, from where you need to walk about 200 meters to the airport.

Regular city fares apply on these flights: “Single pass”, “90 minutes”.

Finding a parking lot near the Yugo-Zapadnaya metro station is quite simple: at the exit from the station in the direction of the train, turn right, then, after exiting the passage, go left and look for a sign with the numbers of the required buses.

Often transport is already parked there, waiting for its passengers.

How to get to Vnukovo by minibus

In addition to buses, there are also minibuses to Vnukovo Airport. They depart both from the Yugo-Zapadnaya metro station and from ring station"Oktyabrskaya".

From the Yugo-Zapadnaya metro station minibus No. 45. Travel time on it takes only 20-25 minutes, but the fare is 100 rubles. These comfortable minibuses depart from the same stop as city ones, and payment is made from the driver.

Minibuses No. 705m run from Oktyabrskaya metro station. To find them, you need to turn right at the exit from the station lobby. The stop is located between the kiosks. The fare for this route is 130 rubles, and the journey to the airport will take about 45 minutes, depending on the traffic situation.

This is not the most convenient and cheapest form of transport, given that you will have to pay an additional 10 rubles for each piece of luggage.

How to get to Vnukovo Airport by car

You can get to the airport along three highways: Kievsky, Minsky and Borovsky. The shortest route runs along Kievsky, but it all depends on the congestion of the routes. Sometimes the longest path is the shortest.

For those who get there on their own personal transport, in the airport area there are two covered paid parking lots for 700 cars. They are located 30 meters from the entrance to Terminal A.

When entering the airport, the driver must receive a parking ticket. From the moment you receive this ticket, your parking time begins to count down. If the car stays in this zone for more than 15 minutes, after parking it is necessary to pay for the parking time at the rates indicated in the cash registers.

When leaving the territory, the parking ticket is inserted into a special machine counter, and if the car does not have unpaid parking time, the barrier will rise and you can continue driving.

These are the main options for getting to Vnukovo Airport. They all have some advantage over others, and each person can choose a method to their liking and wallet.

However, finally I would like to give some advice:

1. During rush hour on weekdays, you should refrain from traveling public transport in Moscow. But even at other times, it’s worth checking traffic jams more often, otherwise there’s a chance you’ll be late for your plane.

2. If you leave Moscow by public transport or car, be sure to allow two to three extra hours for the road.

3. Aeroexpress does not operate at night, like public transport. Getting to the airport at night is only possible by car or taxi.

4. There is no direct route from Vnukovo to other Moscow airports. You can choose either a taxi, or the combined option of aeroexpress + metro or minibus + metro.

The Aeroexpress train to Vnukovo takes approximately 35 minutes without stops from the Kievsky railway station in Moscow. Trains run in both directions daily from 6 am to midnight.

Vnukovo Airport is the oldest in Moscow. It consists of three main terminals, which are designated by the letters A, B, D. When answering the question of how many terminals there are in Vnukovo, in addition to these three, it is also necessary to mention the government terminal (Vnukovo-2) and the complex for VIP clients (Vnukovo-3) . These buildings are located separately from the three main ones. But they are not far away. In addition, these complexes are quite easy to find, since there are special signs along the road from the terminals.

Terminal A is the largest. Approximately 80% of the total flow is served here. Previously, it operated exclusively domestic flights within the country, but over the past 3 years it has also served international passengers. Terminal B handles approximately 18% of passenger traffic. It primarily serves charter flights to various international destinations, as well as flights to Asia and low-cost flights. Terminal D was built back in the 80s. However, despite the fact that it was reconstructed not so long ago, now it practically does not serve passengers. It is used today exclusively for the arrival of domestic flights. It is worth noting that the layout of Vnukovo Airport is designed in such a way that you can only exit terminal D through building B. All these buildings are located in one line.

The so-called special terminal, separately worthwhile complex Vnukovo-2 is designed to serve government officials. It is located close to the main three terminals, further south. In the western part there is another complex. This is the VIP lounge at Vnukovo-3 airport. This building is dedicated to business flights.

