Few people know yet, but in Moscow, in August 2013, night bus, trolleybus and tram routes began operating.
For tourists who, after an excursion, need to get home half a city away or to the opposite end of Moscow, this can be a good help: they will not need to spend money on a taxi or wait for the metro to open if they are suddenly late for the metro due to traffic jams.

So, since this information can be very useful for our tourists, we are posting here all the data on night transport routes. Approaching Moscow after an excursion, if the bus arrives in the city after the metro is closed, you can ask the driver to stop and let you off near the stop of such a bus, trolleybus or tram (if this stop is located along the route of the bus and the bus can stop without violating traffic rules) and get home by public transport.

So, we’ll tell you where, where and what you can get from at night (information taken from the official Mosgortrans website).

Movement in big city does not stop day or night. Daytime routes are being replaced by night routes that run during the “dark hours of the day,” which is undoubtedly very convenient for many passengers.

It happens that you are traveling alone on a bus at night, and it becomes creepy. Moscow authorities are rushing to solve this problem with the help of special police patrols that will monitor the movement of night traffic.

Night trolleybuses and trams of Moscow

There are now four routes running along the capital's highways - three trolleybuses and one tram.

The Moscow authorities are listening to the opinions of citizens, and new night public transport routes will appear in the near future.

Future routes

Now every night no more than 2,500 people use Moscow night transport routes. This is not much, considering the entire population of the metropolis. With the advent of new routes, this figure will increase.

Night buses Nos. H4, H5 and H6 were introduced relatively recently thanks to a survey by the Active Citizen portal. Passengers have long appreciated that night routes allow them to save on taxi costs.

In the future night public transport Moscow will cover all highways and will be launched to the capital’s airports with the possibility of “replanting” in the city center.

Now you are familiar with the schedule and prospects for the development of night transport in Moscow - buses, trolleybuses and trams. We are sure that the information will be useful for many residents of the metropolis. Easy roads and pleasant routes!

The continuation of the line of night routes is envisaged by the plans of the Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure of the City of Moscow. The route is included in the register of city routes approved by this department No. N8, connecting the central Lubyanka Square with residential complex"B", located in South Butovo. The route route allows you to cover almost all the metro stations of the Serpukhov radius and the Butovskaya line of the Moscow metro located beyond the Garden Ring.

From complex “B” of Yuzhny Butov, buses will proceed along Admiral Lazarev Street, Buninskaya Alley, Yuzhnobutovskaya Street, Admiral Lazarev Street, Venevskaya Street, Admiral Ushakov Boulevard, Skobelevskaya Street, Polyany Street, Kulikovskaya Street, Green Street, Dmitry Donskoy Boulevard, Starokachalovskaya Street, Koktebelskaya street, Warsaw highway, Academician Yangel Street, Chertanovskaya Street, Simferopol Boulevard, Nakhimovsky Avenue, Kashirskoye Highway, Warsaw Highway, Bolshaya Tula Street, Podolskoye Highway, Pavlovskaya Street, Bolshaya Serpukhovskaya Street, Valovaya Street, Paveletskaya Square, Zatsepsky Val Street, Novokuznetskaya Street, Ustinsky Proezd, Yauzskie Vorota Square, Solyanka Street, Solyansky Proezd, Slavyanskaya Square and Lubyansky Proezd.

In the opposite direction from Lubyanka Square, buses will go along Novaya Square, Solyansky Proezd, Solyanka Street, Ustinsky Proezd, Novokuznetskaya Street, Valovaya Street, Lyusinovskaya Street, Bolshaya Tulskaya Street, Warsaw Highway, Kashirskoye Highway, Nakhimovsky Prospekt, Simferopolsky Boulevard, Chertanovskaya Street, Academician Yangel, Warsaw Highway, Koktebelskaya Street, Starokachalovskaya Street, Dmitry Donskoy Boulevard, Green Street, Kulikovskaya Street, Polyany Street, Skobelevskaya Street, Admiral Ushakov Boulevard, Venevskaya Street, Yuzhnobutovskaya Street, Buninskaya Alley and Admiral Lazarev Street.

It is planned that 10 buses of the State Unitary Enterprise Mosgortrans will operate on the new route.

Currently in south direction already exists night route- this is a tram № 3 , running between the Chistye Prudy metro station and Akademika Yangelya Street located in Chertanovo. However, there is no technical possibility for extending it beyond the Moscow Ring Road and further south in the foreseeable future - night line cars reach extreme point tram network. In addition, several times a month due to preventive maintenance work, the tram is replaced by a bus route No. 3n, the route and stops do not coincide on a very long section - from Serpukhovskaya Zastava to Simferopol Boulevard. In August, the bus replaced trams on eight out of 31 days, and six “bus” nights are planned for September. Such constant replacements negatively affect the occupancy of night flights - not all passengers have the opportunity to quickly find out the cancellation schedule and understand what the State Unitary Enterprise Mosgortrans will offer them that night - a tram or a bus.

Another disadvantage of the night tram is that its final point in the city center is the Chistye Prudy metro station, while all night trams bus routes(and the new No. H8) start from Lubyanka Square.

And apparently, the movement of night trams is not entirely legal, since according to the register approved by the Department of Transport, the tram's final destination № 3 in the south of the city is Balaklava Avenue, where the route № 3 It runs during the main hours - from morning to evening.

Unfortunately, the route opening date No. N8 has not yet been announced by the capital's transport workers, and the metropolitan areas of Northern Butovo and Southern Butovo remain without night public transport.
