Atol VIVA Smart is a POS terminal based on a 15-inch touchscreen monoblock platform. It is used to equip a cash register workplace in cafes and fast food establishments with high traffic.
The monoblock is equipped with a 4-core Intel processor. By default, 2 GB of RAM is installed, the volume of which can easily be increased to 8 GB, and a high-speed 64 GB SSD is used as ROM. Access to your work network via Gigabit LAN. The case is equipped with a magnetic card reader for 1-3 stripes, and there are also mounts for a customer monitor of 10 and 12 inches. To connect peripherals, the following are used: 5 USB, 4 COM, VGA, LPT, PS/2, Audio and DC-Out for the buyer’s monitor.

Atol Viva Smart is a touch POS terminal developed on the basis of technologies that are used in tablets and small laptops. An industrial computer includes a banknote detector or card reader, which is a definite advantage: there is a minimum number of wires, the device is small in size and is reliable in operation.

Atol Viva Smart is designed specifically for industrial use:

  1. The design of the device does not allow it to fall if accidentally pushed.
  2. The magnetic card reader comes complete with the candy bar.
  3. The screen does not allow moisture to enter the system.
  4. The presence of specialized COM ports makes it possible to establish a strong connection with a payment terminal, fiscal registrar, barcode scanner and other peripheral devices.
  5. The monoblock operates stably under heavy load around the clock.

Appearance

The appearance of Atol Viva Smart is similar to other professional touch POS terminals for retail businesses. The screen size is standard (15 inches), as for most models of this technology. The frame around the screen is wide (by modern standards), but it does not have a protruding “side” (the display is easy to clean from dust). Also, the screen of the device has moisture-proof properties, which is especially important for cafes, restaurants and bars, where malfunctions of cash register equipment often occur due to liquid getting on it.

The terminal's touchscreen has capacitive technology, which eliminates the possibility of pressing the display with a pen or pencil. For cashiers who are used to working this way, it is necessary to additionally purchase a special stylus.

The screen tilt angle is from 2 to 44 degrees. And this is quite enough for the operator’s comfortable work. The device is stable, so when adjusting the tilt, it will not wobble. The terminal stand is hollow and contains absolutely no electrical wires. The back cover of the stand can be easily removed. Therefore, if necessary, you can lay the wires coming from the monoblock inside the stand.

Cash register computer interfaces

Atol Viva Smart has a large number of connectors. There are only five USB ports. But if this number of ports is not enough, you can do without a card reader to free up another standard USB connector.

The device also has:

  1. Four COM ports with standard DB9 connector.
  2. Parallel LPT port. Required to connect an old 1C 7.7 security key or LPT printer.
  3. 1 GB network card. The PS/2 connector allows you to connect a programmable trading keyboard or a keyboard barcode scanner with this interface.
  4. Microphone input and output for external speakers.
  5. Power connector for external device (voltage 12 Volts).

Even a non-professional can replace the device’s hard drive. There is no need to disassemble the case or purchase special tools. A 12 Volt 5 Ampere power supply was used.

It is possible to install a card reader on the right side (does not work with popular cards with a printed barcode), which is supplied with the device and allows you to read any magnetic cards.

Two disks are supplied with the terminal. On the first - drivers for terminal devices for OS from Windows XP to Windows 10. On the other - the Windows Embedded POSReady 7 OS recovery tool (included with Atol Viva Smart).

Internal organization

The terminal has an Intel J1900 processor with 4 cores, 56 MB of first-level cash memory and 2 MB of second-level cash memory. The terminal operates almost silently, since the processor is cooled passively.

The basic configuration of the terminal includes 2 GB of RAM in the form of a standard SO‑DIMM module. But it can be replaced with a module of up to 8 GB capacity. The basic memory is quite enough to run the operator program, but not enough to run several programs at once.

The device has a 64 GB solid-state drive, which is divided into two 32 GB partitions. The operating system uses 8 GB. SSD disk is the standard for modern point-of-sale terminals. Thanks to it, the speed of the device increases, and also reduces energy consumption and noise during operation. But SSD drives differ in their finite read and write resources. Therefore, if you plan to access the disk frequently, it is better to purchase and install a classic hard drive.

The terminal is pre-installed with the Windows Embedded POSReady 7 operating system, which is designed specifically for trading computers. Thanks to this OS, the terminal works much faster and weighs less.

Software Compatibility

Any cash register program is suitable for the terminal. With Atol Viva Smart, many restaurants, cafes, canteens and bars have already been automated. The device works with 1C (1C: Public catering, ShtrikhM: Bartender), Frontoll and the system for integrated trade automation SBIS Retail.

7. The time frame for reviewing a claim may vary. If the claim is justified, we will replace equipment of inadequate quality within 15 days or eliminate all detected defects within 30 days from the date of prepayment.


The equipment warranty is 1 year and is valid from the moment the acceptance certificate is signed. Please note that the warranty provides for free repair of defective equipment, but does not provide for its replacement with other equipment during the repair period.


Complex electronic equipment is usually not subject to exchange or return, but we are ready to accommodate you. To avoid having to return or change the product, tell the manager all possible conditions and your operating requirements. If for objective reasons you were unable to integrate our equipment into your automation system, you can ask our manager to replace the equipment or return the money.