Terminal A

This complex consists of three floors, thanks to which it is possible to separate several flows of passengers arriving or departing here. On level -1 there is a transition to the Aeroexpress station. There are also luggage storage facilities, as well as numerous UTair self-check-in counters.

Below is the arrivals area, where customs control is carried out and baggage is issued. There is a waiting room for those who meet passengers. You can buy souvenirs on this floor. There are cafes, check-in counters, ATMs and ticket offices for various airlines.
From the overpass you can get directly to the second floor of this terminal. There is no need to pay to enter the overpass. On the second floor, security checks are carried out and oversized luggage is checked in. There is an information desk and airline ticket offices here. On the second floor there is a specially designated sterile area from which you can board. Also on this level there are cafes, shops with souvenirs and other goods, and ATMs. There is a DVD cinema on the second floor.

To make it easier for passengers to navigate this level of the terminal, the diagram of Vnukovo Airport will be very useful in this case. Briefly for better orientation:

  • In the departure area in the left corner there is a service desk for disabled people and a children's room.
  • There are public toilets on the right side of the departure area.
  • There is a cafe in the right corner.
  • Boarding for domestic flights is on the left side of the building.
  • International flights board on the right side of the terminal.

The third floor is for waiting for flights. There is a cafe here. There is also a business lounge on the third level. To get here, you need to go up to the top, that is, the 3rd floor; you do not need to go through passport and customs control.

For ease of movement around the terminal, there are elevators, escalators, and travelators. There are special elevators for disabled people and ramps. There is Wi-Fi on all floors.

Terminal B

This terminal handles most international charter flights as well as regular flights. In the future, it is planned to transfer all regular flights to the first terminal (A). Therefore, it is likely that Terminal B will soon serve only charter flights. This building consists of two floors.

On the ground floor you need to register and check in your luggage. There is an arrivals hall, a cafe, and ticket offices that sell not only air tickets, but also train tickets. There are also special counters on the ground floor where you can book hotel rooms and order a taxi. There is Wi-Fi here too.
The second floor is used to carry out passenger control procedures and check them hand luggage. This is where the boarding gates are located. On the floor above there is a lounge for passengers who have purchased business class tickets. In addition, there are special check-in counters for passengers flying without luggage.

Terminal D

This terminal is practically not used anymore. There are no flights from here. The terminal does not have its own exit. The only thing it is still used for is flying from North Caucasus. This is due to the increased requirements of the special services. It is expected that this terminal will be completely closed soon. The building itself is planned to be demolished.

Passenger check-in at this terminal ends 40 minutes before the scheduled departure time. And check-in begins at least 2 hours before departure. This time is set individually for each airline. To save time, passengers are advised to check in online as with only 40 minutes left before departure, counter staff will no longer be able to check in passengers. After registration, you need to go to the second floor to go through all the necessary registration procedures (including customs control). Boarding ends twenty minutes before departure.

VIP room

This is a hall that is located separately from other terminals and serves passengers regardless of which terminal they depart from. In this complex, passengers are given the opportunity to check-in for flights within the country and to other countries. Customs and passport control are also carried out here. But all this is available only to VIP passengers. There is a separate parking area for passenger cars. Clients have the opportunity to order a meeting room.

The services provided in the lounge are available only to those VIP passengers who have purchased a voucher at the ticket office (of any terminal) or have entered into a cooperation agreement (if the client is entity). Services must be ordered no later than one day before departure. Heroes of the Soviet Union, the Russian Federation and participants of the Great Patriotic War are served free of charge in this hall.

Vnukovo-2

This is a terminal serving the government. Only government officials are served here. Moreover we're talking about about leaders and other representatives of the government of any state who fly to the Russian Federation on official working visits at the invitation of the president or other representatives of the Russian government.

All Vnukovo terminals are equipped in such a way as to provide the maximum degree of comfort to passengers, as well as to minimize the time required for check-in and procedures such as customs and passport control, baggage clearance, etc.

Note: if you need long-term parking, then you can save a lot of money by using the services. Their parking lots are located approximately 10 minutes from Moscow airports. Provided free airport transfer and back, free luggage packing. Cost: when parking for 30 days - 200 rubles, with a club card - 225 rubles, common price— 250 rubles per day.
