In general, Lastochka is a fairly comfortable way to travel between the resort and the city. The carriages are reserved seat, with soft seats, arranged in blocks of 2-3-4-6 seats. There are 220V sockets (not at all seats). One of the carriages is equipped with a toilet.

The disadvantages include the relatively high price, especially if you are traveling with a group (if you are 3-4 people, consider the option, it may be cheaper), and the not very convenient location of the railway stations. If the resorts can, in principle, be reached on foot from final stop(Gazprom and Alpika are 3 minutes from the station, and Rosa Khutor and Gorki Gorod are within 15-20 minutes on foot), then to the village of Krasnaya Polyana you will have to go either by or by.

It's profitable and fast
Lastochka trains run between the resorts of Greater Sochi and Adler Airport much faster than buses. They can freely transport pets and bags of any size. Their stations are as close as possible to the centers of villages and Sochi airport and are very convenient for landing. Every day, “Swallows” carry several tens of thousands of passengers, help overcome peak passenger traffic loads in the summer season and are the real transport backbone of the entire resort region Sochi.

The Lastochka high-speed electric train runs regularly from Sochi and Adler to Krasnaya Polyana. On this moment this is the most convenient way to get to the checkpoint from Sochi and Adler if you don’t have your own car.

In addition, there is also a charter Lastochka from Rostov-on-Don via Krasnodar to the Rosa Khutor resort, which operates during the winter season as part of package tours from Rose. You can read more about the charter “Rosa Swallow” link. And then on this page all the details of travel on a regular one.

Route diagram of the Lastochka train in Sochi and Krasnaya Polyana

Unfortunately, there is no direct line to Krasnaya Polyana from the airport planned, so the train makes a detour to Adler railway station, and then from there to Krasnaya Polyana.

How to figure out station names?

For those who are not yet familiar with Krasnaya Polyana, it is important to understand that there are two stations in the mountains. The final station of Rosa Khutor is actually located at the Alpika-Service resort. And the intermediate station Esto-Sadok is located at the end of the village of Krasnaya Polyana, near the ski jump. Therefore, keep in mind that locals sometimes say “to the Alpine”.

Most tourists usually reach terminal station Rosa Khutor, which is located next to ski resort Alpika-Service. From there it is most convenient to get to the Alpika-Service, Rosa Khutor and Gazprom resorts. And if you need to get to Gorki Gorod, then there are two options: either also get to the final station and walk back from there for 15-20 minutes, or get off at the Esto-Sadok intermediate station and from there take the free Gornaya Karusel bus or a regular one for 19 rubles to get to the ski lift.

Prices are calculated based on the cost of travel and the number of 10-kilometer zones. From Adler to Polyana there are 5 such zones. And from Sochi to Adler there is a different tariff for zones, so 34 rubles. x 3 zones = 102 rub.
